<early afternoon>
[at the hospital]
(Third person P. O. V)
That afternoon, Dec, Anne and Christine went to hospital to see Ant whilst Ali stayed home with Isla and dogs. As soon they arrived at reception, a nurse led them to private wards and told them to wait in the relatives room whilst she went to find Ant's Doctor.
[in the relatives room]
Whilst waiting for Ant's doctor, Anne and Christine sitting quietly but Dec was checking his phone. Anne noticed and saw Dec worried look, so she worriedly asked.
"Is everything alright Decky?"
"No Mam, everything not alright. I'm getting stuff from reporters asking me about Ant and the accident, and I really don't need this right now." Dec replied whilst starting to get a bit stressed.
"Hey now Decky, calm down son. Why not just leave it until later. Right now, we're here for Anthony." Anne calmly said to her son.
Dec listened to his mother and put his phone back into his pocket. Just then, a female doctor came in and started asking.
"Which one of you is Mrs McPartlin?"
"I am." Christine replied.
The doctor approached them and shook hands with her and politely said.
"I'm Doctor Brown, I'm in charge of your son's case."
"Nice to meet you." Christine kindly greeted.
The doctor then turned to Anne and Dec and politely asked.
"I take that you're Mr Declan Donnelly, Mr McPartlin's friend and this is your mother Mrs Donnelly?"
"Yes we are." Anne replied for both her and Dec.
"Please tell us Doctor? How bad is my Anthony?" Christine pleadingly asked.
Doctor Brown sat down on one of the chairs in the room and kindly started explaining.
"I'm afraid Mrs McPartlin, your son has suffered serious injuries. He was lucky enough not to have a brain injury but his body took most of the hit from the car."
"So if his body took most of the damage, why is he in a coma?", asked Dec.
"The reason why we've put him in a medically induced coma Mr Donnelly is so his body can have time to heal and so can his organs but as for his leg, that's going to take some time heal as well. It will also help to reduce any swelling from his brain whilst he's induced." Doctor Brown kindly answered.
Christine began crying again but Anne comforted her and gave her hand and Dec's hand a squeeze. Dec, trying to get over the shock, shakily asked.
"C-c-can w-W-we s-s-see him, please?"
"Of course Mr Donnelly, allow me to take you all there." Doctor Brown kindly offered.
Doctor Brown kindly then took Christine, Annie and Dec to Ant's room.
[outside Ant's room]
(Third person P. O. V)
Once they were outside Ant's room, Doctor Brown left to see another patient. Christine started to worry and so did Dec but Anne calmed them by gently saying.
"Come on, we're here for Anthony."
After getting reassured, the three of them then went in to Ant.
[inside the room]
When they were inside, the sight of Ant upset both Christine and Annie but shocked Dec. Ant had stitches where his head injury was, he was white as the bed sheets, had tubes coming out of his mouth and hooked onto a ventilator, had IV lines in his arms and had a cast on his injured leg.
"He looks so ill." Christine whispered as she and Anne sat down on the one side of the bed.
"The poor boy." Annie gasped.
As for Dec, he sat on the other side of Ant's bed but couldn't say a word. He couldn't stand seen his best mate looking so ill and injured.
"Oh Ant, what did that kid do to you?" Dec asked himself whilst having fresh tears fall down his eyes.
Christine gently got up and placed a kiss on Ant's head and sat back down again but started to have tears coming from her eyes.
"I hope that driver who did this gets punished for what he did to my son." Christine said in a angry way.
"I agree and I also hope that the parents of that driver are ashamed.", said Anne.
But before Dec could say anything, the three of them heard rowing from outside the room.
"What on earth is that?", asked Anne.
The three of them then got up from their chairs and headed outside to see what was going but once they did; they couldn't believe their eyes.
