With Lexa safely placed back in the comforts of her chair and dressed for the day, they rolled down the ramp, out of the shade and into the warm heat of the Tahiti sun. Lexa squinted her eyes at the sudden amount of light invading her retinas.

"Ugh. It's so bright" She mumbled

"Yikes. You're like a teenager trapped in an adult woman's body." Clarke rolled her eyes, plucking the sunglasses propped up on the top of her head and gently placing them on Lexa's face, pushing them up her nose so they didn't slip back down.

"A paralyzed adult woman" Lexa added

"Oh nooo.. the light. My vampire teenage skin! Hiss..." Clarke mocked with a grin, blocking the sun with both hands for extra effect

"And you are a child, Clarke Griffin" Lexa swallowed a smile threatening to break through from Clarke's antics. A victory, in some terms, for the carer.

"Thank you. After all the sun is way better than all of that snow at home don't you think?" She looked down at Lexa who sped along beside her, eyes watching carefully in front of her. Clarke's glasses looked far better on her than they did on Clarke herself.

"In theory, snow is nice. Snowball fights and snowmen, then nice warm nights in with hot chocolate." She poked her bottom lip out, an action that would be followed by a shrug if she was capable of one "But in reality, it's just a nuisance for anything with wheels. That includes me."

"I'll get you some nice snow tires when we get back" Clarke joked "We can make your chair into a monster truck"

Lexa sighed "I never thought I'd tell somebody this, but maybe it's better that you don't think all the time."

"That's completely understandable. Thank you for the input, Lexa." She nodded with a smile

"You're welcome"

"That was totally sarcasm," Clarke muttered under her breath.

"Well, look at you, Woods!" Octavia smiled, waving her arms in the air in greeting and rising from the sunbed. She wore a bikini that matched Lincoln's god-awful swim shorts "How does it feel to be outside again?"

"It feels like I'm melting" Lexa grumbled

"Oh sure, sure. I'm sure a tan wouldn't hurt, Woods."

Luna was splayed out face first across her own sunbed, the sunglasses that were once resting on her head had long since fallen back into the mass of her hair that had been tied up in a tight-knit bun. It seemed that she had fallen asleep by that point. On the bed beside her, Raven sat cross-legged, smiling as she sipped a pink cocktail from a straw, a book named 'building a spaceship' in her other hand. She paused, humming slightly at a more 'intriguing' fact before going for another sip. It was at that point that she noticed the two women approaching, mouth wide open, tongue searching for the straw like a child would.

"Oh hey, guys!" She exclaimed, dropping the book down. Luna jumped awake, leaping up in terror at Raven's loud and obnoxious voice.

"Jesus fucking christ Raven" Luna rubbed her face "Somebody please find the mute button"

"Unfortunately, she doesn't have one. Her mouth is just constantly at volume one hundred. Even as soon as she wakes up. It's just noise." Clarke shrugged.

"Trust me" Luna lay back down on her sunbed, arms crossed behind her bed "I know"

Lexa was still parked awkwardly in the middle of the pathway in between the row of sunbeds and the large pool before them. She looked out of place. And there was doubt that she felt that way too.

"Come on, wheels. Let's get you on one of these bad boys, huh?" Lincoln smiled "I'll move a chair out of the way so you can get in"

"Thank you Lincoln" Clarke placed a hand on Lexa's shoulder as he made space for her, waving them on happily.

Clarke pulled the back of the sunbed upwards, so when Lexa was helped onto the bed she was sat up with a clear view of everything around her. The blonde adjusted the umbrella above them to block out the sun for the other girl, before sitting down beside her.

The place around them was beautiful. The sea glowed in a stunning blue-green shade that had Clarke continuously looking back to make sure it was real and it wasn't just her imagination. Waves lapped up at the pier not far from them, making a distinct but distant sound that was almost comforting in some way.

The pool had no peculiar hum from generators or filtration systems, leaving nothing to hear but the small talk shared between the group of friends and the small sounds of nature surrounding them. It was peaceful. Pleasant.

"I have never experienced sun like this in so long" She sighed, flopping back and soaking in the vast rays of Tahiti sun.

Lexa glanced at her from the corner of her eye "You look strange"

"Gee, I'm in awe with your compliments" She rolled her eyes

"I didn't mean that in a rude way Clarke" She sighed "I meant that you're the only one here fully dressed at a poolside"

"I'm not the only one. You're dressed too" Clarke countered, raising her brow at Lexa's shorts and tank top.

"That's different. I'm dressed because I can't swim. You can swim, Clarke. You have no excuse."

"What makes you think I'm going to swim?" Clarke tilted her head "What makes you think I can even swim?"

"She can swim!" Called Raven from Luna's side. Clarke groaned, slumping her shoulders and rubbing her temples. She wished she left Raven at the airport to fend for herself at burger king.

"And now you officially have no excuse," Lexa said, an all too sweet smile on her lips knowing that she was right.

"Just shush. Shush!" She hushed Lexa flapping a hand in her direction "I'm not going in! My hair will get all frizzy."

"Luna's hair is frizzy and she doesn't complain."

"That's because she suits frizzy hair, Lexa. It's not fair, I don't suit it." Clarke sat up, consciously flattening down the back of her hair as she did so "I'm going to get a drink from the bar. Want one?"

"A bourbon if you don't mind."

When Clarke said drink, she really meant a cocktail. But when Lexa mentioned bourbon, it made far more sense. She seemed like the kind of woman to enjoy a glass of bourbon rather than a Bloody Mary or a Pina Colada. Perhaps it was her rich lifestyle and fancy home that just screamed 'bourbon.' And so, she wandered off to find the bar of which Raven had already long since helped herself to.
