Spencer's POV:

"We have a case. Be at the office in ten." Hotch's voice rang through the line. He had called Spencer in to work, and he did the same for the others.

"Sounds good Hotch." Spencer rubbed his eyes and hung up the phone. He got out of bed to get dressed and grabbed his go bag on the way out. Hotch had called him at 4am this morning --not that Spencer was getting much sleep anyway. He felt groggy but couldn't sleep for more than an hour or two before waking up; getting called in saved him from his insomnia demons.

Spencer had taken the metro to work, like usual, and walked the rest of the way to the BAU. Once he got there with the rest of the team, Hotch called everyone to the round table for the briefing. Y/n stood in front of the screen holding the remote and her ipad, and everyone else settled in their seats around the table. Spencer eyed her, noticing that something was off. Her skin was paler than usual and she refused to make eye contact with him. The smile that typically played on her face had perished and instead was replaced by her biting the inside of her cheek.

Hotch interrupted his thoughts, "Let's get started."

Y/n began to speak, "Okay. Atlanta Field Office has a serial on their hands." She clicked a button on the remote that brought up the pictures of the female victims. "Two prostitutes, stabbed and staged in the last two weeks."

One of Spencer's statistics popped in mind, "Atlanta's crime rate has skyrocketed over the past few years. Especially the proliferation of solicited sex and drug use in the downtown district."

Emily nodded, "Maybe this guy thinks he's cleaning up the city?"

JJ's brows furrowed in thought, "It's rare for an unsub who targets prostitutes to pose the bodies. Means of disposal usually reflects how the person feels towards them."

"It looks like he didn't think poorly of his victims. Even kept them dressed." Rossi added.

Derek turned back to the screen studying the state of the victims' bodies. "He could be filled with remorse. The arms are folded, the bodies are laid to rest in a quiet park outside the city. Maybe he knew them?"

Emily continued, "It could be personal. There's a lot of rage in these kills. Multiple stab wounds."

Rossi turned to Y/n, "What about sexual violations?"

"No. The M.E.'s report says there's no evidence of sexual activity before death." She said as she shook her head.

Garcia stopped typing on her laptop, her eyes perking up to the main screen, "So what's he doing with them?"

Hotch sighed and answered, "That's what we need to find out. Wheels up."

They all filed out of the room, grabbing their go-bags on the way out to board the jet.

Y/n settled herself in one of the four seats in the back of the jet, and Spencer sat across from her while the rest of the team had spread out.

Once in the air, everyone gathered around the main table by the wings to continue the briefing and look further into the files.

Y/n's phone began to ring and she excused herself away from the group to answer it. Spencer watched her as she made her way to the back, looking for any more red flags but before he could continue, Emily began to speak.

"Both of the victims had $250 on them when they were found. Why wouldn't the unsub take that?"

She resumed flipping through the crime scene photos on her iPad as Rossi added. "It's a lot to pass up. Money must not be on his mind."
