Alexandra woke up to soft whispers down near her stomach and Nicholas' fingertips on her exposed skin. "Nicky?" she mumbled, rubbing her hand over her eyes. "Oh, hey. Did I wake you up?" he asked shifting up to her. "Yeah, I heard you talkin' to them," she said. "You still doin' that?" "Yeah, I wanna make sure they know my voice" he responded. "Huzzy, I'm nine weeks pregnant, they can't hear you yet" she mumbled, laughing softly at him. "I know, but just in case" he told her, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Just in case their ears are magically the first thing to develop?" she teased. "Just in case" he said softly kissing her. She smiled, closing her eyes again. "Okay, Mama's gonna sleep again" she mumbled. "You can keep talking to them though." "Alright, sleep well Mama" he said, kissing her forehead. He gently rubbed the back of her neck until she was fast asleep, then moved down to her stomach. "Hi baby" he whispered. "Alright, I gotta be quiet now so Mama doesn't hear but I can talk to you for a little bit longer. I can't wait to see you again in a few weeks and see how much you've grown. And, that's when Mama's gonna start growing too. I can't wait to see her with a bump and show you off to the whole world" he looked up at her to make sure she was still asleep, then whispered to her stomach "God, I hope you have her beauty. I just know you'll make everything so much better. I can't wait to meet you" he moved back up, wrapping his arms around Alexandra snuggly. She subconsciously melted against him, tucking her head against his neck. "You make everything perfect" he whispered
