I'm currently on my way to a report of a little girl on the streets. When little kids are found on the streets, it's the NHL employee's job to bring them in before they fall into the wrong crowd. I walk around the alleys, holding my tag out. Everyone on the streets knows the name of Old Man Naoko and his workers. I walked up to one of them. She had green hair that looked like snakes, a bandage over her eyes. "Need something, kid?" I smile. "Deku, from NHL. Have you seen a little girl around here?" The woman sighed. "One of Naoko's kids. Was wondering when you would get here. She's at the end of the alley in a dumpster. Careful, she has a rewind quirk. Lost a thief to her." I nod and thank her.
I carefully walk down the alley. "Hello?" I ask as I near the dumpster. I hear shuffling inside. I open it carefully. I gasp. It's a girl, no more than 6, in a thin hospital gown and bandages on her arms and legs. She had silver-white hair and red eyes, with a large horn on her forehead. She looked scared as she backed into a corner.
"G-GO away!" She yelled. I smiled and climbed in. She seemed shocked. "D-Don't-Don't hurt me-please-" She sniffed. I smiled. "I'm not here to hurt you. I'm Deku. What's your name?" She looked up, still scared. "I understand. I'm a stranger, and You don't trust me." She was still curled up. "I came here to help you. There's a place that takes care of people like us."
"Us?" She asks. I nod. "A lot of people run away for one reason or another. The place I want to take you to is a place where anyone can be safe." She looked shocked. "Really?" I nod. "You'll protect me? Even if I could hurt you?" I nod again. "I brought a bracelet that stops your quirk until we can help you control it. So, want to come?" She nods and I hand her the bracelet.
She puts it on and I take her hand. She gasps as nothing happens. I get out and pick her up. "Eri." She mutters into my shoulder. "What?" I put her down. " my name is Eri..." I smile. Nice to meet you Eri. Let's get you No Home's Land."
We get to NHL and she latches onto my pant leg. "Don't worry, Eri. This is a safe place. But it might be loud. Can you deal with that?" She nods. We go in and it's empty except for Naoko and Toga, who lives here regularly. "Deku-chan!" She smiles. Eri gets closer to my legs. "Deku, you found her?" I nod. "Go on, they won't hurt you." She walks up and messes with her own.
"Hello there, young one. What's your name? I'm Naoko, and this is Toga." She mumbles. "What? We won't hurt you. You can speak." She looks at me and I nod. "'M Eri..." Toga smiles warmly. "How old are you, Eri-chan?" She looks at her fingers. "Um...I'm 6. I think." Naoko smiles. "Welcome to NHL, Eri. We're going to protect you."
I yawn as I leave NHL, after saying goodbye to Eri. It was the next day and I only had 3 more days to decide where to Intern. My choices were, The Hero Public Safety Commission, The Hawks agency, and Gran Torino, who according to Naoko is about as old as him. I walk into the school early, and sit down. As I look through the pros that could intern me, I hear the door open.
"Young Midoriya? May I speak to you?" I look up and see All Might. "Yes sir?" He looks nervous. Odd. I didn't think the number 1 hero got nervous. "I wish to talk to you." I get up and follow him to an empty corridor. "As no doubt you know, You got three nominations. One from Hawks, one from HPSC, and one from...Gran Torino, One of My-My former mentors."
I'm shocked. "Really?!" He nods. "I haven't heard from him in years, and he called me saying he gave you a nomination. I can only guess that it's because you are quirkless. He's always been interested in new ideas." I smile. "You want me to intern under him?" He nods. "I was going to go for him anyway. Glad we're on the same page, All Might." I walk to the teachers lounge to give my choice.
"Ingenium got hit?" I ask, playing with Eri at work. Eri has been adamant to stick to my side ever since she found out I was training to be a hero. Scars nods. "Yeah. Stain got him in the legs. Paralysed for life." I sigh. "Who's Ingenium, Mr. Deku?" I look over at Eri, who is playing with my hair. She's one of the few people I don't feel scared or disgusted when they touch me. "He's a pro hero. But Stain, a villain who wants only the best heroes to rule, hurt him."
She puts. "That's so mean! Why?" I hum. "Well, it's because he thinks the world is wrong. People like you, me, and Scars are left without homes. Stain wants to fix that by only making people like All Might become heroes." Eri doesn't look happy. "I understand he wants to fix stuff, but he doesn't need to hurt people!" She said, pulling at my hair. I flinch a bit.
"Yeah. That's why I'm going to change it from the inside." Scars smiles. "There is one thing. I heard from a little bird that Tenya Iida is going to Hosu. Where Stain was last seen." I get up, scaring Eri. "Shit. He isn't." Eri closes her ears. "Bad words Mr. Deku! And who's Tenya Iida?" I look over and sigh.
Naoko comes in and talks before me. "Tensei Iida is Ingenium. Tenya Iida is his younger brother, who goes to the same class as Deku. If he's still mad about all this, It's possible that Tenya could try and go after Stain." Eri gasps. "Mr. Deku you have to save him!" I nod. "I plan on it, Eri."
