"And so Raven told me that if I ever wanted to see my laptop again, I had go stay with my mother for a week literally just so they could have sex" Clarke laughed as she held out the cup for Lexa to sip her drink. Somehow, at some point, Clarke had ended up sitting in Lexa's lap in the wheelchair, holding both of their glasses. She supposed it made extra chair space for other company.

The table erupted with laughter, including Lexa.

"And so what did you do?" Asked Octavia, who was huddled into Lincoln's side. They had both introduced themselves before, and Clarke had tried extremely hard to hide the fact she already sort of knew who they were, given her rather drowsy state.

"Well I left! It was that or I spent every night without my laptop having to listen to them in the room next door" She cackled. The table shrieked with laughter once more

From the corner of her eye, she could see Costia watching closely in the distance. It wasn't envy in her eyes, but there was certainly some form of distance. Clarke was too drunk to care.

"Well, we think we're going to go dance." Lincoln announced, standing and taking Octavia's hand chivalrously "It was a pleasure to meet you Clarke. Lexa, please get in touch soon. It would be great to start seeing you again"

Lexa nodded at him and looked to Clarke

"How do you feel about dancing Lexa?" Clarke asked with a smile

"I can't dance. I'm in a wheelchair. You do remember that, right?"

"And that stops you how?"

Lexa raised her eyebrows "because I can't move my legs...?"

"Oh please you have the stick thing" Clarke said, pointing to Lexa's controls on her wheelchair "So I'll ask again. How do you feel about dancing, Lexa?"

"You truly are peculiar aren't you, Clarke?"

Clarke grinned "I try to be"

"Fine" Lexa sighed, her fingers twitching on the controls to lead them towards the open space reserved for dancing and dancing only.

Lincoln and Octavia were drunkenly spinning, laughing as the girl grabbed onto his shirt when she started getting dizzy. Other couples swung to the more lifting beat, grins plastered on their faces.

"So. I never knew you were the suit kind of girl, Lexa" Clarke said, fingertips brushing the collar of Lexa's shirt.

"Then clearly you must be blind Miss Griffin" Lexa spoke quietly into her ear "Besides, it's a lot easier to get dressed if I wear a suit. Dresses are a pain in my ass and everyone else's ass to even attempt to change into"

"I can imagine" Clarke whispered.

They spent a large proportion of the night 'dancing'. Clarke had ceased the controls of the chair at one point, and they had begun softly spinning and turning to the music. It was one of the most peculiar dances Clarke had ever had... and yet it was also one of the best.

Lexa was almost glowing. Something that was rare to see in a girl who always seemed to be so down. Her radiating eyes held a life in them that Clarke never believed she would ever see, and yet, it was right in front of her. The warmth from Lexa's body reminded Clarke exactly what she was. She was human.

The bodies around them seemed to grow in mass, and the lively look in Lexa's eyes began to fade. Even Clarke herself was growing claustrophobic as the standing bodies stood over them.

"I think I would like to take a breather outside. Would that be okay, Clarke?" She said quietly.

"Of course. I'll be right here okay? I'll come out and make sure you're okay"
