While his personal life was seeing a high, thanks to Forth, his professional life was most certainly not. Beam just had another consultation with Star and his father and he was still underestimating and doubting Beam's abilities and at this point, he found it very insulting and he was so tired of prejudiced patients. That night, he was super frustrated and was dragging his feet ready to just crash.
When he got home. He saw that there was a light on in the backyard. He approached the backdoor only to notice that Forth was standing there next to the light. Beam had never been happier to see another person and enthusiastically opened the door. Just then Forth hurried to him saying, "Wait! Stop right there." Beam was confused but he did as he was told.
Forth came up and gave him a little kiss and a hug and seamlessly blindfolded him. Beam giggled and asked, "What's going on?" Forth held him by the shoulders and said, "Give me a minute." He came back and started slowly guiding him forward, once he was happy with where they were, he took off the blindfold and whispered, "Ta-daa!"
Beam slowly blinked his eyes open and let out a gasp. All the lights had been installed and the backyard was fully completed. He couldn't say anything. He couldn't even breathe, because it was everything he had wanted, and it looked even better with the lights installed. Beam kept turning around and taking everything in.
He turned around with glittering eyes and said, "Forth, it's perfect! I cannot believe it's all mine." He flung himself onto Forth and gave him a big hug, laughing, with tears in his eyes. Forth hugged him back rubbing the back of his head lovingly. Beam pulled back a little and kissed him, "Thank you!" he said with adoration in his eyes.
Forth held him by the waist and pulled him back in for a deeper kiss like he couldn't help himself. After a few seconds, Beam gently pushed him away and excitedly said, "Show me everything." He was beaming his 1000W smile and Forth couldn't do anything but comply. He showed Beam every little feature and enjoyed all of Beam's 'ooh's and aah's'.
They finally got to the gazebo. While Beam was looking at the vines draped over the structure and the fairy lights, Forth took a seat on a lounge chair. Beam then turned around and sighed happily, "I love it so much!" he said happily. Forth gestured at Beam and said, "Come here!" He happily went and sat on the lounge chair with Forth. Forth pulled him and Beam settled comfortably cuddling with his head on Forth's chest and Forth's arm around his shoulders. He felt so safe and felt his worries from the day slowly melt away.
Forth kissed the top of his head and asked, "How was your day?" Beam whined, "Terrible. There's this man, a patient's father, he's the worst. He doesn't trust my abilities just because I'm young and he second guesses everything I say. He wants everything to be approved by a "senior" whatever that means. He doesn't understand that just because someone is older, it doesn't mean they're better. It's such bullshit!" he grumbled the last part.
Forth gave him a sympathetic groan, which he felt rumble through his head because he was laying on his chest and he smiled a little. Forth then said, "I'm sorry babe. That guy sounds like a douchebag and that sucks." He then said, "Can I do anything to make you feel better?" Beam just smiled and snuggled into Forth and said, "Let's just stay like this for a while." Forth chuckled and said, "Sure, we can stay like this for however long you like."
After about twenty minutes of the cuddle session, Beam's stomach gave a loud rumble and Forth laughed and said, "Uh oh, looks like someone's hungry. Want me to make you some dinner?" Beam immediately looked up at him and said, "Yes please." Forth stole a quick kiss and they both got up and went inside.
Once they got in, Forth put on the apron and got right to work making a quick fried rice because he knew that Beam needed to be fed soon or he was going to get hangry. Beam settled on one of the stools at the island and just watched Forth. Forth turned around and smiled, "Are you just going to sit there and stare? Why don't you go take a shower? The food will be ready by the time you come out.
Beam groaned and said, "I know I should, but I really don't want to." Forth looked at him sympathetically but Beam got up and dragged himself to his room to take a shower. Forth chuckled to himself enjoying seeing Beam act like that. He then got some frozen mixed vegetables and whipped up an egg fried rice as fast as he could.
Just as he finished putting the food on the table, he heard Beam's door open. When he looked up, his mouth went dry because, Beam just had on some boxers with one of his t-shirts that he had accidentally left there, and it was slightly big on him. He looked positively delicious, glowing and pink from the warm shower and in his shirt. Forth felt like he was going to lose his mind, but he schooled his features reminding himself that Beam was hungry, and he had to eat.
While Forth was having that internal monologue, Beam had walked up and sat at the table. He said "Hmm Forth it smells good. Thank you." Forth shook himself and smiled and said, "Dig in then, what are you waiting for?" "Join me." He said and when Forth did, he served both of them and started eating happily. Forth smiled and asked him, "So, now that the backyard is ready, when are you going to host your house-warming party?"
Beam looked up at him and sadly said, "Oh man, I haven't had the time to plan for that at all. It's going to be a nightmare to find a day that works for everyone. I think I'm just going to send out a doodle poll." He sighed. Forth then asked, "How many people do you think you're going to invite?" At that Beam started thinking and rattling off people, "Oh well, there's Kit and Pha with their boyfriends, then Pete & Kao and June too, P'Arthit & P'Kongpob, P'Type & P'Tharn, also some people from the hospital probably about five, of course I'll have to invite the neighbors." Forth was surprised at that and asked, "So how many is that?" Beam thought about it and said, "About twenty-five." Forth nodded but then he said, "Wait, you are going to invite your parents, right?" Beam almost choked on the food and once he drank some water, just nodded, and said, "Of course" while dreading that part.
Once they had both finished eating, Beam was almost falling asleep at the table and Forth shook him gently and said, "Babe, just go and sleep. I'll wash up and head home." Beam looked up, with some hurt in his eyes asked, "Why are you leaving?" Forth immediately felt bad for having inadvertently caused Beam some hurt. He hugged him and whispered in his ears, "I'm leaving because, you are tired and the way you look right now, in my shirt, it's taking all the will power in me to not take you right now." He then looked at Beam and licked his lips, "That's why I have to leave." He finished and kissed Beam's cheek which was as red as a tomato.
As much as Beam wanted to throw caution to the wind and ask Forth to take him to bed, he was right, he was way too tired. So, he just got up and hurried to his room, still blushing like crazy. Just before he closed his door, he turned around and said, "Good night Forth! Dream about me!" he winked and blew him a kiss before shutting his door. Forth yelled, "You are such a damn tease" and thought to himself, that he has to make him pay for that.
