Chapter 4

Right...

'BREAKFAST!!'  You thought and your head perked up cautiously at your brother.

"We need to head back!" You looked at him with fear in your eyes...

Heeseung  only looked back at you with blank eyes.

"Breakfast!! WE. ARE. LATE. FOR. BREAKFAST!!!" You panicked, and his eyes bulged wide that they could almost fall to the ground.

"Ah, SHIT! We need to go NOW! Mother will get suspicious of us!!" He stated. He looked at the two cousins who eyed the both of you with a 'what?' look.

"I'll explain later. And oh! You're all  invited. Be here at the castle at lunch!" He said while looking at the two cousins and your trainers. 

"What is the occasion?!" K asked, and Hwasa smacked his head.

"Pabo, its Y/n's Birthday!" Hwasa reminded K.. and the two cousins now understood it.

Time skip at the castle

The teenagers rushed to the castle and try to sneak through their windows to change. They would do this every time they would be late. While sneaking up to their windows, they heard their step mother's voice..

"Well, well... sneaking through the windows after taking your horses for a walk, or should I say for your training, am I correct?" Their step mother gave them a smirk that they couldn't read. Her gaze went into you as she widened her smirk.

"Darling... How many times do I have to tell you.." She walked towards you and forcefully lifted your chin using her hands and stare right into your eyes. 

The two of you didn't know what to do. Heeseung wanted to stop your step mother but he was too late. He knew that the situation would worsen if he would interrupt her. 

"Be thankful that it is your birthday today, you brat." She whispered to your ear as she hardly shove your face out off her touch. She faked smiled at you and patted your head and patted Heeseung's shoulder. 

"Change your clothes now darlings... food is waiting." She sashayed away.

Your older brother would admit that your step mother is scary and dangerous for your Kingdom, but he still places his brave face every time she would scold you, and call you names. But every time your step mother turns her heels to go where she wishes, your older brother never failed to comfort you. 

Although you both know that you are now at your legal ages, you two never lose respect towards your parents even if your step mother would threat you for you to not to tell your father the cruel things she's planning for you and for your Kingdom. 

Your father didn't know what happened because you kept it as a secret and it would get worse if your father talk to your step mother about that issue. She would just fake an argument then acts like she is the victim and it would end up bad. 

Ever since your father remarried, your life went to the wrong direction. You sometimes become a puppet of your step mother and she would just love you if you would do what she wants you to do, even if it pains you to do so. You and Heeseung admit that you miss your mother so much that the two of you would shed a tear. 

Since your father commanded everyone in the castle to stay away to his and the former Queen's bedroom like a sort of treasure, you all obeyed him and once visit the bedroom every time you miss your mother and lock it after. 

You realized that your step mother would act as if she has a heart of gold on the outside, but deep inside, she is as sharp as a knife that could tear you apart if she wishes to. She would ask something to your father as if he is her 'Sugar daddy'. All she wanted is your wealth, and nothing more. You were disgusted by just thinking about it and sometimes fighting the urge not to gag in front of her because you don't want to get into trouble. 

After changing for breakfast, you went to the dining table and sit next to your father and Heeseung next to your step mother. Heeseung would probably wish to sit next to you because he always feels uncomfortable sitting with a dangerous woman, your step mother. 

You never thought she could be this evil. Taking your mother's place as a Queen yet she doesn't deserve the title. Your kingdom would never be this controlled as if the people are locked into their cages, losing their freedom to be happy.

He would give you an 'I don't wanna eat anymore' look every time he sits next to her, and you would just give him a reassuring look to make him think that if your step mother do something bad to the two of you, especially in front of your father, she would be dead in the ass and man... would it be nice to see her suffer from regret?

Your step mother gave you a smirk and look at your father.

"Happy birthday sweetheart! I will give you your surprise later at your party." Your father said and winked at you. 

'Is that the gift that I've been waiting for?' You thought for a moment, a smile forming on your lips.

But then it stops when you heard her ice cold voice. 

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, happy birthday darling!" She said, but you could feel the venom of her voice.

"I... too, have a gift for you. And it would also be a surprise.."

But little do you know that she is planning something fishy for your birthday...

You and Heeseung looked at each other worriedly probably sensing something...

Danger.
