Chapter 1: I'm Awake

Clove's POV

I hear people talking and machines beeping so I slowly begin to open my eyes and I see that I'm in a hospital room and I'm surrounded by my family. Seeing that I'm waking up the start to all crowd me and I can see that they have been crying, but why? I them feel I sharp pain in my head and I remember everything, district 2, the academy, the reaping, the games, my death, and Cato. I start hyperventilating and my mother tries to calm me down.

"Hey, I'm here baby, it's okay, you're gonna be okay", my mother says comforting me.

I start to calm after she whispers reassuring words to me over the next few minutes. She then motions for the rest of my family to come over and hug me before I am able to ask her how I'm alive. My dad comes and hugs me first scooping me up in his ginormous arms, we sit there for a couple minutes just him comforting me. He puts me down and my older sister Ava comes and sits on the bed, she hugs me as hard as she can and whispers in my ear ...
"If you ever scare me like that again, I swear I will kill you myself next time!"
I just giggle at this and hug her back. I've always been pretty close with her, she had a similar personality to me but also is very girly. Next my older brother Alex comes, he scoops me into a heartwarming hug and kisses my forehead gently. I'm close with him but not as close as Ava cause he isn't around much but I still love him to death and love to prank him. Next my twin sister Cece comes, she pulls me into a gentle hug and tells me that she missed me and that she loves me. Even though we are twins I am not that close with Cece, I mean don't get me wrong I love her a lot but we are pretty much polar opposites, she loves fashion and makeup and isn't the best at combat where as I am not overly invested in fashion and makeup but instead combat. Next my younger brother Ash comes and hugs me and tells me cheekily....
" I glad you are back so that I have someone to drive our family crazy with"
I chuckle and smirk at this and he just grins. I am pretty close to Ash, we both have a talent for mischief and we use it maybe a little too well. After he gets up the quads come over and each hug me, Teddy and Jay kiss my forehead gently just like Alex and Vivi and Izzy just hug me tightly like they never want to let go. I have always been really close with Vivi, because she was always like a mini me, she wasn't too girly like Cece, she had an evil side to her, and she loved to throw knives just like me. I am not as close with Izzy as Vivi because she is basically like a mini Cece, always obsessing over fashion and makeup, but unlike Cece she was very skilled with weapons and combat, much like me. I am pretty close to Teddy and Jay because they both love to play sports and spar with me, but they are also just a little bit annoying. Next the Luke and Leia come over, they both hug me then punch me gently in the arm, I just grin at this. Luke and Leia are so similar it's crazy, I have always been close with the two of them cause they are pretty much reincarnations of me and Ash, the are the devil duo, Luke is very athletic and very strong for his age, and Leia is very smart for her age but she also is abnormally strong and very tomboyish. Me and Ash love to start prank wars with them and see who could last the longest before breaking, it's usually me and Ash but the twins win sometimes. Lastly the twins Evie and Gwen come giggling as they jump onto the bed, they both jump on top of me and start smothering me with hugs and kisses, they cling onto me for a long time just sitting there. I have always been super close to them because they were just so adorable and cute, they were the only ones in the family with platinum blond hair and icy blue eyes, no soy understands how it happened because neither of my parents are blond with blue eyes, they are also extremely identical, and I am the only that can tell the apart, although they look alike they couldn't be more different personality wise, Evie is very rambunctious, outgoing, loud, and fun while Gwen is more quiet, shy, subtle, and reserved, but they both were extremely skilled with daggers even though they were only 6. After they reluctantly let go my dad tells Ava to take all the kids home so that him and mom could talk to me privately. She nods and ushers all my siblings out of the room, they each wave goodbye to me and walk out of the room. After they are out my parents turn to me and begin talking.

"Okay first off Clo, what do you remember?", my mom says anxiously.

"I remember mostly everything but some things are still a little blurry", I say trying to reassure my mother.

"That's really good honey", my dad says relieved.

Before my mom could speak I ask worriedly
" How am I here? When did I get here? Who won the games? Are the other tributes still alive? How long have I been here? Where is Cato? Is he alive? Did he win?"

"Woah let's slow down a bit and think about one question at a time.", my dad says clearly overwhelmed.

"Okay", I say much more calm then I was 10 seconds ago.

Hey so this is the first chapter and I hope it's good I left it on a bit of a cliffhanger and I hope you guys don't mind that. I'm gonna try to update everyday but if I don't then I'm sorry. Pls comment and let me know if you have any ideas for the rest of the book because I am basically just going off the top of my head! 🙃😜
