"Watch it you asshat!" Maya exclaimed as she quickly swerved out of the way and dodged the bludger. She rose up higher and scanned the field.

She saw a flicker of the snitch on the other side of the field and quickly went after it. The other Slytherin seeker seemed to catch on and immediately made their way after it as well.

Maya willed the broom to go faster as the boy came side to side with her. He rammed into her causing her to almost fall but she steadied herself. She inched forward before jolting down and after the snitch, taking the other seeker by surprise.

The crowd erupted in cheers as she dove further for the snitch. It shot up a bit and moved forward and she moved to grab it but narrowly missed. "Dammit," she mumbled. She carefully stood up on her broom as it continued to move forward before she jumped upward, successfully catching the snitch and rolled onto the ground, her broom falling down next to her.

"The things I do for this team," she groaned out as the players lowered themselves to the floor. James was the first to make it to her and he quickly launched her to her feet before pulling her into a hug. "It's just a game, Potter."

"Yes, a game that you won," he pointed out as he pulled away from her, his hands resting on either side of her upper arms, "That was awesome."

She smiled at him but before she could respond she was removed from his grasp as the field was flooded with Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students, all pulling her into a hug and congratulating her on the win.

"Party in our common room," one of the Ravenclaw's announced as everyone chorused in agreement. "To Maya!"

"To Maya!" everyone chanted and she sent everyone a tight lipped smile as everyone pushed past her.

"Hey, are you coming?" James asked Maya as the crowd thinned out.

"What?" she asked, shaking her head slightly as she focused on the boy in front of her. "Oh, um, yeah. I'll be there in a minute."

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just tired is all," she nodded, "I'll meet you all there."

"Yeah, okay," he agreed.

Maya smiled slightly and he watched her for a moment before walking off. She let out a breath as she turned around, a few drops of rain hitting her warm skin. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as the few drops turned into a sprinkle.

"Maya, we need to talk," someone spoke from behind her and she turned around to find Regulus standing there.

He appeared to be nervous about something. He wrung his hands as he looked from side to side. Maya frowned at his demeanor and stepped closer to him, "What's going on?" The rain slowly started to get harder and Maya shook her head, "We should talk inside, it's starting to pour."

"No it's better to be out here," he explained, looking around anxiously, "Where they can't hear us."

Maya's eyes furrowed in confusion. She looked around for a moment as she processed what was happening. The storm was only over the Quidditch field. And Regulus was causing it. "What's going on?"

"Mother has a plan."

"And what is it?"

"You know I can't tell you that."

"So then what are you doing here, Regulus?" Maya huffed, wiping her now drenched hair out of her face, "What's the point of saying anything to me at all?"

"Whatever she asks you to do, just do it," he pleaded, "You'll only lose in the end if you don't."

"You can't be serious," Maya scoffed. "What would lead you to believe I would just go along with one of mother's plans? And when would I ever prematurely agree to do it when I don't even know what it is."

"Please."

"No, Regulus," she shook her head, "I won't."

"Maya, please-"

"I have a celebration to get to," she explained as she started to walk away, "Make the rain stop before someone notices."

She started her way back to the castle with a huff. The rain stopped as soon as she had gotten off the Quidditch field and she shook her head, allowing some water to shake off of her soaking wet hair.

Maya ran her hands through her hair in an attempt to get rid of the tangles as she walked toward the Ravenclaw common room. She would stop by for a little. Say hello to everyone and chat for a short time before going to her room and showering.

A pair of seemingly tipsy Ravenclaw's were making their way out as she had arrived and she was quick to catch the door. She walked in and saw that everyone was already celebrating.

"Maya!" James shouted from across the room and Maya searched for him, her eyes landing on his a moment later.

He stumbled across the room and slung his arm over shoulders, "It's nice of you to join us. What took you so long?" The bottle of firewhiskey he held sloshed in his hands and his nose wrinkled slightly. "Hey, you're wet," James announced as he released the girl.

"That's quite the observation you've made there, Potter," she mused before taking the bottle of firewhiskey he had been holding to which he pouted.

"Give that back."

She shook her head before placing the head of the bottle to her lips and taking a swing of it, "I need a chance to catch up."
