Eddie's POV

After having done some research on The Killers, encouraged by Steph of course, it felt rather strange being in a truck having a somewhat normal conversation with the lead singer. I wasn't starstruck though, I knew him as just Brandon initially so I can't change that now even if I did rather like his music.

After a 20 minute drive out into the desert, gently teasing one another as the barren yet gorgeous scenery whizzed by us in a blur. We made it to the view point Brandon was talking about and what a view it was.
"Oh my...." I blurted as we pulled up, the only ones in the car park. Excitedly, I jumped straight out of the truck and walked towards the bench. You could see for miles.
"Not bad hey" Brandon's soft voice called from behind me as he approached me.
"It's..." I couldn't find a word to do it justice. We stood in silence for a moment, taking in the glorious sunset for all its wonder. "Sorry" I shook my head, turning to face Brandon, who stood facing forwards still.
"Huh?" He pulled himself from his trance and furrowed his brow.
"You've probably seen that a hundred times" I said lightly, swatting my hand.
"And it still gets me" he gave a chuckle, "it's ok" he smiled sweetly, his chestnut eyes flicking to mine.
"This business proposal?" I cleared my through, regaining my composure. "We should probably discuss that before we get distracted".
"Get distracted?" Brandon's brows knitted together again.
"Exactly!" I grinned, resisting the trap.
"Why would we get distracted?" His brows tightened even further, making me doubt my myself.
"I...Erm..." I stuttered, suddenly overwhelmed by nerves.
"I'm joking" Brandon places a hand on my arm and flashed a toothy grin. I inhaled deeply out of relief. "Well, to cut a long story short, Ron and I would like you to do our next album cover" he explained, suddenly a seriousness to his voice.
"Oh Brandon" i lost my breath again, this was crazy news.
"But wait..." his hand returned to my arm again, "we've had a slight change of plan so it might be a little while in the future yet" his eyes dropped to the floor in front of him.
"Ok" I nodded, slowly taking in his words.
"We're sort of taking a break for a couple months before we actually get formally started on the album" he admitted, clearly feeling quite self conscious about the subject.
"Oh that's ok Brandon. Honestly, I'm so flattered that you'd even consider me" I beamed, willing his eyes to glance up to meet mine.
" Eddie?" he turned to me and paused. His eyes finally meeting mine, a seriousness to his voice "I want some ice cream, shall we go get some?" he declared.
"Huh?" I coughed, not sure I heard him correctly.
"Do you want some ice cream?" He repeated, a twinkle in his eyes.
"Sure?" I nodded, slightly confused but definitely wanting some ice cream.
"Come on then" he grabbed my hand in haste and pulled me towards his truck. I laughed like a school girl as we rushed into his truck.
We jumped in and within seconds Brandon had his foot down and we were on our way for urgent ice cream.

"Oh this song!" Brandon called out. I don't know whether he was more excited about ice cream or the Springsteen song that came on the radio. I chuckled as I watched a fully absorbed Brandon rock out along to the track. He glanced at me, but he hadn't a care in the world.
"Can't start a fire, can't start a fire without a spark!" He began to sing along. His voice drowned out by the radio. His enthusiasm and energy was contagious and I soon found myself joining in. Heads bobbing, voices singing along in unison, I couldn't stop giggling as I let loose. Then, too soon, the song faded out and Brandon let out a sigh.
"Oh that felt good" he chuckled, turning the radio down a touch.
"You don't say" I teased, watching him intently.
"Hey miss, you were enjoying yourself too" he glared back in mock shock. I swallowed hard, suddenly feeling shy. "It was cute" he admitted nonchalantly. Did he just? No, he probably didn't mean it like that?
"Can't resist a bit of Bruce?" I shrugged, my only attempt at defending myself.
" exactly" he smirked, his eyes back on the road. "Ooh yes, here we are" he announced as we quickly approached an ice cream place.

Taking control, Brandon drove us through the drive through and asked me what I wanted. Opting for Oreo, Brandon went for a brownie flavor and soon enough we were sat in the car park enjoying our frozen delicacies, the radio still humming away in the background.
"This was a good shout, good choice Brandon" I admitted, savoring the ice cream.
"Just don't get any on my seat" Brandon shot, paralyzing me with guilt. "I'm joking, don't worry" he chuckled, sensing my fear. His hand resting on my wrist.
"You gave me a heart attack" I sighed in relief, colliding my eyes momentarily.
"I don't want to drop you back off at home" he admitted randomly, catching me off guard. I licked the last of my ice cream before taking a bite out of the cone, avoiding responding the Brandon's comment. "I really enjoy your company Eddie" he admitted, now staring at his ice cream. Oh shit. I was not expecting this kind of revelation. He turned to look at me. His eyes honest with a hint of sadness.
