I climbed over and through the trash to my home. It was a small space that is set in a precarious looking situation, but it's actually set up structurally. A small cot I scavenged from the HPSC's trash. A burnt desk and kotatsu(I use it as a blanket) from Endewhore's. Notebooks I bought with my own money. I rewired the fridge to convert Solar power and Greenhouse gases to run, so it holds my food.
It's secluded from everyone and everything, so no one except me knows where it is. I stop and look at my notebook. In there are my plans to apply for the hero course. I'm legally considered dead, but I know that the U.A. people don't check the files' fine print. So, I've been in the middle of editing my file at multiple library computers.
I also plan on bringing on my custom made staff and belt. The belt holds everything I need, from replacement bandages for my eye, to a lockpicking set, to food. I look at the clock I fixed and gasped. I'm going to be late to work! I grab my utility belt and leave my 'home'.
My work is at Old Man Naoko's store, where I help homeless people and train when I can. I enter the store and am greeted with a hug from one of our regulars. "Deku-Chan~!" I shove the girl off me. "No hugs, Toga. I don't like them." Himiko Toga, a kid charged with attepmted murder and is on the run.
You might be wondering, why is this store holding a villain? One, she isn't a villain. She was just abused and mistreated due to her quirk. Two, this store doesn't help only homeless people. It helps people who are convicted 'villains' remerge into society. Toga pouted. "Fine...." I headed to the worker area and put on the tag that read, 'Deku'. I came back out and sat at the desk, where books stood.
We provide food, shelter, and education to the homeless. Old Man Naoko funds it all, he's loaded, and we use the money well. I'm messing with an EMP so that I can beat those robots from the entrance exam, when I hear the door to the bedrooms upstairs open. I look up and smile. It's Old Man Naoko himself.
"What's up, Noako?" I ask. He grumbles. "Why are you here, aren't you supposed to be training?" I roll my eye. "I've got nine months. I've trained since you found me, and I'm working on the tech stuff right now." One of the older homeless regulars looked up from his food and said, "You're going to apply to U.A, right?" I nod.
"Gonna be the world's first quirkless hero!" The entire floor cheers. "Yeah!" "Fuck the hero soceity up!" "Show those bitches who's the boss!" I laugh. "It's always something here." That was true. I always felt this was my home. The people here are a lot like me, and they know not to pry. We're all damaged in this house, but we're working on it.
After a few hours of work, I get my pay and leave the house. I walk down the street for a bit then stop, turning. Someone was following me. I look at the person. "Do you need something..." I smile. "Burned-Kun?" The burned adult laughed roughly. "I told you not to call me that, Eyeball." I sigh. I walk to him. "What do you need?" He shrugs.
"Nothing much. Just got some tips for ya." I raise my eyebrow. "About?" He pulls out a small USB drive. "Nicked this from that extra warehouse in Hosu. Replaced it with one on memes." He hands it to me. "Thanks Burn. What's the cost this time?" Burn laughed and grinned evilly. "You still got the elephants toothpaste?"
I grin. "I like where this was going."
I look at the drive and shake my head. This isn't anything new, except for the list of meds. That's new. I write it down and unplug the USB, then place it in the hidden storage place I dug under the bed. I sit on the bed and pull out the stand mirror so that I can carefully take out the bandages that cover my eye.
