How to write a Classical world? Show the features of the particular time that you wanted to convey. Be it in the 70’s or 80’s or the century before that. No matter the time that you choose, you only have to update yourself with the knowledge of the things that exist in that period. Know the details of the various objects that are common to the people before and thus, upon writing it, you’ll have others relate to it. You can also search for the famous or the most visited places in that time. After knowing all these, put the pieces altogether with the right and interesting scenes. Visualize them with the right amount of five-sense rule. Make your character feel the place, show how one sees about it. Be it a landmark of your own if you must. You can do anything about the world that you create, but remember that what stays in the Classical place are the things that truly existed that time. You cannot go past the boundary of adding things to your liking even though in real life, they don’t really happened in that part of the past. Unless you are writing a fantasy, that is.
