Strongly recommend playing some slow songs while you read this chapter ;)

You and Fred made your way into the Great Hall and towards your friends. As you did so, the music increased in volume until you had reached the near center of the room.

"Guess there's no boring dinner huh George," you said to him when you and Fred had approached your friends.

"Guess not!" he said laughing as Angelina was attempting to spin him, despite his height.

The current music playing was both an upbeat and popular song. Fred grabbed your free hand with his, the two of you now facing one another, holding both hands.

As the music played, Fred and you jumped around, swung your hands back and forth, bopped your heads, and many other dance moves that made the two of you breathless with laughter.

As you and Fred danced, you could hear Katie and Lee giggling behind you and could see glimpses of Angelina and George out of the corner of your right eye. You felt so content, and based on what you could see, your friends felt the same way.

The song that was playing slowly faded out and the next that began to play was not like the others that you had been dancing to. It was a slow song.

"Oh, this will be easy," Fred said quietly as he moved closer to you, "we are quite the slow dancers wouldn't you say? We've certainly practiced enough."

"We are quite good slow dancers," you said, agreeing with Fred and smiling as you placed your hands on Fred's chest while he delicately held your waist.

As the music slowly echoed throughout the room, you and Fred swayed together, his eyes locked on yours the entire time. After some time, you stopped thinking about your movements. Both you and Fred allowed the rhythm to control the direction and way that you danced.

Soon after, all the scenery of the Great Hall and the people around you, including your friends dissolved.

It was you and Fred, alone.

His hazel eyes shone, and a smile spread across his perfectly freckled face.

Fred's hand brushed across your cheek sending the most electric of chills through you. You felt pure paradise.

He drew you close to his chest, and you melted into him, moving your arms further up his chest and wrapping them around his neck.

Soon after, you moved one of your hands from Fred's neck to brush away a small piece of your hair that was in your face. However, Fred's hand moved and clutched onto yours.

He then slowly placed your hand onto his shoulder and delicately tucked the lock behind your ear for you.

You whispered to him ever so quietly, wanting him to feel the chills that you did.

"You sure know how to be romantic Freddie."

You set your head on his chest. The two of you continued to dance, too lost in the music to stop.

"Hey," Fred said gently a few minutes later, "the songs over."

You looked up at him and slowly opened your eyes that you hadn't realized you had closed.

Almost without thinking, you leaned in and planted your lips on Fred's. Fred wrapped his arms around your neck this time and held you tight as the kiss continued.

You broke apart from one another.

"Maybe we could go somewhere else and be alone together?" you said, "The tent maybe?"

"The tent will be way too cold and neither of us brought wands to heat it up," he said, "We'd freeze. But, funnily enough, I do have somewhere we can go."

Fred then turned and with your hand in his, he weaved the both of you through the other distracted, dancing couples and out of the Great Hall.

"Freddie where are you bringing me?" you panted, as the two of you quickly climbed a flight of stairs. The two of you had been running through the castle for a while, Fred not slowing his pace in the slightest, until that is, you both reached the top of the staircase you were ascending.

"I'm bringing you," he sighed, and gesturing with the hand not holding yours, "here."

You were now standing in an unfamiliar room. The walls were lined with large windows and strung from the ceiling were hundreds of small, warm yellow-tinged lights that were fully illuminating the room. The only wall without windows had a fireplace that was blazing with flames. Finally, in the middle of the room was a couch piled with blankets, and in front of it, a telescope.

"Where are we?" you asked him.

"Well it's some old astronomy room they stopped using years ago for whatever reason," he explained, "probably because they only need the astronomy tower. So, I made this room a little less dusty and more, well, this. What do you think?"

"It's beautiful, Freddie," you sighed in wonder, looking up at the lights.

You then made your way to the couch and sat down, Fred joining you. You pulled the telescope towards you and looked. Through it, you saw hundreds of thousands of bright pinprick stars in the sky.

"Wow," you said, pulling your head back from the telescope and looking at Fred, "you did all of this for me?"

Fred nodded.

"I am head over heels for you, you know that?" you said leaning closer to him and placing your hand on his cheek.

"As am I," he said, also leaning towards you.

The two of you then both leaned your heads ever so slightly further. You were now mere centimeters from Fred's face. At that moment, you felt yourself muster up the courage to say the words you had wanted to say to him for a long time.

I love you.

"Fred," you said, inhaling in preparation for your words.

"What is it?" Fred said, cocking his head to the side, your hand still on his cheek.

"Fred, I love-"

As you started to say the final word, you heard the shout of a spell.

"STUPEFY!!"

You turned to where you heard the spell come from, to see who had cast it, but you weren't fast enough. The flash of a sudden red light completely blinded you from seeing anything.

You felt yourself fall backward onto the couch, your vision quickly blurring and darkening.

As you felt yourself losing consciousness, you only thought about how all you wanted at that moment was for Fred Weasley to know how much you truly loved, truly desired, and truly adored him.
