"Today," you said out loud jolting up in your bed. The sun glinting through your blinds had wakened you and you were glad it did.

Since school had let out for the summer, you had been counting down the days until you would be returning to school. Hogwarts. One of your favorite places in the world, your safe place.

You were more than ready to begin your sixth year there.

You ran downstairs so fast you nearly tripped over your own feet, you couldn't contain your excitement. At the bottom of your stairs sat your cat, Sam. He was your furry companion who you brought to Hogwarts every year and this year was no different.

Despite a toothbrush sticking out of your mouth and a hairbrush in your hand, you managed to scoop Sam up with your opposite arm.

You ran back up the stairs to the bathroom where you finished getting ready, quickly throwing on clothes.

Once again, you descended the stairs, this time noticing your trunk sat at the bottom of the staircase. However, it wasn't too heavy at the moment,  you were still missing some books for the term but you planned to purchase them soon.

You entered the kitchen and it was empty. The only thing was a note sitting next to a box of your favorite cereal.

"I had to go to work this morning but I hope school is so much fun. I love you so much. See you at Christmas okay? Love you always, Mum."

The note was heartfelt and you know that your mother's intentions were good. You smiled at the note before putting it into your skirt pocket and helping yourself to cereal. You did feel for your mom, everything she did was for you, even if it meant working long and crazy hours at the muggle hospital. Your mother is a muggle, but is understanding and accepting. She wanted to help you succeed and be happy, even as a witch.

Suddenly, a loud bang followed by an even louder crash erupted from your living room. You jumped up out of your chair and ran towards the source of the noise, wand in hand.

In your living room stood four tall redheads and a just as tall, dark-haired boy climbing out of your fireplace. This was of course the some of the Weasley family and their practically surrogate son Harry Potter. The crash and bang had been caused by two of the Weasley boys, Ron and Fred who had been shoving each other.

George noticed you first and ran to you, giving your still shocked state a big warm hug. You hugged him back for another few seconds before you both broke apart from each other.

By now the entire band had joined you and George, standing and chatting.

"I knew you were all coming but you still managed to scare me guys!" you said with a laugh, "You are nearly an hour early!"

"Well we just grabbed Harry from the Dursleys and figured it would save some time by getting you right after," said Arthur.

"Plus we all missed you terribly!" exclaimed Fred, everyone nodding at his remark in agreement.

You gave more hellos and hugs before A

"Boys!" Arthur cheerfully yelled, "Go grab the trunk! Your mother wants us to have enough time for school supply shopping."

Fred, George, and Ron obliged and walked to the front of the house to get your things.

Ron soon returned, holding Sam and cooing. Sam's eyes were closed and he purred in content.

"You know that this is the only cat I like?" said Ron smiling. "Don't tell Hermione of Crookshanks though, they'll both probably kill me."

You and Harry laughed at Ron as he baby talked to Sam until Fred and George reentered holding your trunk.

"Let's get this show on the road shall we?" said George.

"Ready when you are," replied Fred.

Fred and George stepped into the chimney with your trunk first, throwing the powder, yelling out the destination, the burrow, and disappearing. They were followed by Harry, then Ron, yourself, and finally, Arthur.

You barely had your two feet in the burrow when you were smothered in a warm hug that smelled of cinnamon and yarn; Molly.

"Oh, my dear! How are you!" exclaimed Molly, letting you out of the hug, "Let me look at you!" Molly said taking a half step back to look you up and down. "You have become such a beautiful and strong young woman dear." said Molly, looking into your eyes, "Hopefully you can keep my George and Fred out of trouble this year!" she joked while shooting the twins a warning look.

"Let's get your trunk upstairs," said Fred.

You nodded followed him and the crowd upstairs.

"Bunking with Hermione and Ginny?" Said George, stopping in front of Ginny's room.

"You bet," you responded, "thanks for the help by the way. I'll get set up here and then we can all do something later when Hermione gets here?"

"Perfect" said Ron, and with that, the crowd dispersed, Fred and George, going downstairs, Harry and Ron upstairs, and Ginny into her room with you.

You flopped onto your bed and Sam did not hesitate to climb onto your stomach and enjoy the warmth of the burrow.

"Hey hey HEY!" said Ginny poking you in the ribs, making you laugh. "Do NOT fall asleep on me!"

"I'm not I'm not," you said smiling and shifting up and into a seated position, crossing your legs as well as relocating Sam into your lap.

"Your summer. How was it? I want details."

You laughed lightly, as you pet the top of Sam's head, your cat purring in content as a result.

"Other than reading and going out to lunch with my mom every few weeks, I did nothing." You smirked at Ginny, "Were you expecting something more interesting?"

Ginny dramatically sighed and took your hands in hers, "Oh WHEN will you kiss a boy already!! I swear you are in love with SAM!"

You both erupted into a fit of laughing where neither of you could get words out, except a few.

"GINNY... I... HAVE... KISSED... PLENTY... OF... BOYS," you strained, barely able to get the words out amidst your laughing fit. Instead of responding, Ginny was smirking at the door and giggling behind her hands.

Fred stood in the doorframe, hand on the back of his neck, looking embarrassed.

"Mum wanted me to tell everyone that we are all heading to Diagon Alley."
