Brandon's POV

It's been just about a month since Eddie and I decided to stop walking on egg shells. It's been wonderful. My time has been spent working on lyrics, my fitness, and spending time with family and now that meant Eddie too. Eddie is currently much busier than I am. She's always doing something, at college, doing an assignment for college. If she's not doing that she's playing soccer or hanging out with her new college friends. We still find the time to be with each other though and if anything, the time we do have together is certainly golden. It's now November and the temperature is dropping significantly here in Utah. The sunsets are always deep oranges and purples, beautiful.

Today the church is having an open ceremony thing so I figured it'd be a good opportunity to show Eddie. She's seen the Flowers gang a few times on a Sunday, all dressed in our Sunday best and heard our church chatter but this was her chance to actually see what goes on. She even admitted afterwards that she might try and attend a bit more often, so she can be a part of it with me a little more. That news was music to my ears.
"That's so sweet of her" my sister cooed as I told her the news. We were sat in dads back yard, sipping root beer and coke, watching as the kids and Eddie played softball.
" I know, honestly sis, she just keeps ticking all the boxes y'know" I sipped my coke, feeling butterflies in my stomach as I said those words.
"Honestly Bran, I'm so happy for you. You come alive when you're together, you have the same air as when you're on stage" she explained, placing a loving hand on my knee. "Hold onto her Bran" she said just as the kids erupted into laughter. They had now decided to play dizzy softball and it was Eddie's turn.
"Oh no" I chuckled, watching as Eddie spun herself around the baseball bat, surrounded by a handful of children, all goading her on and giggling. "This isn't going to end well" I sighed, almost not wanting to watch. The children then cheered as Eddie stepped up to the mark, swaying all about. She had her game face on.
"Go save her Brandon" Dad called over from behind us, as he joined us in watching the spectacle. Like the good son and boyfriend I am, I placed my coke down and jogged over to the game. Eddie was laughing uncontrollably as she then made a run for it, zig zagging all over the lawn, nowhere near where she was supposed to be going. With a finger on my lips to keep the children quiet, I stalked up behind Eddie as she staggered across the grass, gasping for air between her belly laughs. When I was essentially upon her, I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her into me before swinging her around. The children erupted into laughter once more as she squealed and laughed.
"That's cheating Uncle Brandon!" The children heckled as I carefully placed Eddie back on her feet.
"There's no rules?" I shrugged, hands on hips, also needing to catch my breath now.
"Thats not fair though! Everyone get Uncle Brandon!" the children simultaneously erupted and flung themselves at me, I tried to make a run for it but Eddie managed to corner me. Well fuck, I thought. I couldn't go back, the little'ens would have me. Instead I tried to skip past Eddie but instead she caught me. I did my best to act disappointed but before anyone could notice, I was swamped by the little'ens and pulled to the ground. After what felt like hours but was actually less than 5 minutes, the children ran out of energy and left me flat as a pancake on the lawn to get ice cream.
"Oh my Prince Charming, look at the state of you" Eddie mocked, sitting and watching as I peeled myself off the ground.
"I don't know where they get the energy" I chuckled, standing myself up and brushing myself down.
"Ice cream, lots of ice cream" she chuckled, brushing some mud from my arm. I nodded in agreement.
"That's not just for the kids" I sighed, looping an arm over Eddie's shoulders, "come one let's go get some" I insisted, leading us towards the house.

Eddie's POV

My time in Utah was flying by. It was turning towards late November, nights were drawing in and the temperature dropping. Assignments were looming and college was becoming stressful. Soccer was picking up and we were killing each week on the pitch. I was starting to feel like I belong. Especially with the routine Brandon and I settled into. During the week we hardly saw each other but Friday evenings we would be reunited. Then Saturday I'd have my soccer, sometimes he'd come watch then sundays are when I recovered before going to see him again, sometimes his family too.
