"So you're going to go to the Burrow?" Angelina asked you, clearly surprised.

It was a few hours later and you were now back in your dorm talking with Katie and Angelina. You just told them about what McGonagall said and how George had invited you to spend the holiday with the Weasley's.

"Yeah, what choice do I have?" you responded, "I'm not allowed to stay here and I don't want my mum to stress out any more than she usually does, especially during Christmas. I will ruin her holiday."

"Ruin it?" Katie asked, "How?"

"Well, you know her side of the family is all muggles and already think something's wrong with me which is why they think I go to a "boarding school for troubled youth". Hearing that I got in a fight will just make them judge my mum even more than they already do. She doesn't deserve it. I'm writing to her now."

Hi Mum,

As you've probably known already, I got in a fight. I am so so sorry, and it will never happen again. I know the thought of me getting in trouble worries you. I miss you so much but I think I'm going to stay with the Weasley's for the holiday. I want you to enjoy Christmas and for you to have a good time with your side of the family. I love you.

Once you finished writing the letter, you sealed it in an envelope with your mother's name and address printed on the front.

"Katie do you mind if I borrow your owl so I can send this home?" you asked her, holding up the envelope for her to see.

"Sure not a problem," Katie said, her owl, Evie then flying over to you.

"Evie take this to my mum okay? You've delivered letters to her before," you said to the barn owl, as you tied the letter around her leg.

Evie gave a small chirp, spreading her wings and flying through an open window, soon becoming smaller and smaller in the sky, eventually disappearing from view.

While you were writing your letter, Katie and Angelina had been packing their bags, they were both going home to their families for the break.

Since you would only be at the Burrow for a little over a week, you decided not to bring your whole trunk. You stuffed a smaller bag you had with muggle clothes and a few of your other belongings.

You made sure not to forget your wand. Thankfully, George had retrieved it for you when he spoke with McGonagall.

The next morning was complete chaos. Nearly everyone in Gryffindor tower was scrambling around trying to finish packing so they could get to the train in time for its departure.

Thankfully you, Katie, and Angelina had finished all of your packings the night before. You had a bunch of spare time. With this time you decided to take more care into your outfit.

You threw on a very comfortable charcoal grey sweater and a new white mini skirt you bought before school back in September. It ended right at your upper thighs but was not insanely short, but as Katie joked with you, "it sure isn't modest," either.

Katie, Angelina, and you then ate a fairly relaxed breakfast and soon after went back up into the tower to help out some of the very frazzled first years.

Just as you found a first-year's lost owl, George jogged over to you.

"Hey. I think we should all try and stick together, just so nobody accidentally gets lost in the shuffle. You got your stuff?" he said.

"Yeah," you said, picking up your bag and scooping Sam into your arms, which were both sitting off to the side of the stairs, Sam still half asleep.
