[flashback]

"Mom? What are they doing?"

A little Shoto was sitting inside their living room watching television. His mom is washing the dishes when he asked something to her. She noticed the movie that is playing on the television and she panicked.

"Shoto!" She exclaimed as she saw the television showing the sex scene from Titanic where Jack and Rose is kissing inside a vintage car.

Shoto looked at his mom with a confused face.

"Mom, why are they doing that? Are they playing?" Shoto innocently asked, pointing to the screen.

His mom don't know how to explain so she just let her mother instincts to do the work.

"K-Kind of? but they're doing it because they like each other romantically. It is a way for people to say that they like someone." Rei cautiously explained the whole situation to Shoto in her soft voice.

"Ohh, I see." Todoroki said.

The movie then went to the part where Jack and Rose said their I love you's.

"Mom, I don't understand. I only say I love you's to you and to Fuyumi neesan, Touya nii and big bro Natsuo but why do they say that to each other? They're obviously not blood related." Shoto asked, confusion ran endlessly inside his inmocent mind.

Rei looked at his son's eyes and chuckled, thinking his son is too cute for this world.

"...What's the difference between like and love mom?" Shoto added. Rei took a deep breath and positioned herself facing Shoto in a comfortable position.

"Shoto, liking someone means you want to stay beside them. You like someone because you're comfortable with them." Rei explained.

"...So they kiss because they like each other?" Shoto asked.

"There's a lot of ways of liking someone. You can like your friends because your comfortable with them but there's another meaning of liking anyone and that is only for one person who you think is the most special for you." Rei explained. "...that's how to can tell that you love someone."

"So, you can like 'like' someone?" Shoto asked curiously.

Rei chuckled to the term Shoto just invented and nodded her head.

Touya then entered the living room with a mischievous expression plastered in his face as he heard what the two is discussing.

"Hey Shoto! Do you like 'like' someone from your class?" Touya asked with a wicked smirk in his face, imitating Shoto's unclear pronounciation. Rei then scolded him from asking the little boy a senstive topic.

"Touya! He's a little ki--"

"W-well yeah, I actually have this urge to hug this boy from my class. He's so kind to me and I a-actually like 'like' him." Shoto proudly answered Touya's question which made both Touya and Rei look in surprise, looking at each other afterwards.

Shoto noticed how surprised the two is, making him feel like he did a mistake.

"...S-should I only like girls? It's ok for me to like a boy, right mom?" Shoto asked while frowning. Rei assured the boy, earning a smile and a pat to the head from his mother.

"Of course, son. As long as you really like someone, boy or girl, it doesn't matter. You will know it if you're honest to youself." Rei smiled while looking to his son's heterochromatic eyes.
