In Between Rebellion and Freedom [ENHYPEN Jake x Reader]

Chapter 6

Heeseung, Ni-ki and Hwasa gave you a shocked expression, while Sunghoon, Jay, Jungwon and Sunoo smirked at Jake, looking at your locked hands.

The two of you quickly removed your hands with each other, leaving the ghost of warmness of your hands as you sit in between your brother and your cousin, while Jake sat with Sunghoon and the others.

Heeseung started the awkward situation with a low cough and started explaining the plan before the party.

"We all know that Y/n's birthday is today, and we are going to celebrate it at lunch." Your brother stated to them which they nodded in agreement.

"The fact that our father being remarried to our step mother, is a big threat for our Kingdom." You continued, leaving them with shocked expressions, including your cousin.

"So, what are you planning to do? What is she planning to do?" K asked the two teenagers as the others listen with concern.

"We all must be prepared. I encourage you all to bring your swords with you but don't let our parents' especially our step mother to know that you are armed." Heeseung said with pure seriousness lingering his voice. 

"But how would y'all know if your step mother is planning something fishy at Y/n's party?" Jay asked the teens.

"We could sense something unreadable... and we knew from the start that our step mother only likes our wealth. And she would do anything to inherit our wealth." You explained to them.

"The plan's like this. Just to be prepared, y'all bring your swords, tell your guards to send back up if something is not into place." You started.

"Y/n and I will watch our step mother secretly until we find out what she is planning to do."  Heeseung continued. 

"But..." You stopped mid sentence as you sense someone from afar who is listening to your conversation. 

"Nah, that's basically it." You smiled at them and looked at your brother.

"Oh brother, I wish we could win this.." You said and hugged your brother leaving him clueless but then you whispered something in his ear while hugging him.

"I can sense that someone is listening to our plan. Its dangerous so act with me, I have another plan." As you whispered that to your brother, he simply reacted by hugging you continuing the act.

Your brother could sense something too while the two of you were going to your training place merely a moment ago but he placed it aside. 

"So guys, the plan is all set. Meet us at the palace!" Heeseung said, as he broke the hug, stood up from his place and gave his friends a hug.

Heeseung's Pov

I thought I was just the only one who sensed something wrong while going to the training place, but my sister here is sharp. I couldn't be more proud for her. 

When she suddenly hugged me, I almost think that she is crazy. 

'Was it because of Jake? or the part when we saw their hands intertwined?' I thought but then she whispered at my ear.

"I can sense that someone is listening to our plan. Its dangerous so act with me, I have another plan." She whispered to me, so that I could understand so simply reacted by hugging her back continuing the act. 

As we finished our act, I stood up and told them that our plan is set. There I saw someone wearing all black, running. He thought I didn't see him but I could recognize him easily even his back. 

 'Kim Taehyung, our step mother's personal guard.' I thought.

I hugged my friends one by one and whispered to their ears, "Change of plans, double your security, bring ear pieces and meet us at the back door of the palace, armed. We have a secret garden there to discuss plan b. Don't ask why." I said then we all separated. 

After that, I eyed Y/n and nodded confirming that what we sensed is true.

Your Pov

Your brother finished saying goodbye to his friends, whom became yours too and you are happy to know that they are willing to help you fight the evilness of your step mother.

Heeseung eyed you and gave you a nod that confirms that what you sensed together is positive.

You hugged Hwasa and K and whispered to them, "You know where to meet later." then you winked at them, which they also winked back.

You hugged the rest of your friends and stopped at the front of Jake as you hugged him, ignoring the fluttering sensation that the two of you are sharing.

"Please be careful." He told you while tightening his hug around your waist.

"I will I promise." You said breaking the hug and gave him a warm smile that he happily returned.

You turned to your cousin who is waiting for you and hugged him tight.

"Were so sorry that we put you into this..." You said to him softly as if you are afraid to lose him.

"Its fine noona. I know that you are a brave person and you are the purpose why I trained hard. I wanted to be like you." What he said made you tear up and fight the urge not to cry.

"Thank you so much for believing in me Ni-ki. Noona is very happy. Love you.." You said breaking the hug and gave him a warm smile while patting his head.

"Love you too noona, and hyung." He also hugged Heeseung who is about to fetch you and tell you that you'll be heading back to prepare for your party and for plan b.

Meanwhile at the palace...

"Are you sure you trailed them without them knowing?" She asked with ice cold voice.

"Yes Your Highness... They want to ruin your plan for the Princess's birthday party. The Young Highnesses also brought some of their armies." He replied, his head looking at the ground.

The Queen smirked at the idea of her step children who wants to ruin her plan to finally get the wealth of their Kingdom, and the throne. 

Her idea is that she would just poison the King at the party and blame it to the maids then on cue, she will steal the Kingdom's treasure and claim the throne.

'So they wanted it the hard way?' She smirked at the thought and started to get ready for the party and for her plan.

 She patted his head and said, "Well done, Taehyung... you are not useless after all.."
