Eddie's POV

It felt rather surreal, finally being reunited with Steph at her home in Utah. I had been planning on this move for years. Since the idea had been planted in my head all those years ago way before I sat my GCSEs. Now it was really happening.

Steph showed me round her lovely new home just south of Salt Lake City, a little suburb called West Jordan. It's a dainty little house, exactly what you imagine an all American house in an all American suburb would look like. Steph works as a nurse in the city and has been for a few years so she could afford it pretty quickly.

"Fancy a walk into town when you're ready? It's only 10 minutes?" Steph suggested and the idea was like music to my ears.
"Yes! I could do with stretching my legs" I agreed enthusiastically. So after quickly readying ourselves we set out. The air was still hot, it felt soft and soothing against my bare skin, a feeling I could easily get used to.
"I can get used to this weather" I joked as we strolled down the street, it 'sidewalk', I inhaled deeply, "oh and the views, those mountains are stunning" I admitted taking in the beautiful scenery.
"It's so pretty isn't it? Those mountains over there are called twin peaks" Steph pointed out the jagged, imposing mountains.
"Like the tv show" I chuckled, admiring the name.
"Yeah" Steph chuckled in response. "So I guess I'll just give you a quick tour of the town then, you can get your bearings then. Point out the essentials like high point coffee, it's so much cheaper than Starbucks and actually tastes just as good. Also there is a little old lady that works there who sometimes give free cookies out" Steph nodded, clearly understanding me very well already.
"Oh I'll definitely be going there then" I chuckled, liking the sound of that.
"Also the thrift shop around that corner, always has amazing condition Levi's for like 5 dollars, just saying" Steph continued.
" wow, you should write a book or something" I chuckled, admiring the knowledge that was being imparted upon me.

We continued to walk around the town for a little while, I gradually got my bearings and was much more comfortable.
"Hungry?" Steph wandered as we finished a tour of the town.
"Yeah I am actually" I responded, distracted by my jet lag and curiosity to notice my hunger.
"Mexican or a burgers" Steph quizzed me. I pondered for a moment.
"Mexican" I replied, unusually decisive for once.
"Right then, rancheritos it is then. This place is really good" she gave an approving nod before leading us over to the restaurant.

We ate until we couldn't manage another mouthful. The food was really good, so much tastier than plane food. It thrilled me to know this could be my go to fast food joint for the next few years. After we ate we sat and enjoyed our cokes before heading back. We also began discussing the adult things like a bank card, phone credit and cars. I had just under a week before I enrolled at the university so I could get everything sorted. We made a little checklist of things for me to get sorted on a paper napkin. It seemed endless but we planned the week out and we'd just about have it all done in time. We agreed that I could probably tick a few small tasks that evening such as paper work for college and sorting out my phone.

Around 10 ish, with my phone now successfully on American soil, I finally took the time to check my social media's. I browsed my Instagram, only to find a notification, I hardly got any notifications through there. I tapped on it to find a new follower 'ronnievannucciphoto'. Who is this? I wondered as I tapped on it. Ohhhhh. It made sense. It was Ron from the journey. Jheeze 3.600 followers! The journey seemed like days ago but the notification brought it all back to me. I smiled and followed him back. I guess I could say I had a celebrity on Instagram now, I thought to myself.

Then I checked my Facebook whilst I was at it and now to no surprise I had a friend request. Jessica Holt. It must be Brandon's cousin. I accepted her request and a message from her instantly came through. She seemed quite cool and so I read her message carefully and then crafted my response. I thanked her for offering to welcome me to the college and that I looked forward to meeting her.
