"Is this person by any occasion, 'Mathias Køhler'?" An elderly woman said calmly. Of course, it was, could there be anyone else? The pair of tribe leaders had been close since the two met.
All the eyes in the room went from the older woman, towards Lukas. He let out a chuckle "There is no other soul in this life I would desire to spend my life with and long after Valhalla requests upon us." He calmly brings out, his eyes have a warm glimpse in them recalling his fiance.
A grin appeared on the older woman's face. His words sounded cheesy yet so full of love that everyone would feel a bit jealous regarding their relationship. She rose from her chair and stepped towards the younger man. She spoke softly while laying her icy hand on his upper arm, "I'm delighted that you've found the love you deserve."
Lukas responded with a grin, she let go of his arm and stood near him quietly. Both Norwegians studied the other seniors in the room. Their leader's eyes remained filled with hope that could be damaged so effortlessly by just a few people.
Further away, in what is momentarily Denmark, Mathias had finally arrived homeward. He happily hopped off the ship that permitted him to cross the seas. The landing on the wooden dock wasn't as solid as the Dane required it to be, he staggered a bit before finding his balance. He turned back towards the now incoming boats. the wind whirled through his hair while a wide smile appeared on his face.
When all ships were in sight Mathias took off, he ran as fast as he could towards the wooden house of his parents. He wanted to ask them first, they had not known about his relationship with Lukas yet.
When the danish leader had arrived he energetically knocked on the door. It didn't take look before the door swung open. His father stood in the door opening with his mother behind him. The younger Dane jumped into his parent's arms, they exchanged how happy they were that he had returned safely.
Mathias nodded and smiled, "I have something that I would like to tell you, can I come in?" He asked becoming a bit nervous. They looked quite surprised but agreed to let him in, they were his parents after all.
His parents sat down while their son stood in front of them, he became more nervous with the second. The danish leader played with his hands nervously. "I'm sorry that I haven't told you this before, but Lukas and I have been in a romantic relationship for some time." Mathias was too afraid to look at his parent's reaction, so the tall Dane decided to stare at the ground until he finished his story. "Lukas nearly died after the battle, which made me realise that I want to spend every second of my life with him. Therefore I asked him to become my husband."
Mathias looked up and stared right at his parents, they looked surprised. He couldn't read any other expression yet. "I'm really sorry for not telling the both of you, but please allow me to marry him! I love him a lot..." A gentle smile appeared on his fathers face and his mother ran forward to hug him. "All she whispered was 'Congratulations, My son.'" Both of them started tearing up while the older Danish man joined their hug.
A few days passed and Mathias had achieved a letter from Lukas, hopefully with good news. The Dane couldn't wait to open it. This was it, all he had been waiting for. It could be everything, his glory or downfall. He opened the letter and started reading the old Norwegian letters on the paper.
'Dear Mathias, It took a long talk to convince them however it was worth it because they permitted me to become your husband. They do nevertheless require you to meet with the elders of your tribe. We also need to discuss the issue of both of us being tribe leaders. Sincerely, Lukas.' A huge smile appeared on the Dane's face while he stormed off towards his parents.
The blonde man nearly busted the door of his parent's house wanting to share the news. his parents unmistakably confused glanced at him with a questioning expression on their faces.
Mathias shoved the hand-written letter of his now-fiancee in their face. The smiles on their faces grew while the eyes of the who slowly slid down the note.
The taller man's mother was the first one to complete the letter. She let go of the note leaving it entirely to her husband to read. She launched herself into the arms of her son. His father too had finished reading the letter by that time, he waited patiently, with a tender smile resting on his face.
Back at the Bondevik tribe, "hell" had broken out. Not in a negative way, at least for most people. Unfortunately enough for Lukas, he was not as social, which meant the enormous party that was held for him being engaged, appeared to be hell for him.
Everybody was dancing, playing loud music and singing along. The giant campfire was lighting the open space. The Norwegian tribe leader was resting from the sidelines looking at people dancing happily. He may feel uncomfortable, he was glad to see that his people were satisfied with his engagement.
