Shut up and Dance

We walked onto the stage and he sat the box down.

"So, what do y'all want me the do?"

"Well you could just stand there and look beautiful." Rocky said putting his arm around me.

"Or," Rydel comes up between us. "She could help mom set up the merch table."

I laughed and looked at Rocky. "Although I'd love to stand here and look beautiful, that sounds like a better idea." I padded him on the back and looked for a way to get off the stage. Ross ran up and jumped down of the stage.

"Here." He said with his arm open. I laughed and walked to the side of the stage and he cuddles me in his arms.

"Oh why thank you, young sir."

"Oh, Anytime." He put me down and jumped back on stage. I walk to the back of the venue and walk up to Stormie. I walk around the table and start folding the shirts. R5 started practicing their songs. They played a lot of cool song some I've never heard of, I guess it's the songs they wrote. Then, they started playing one of my favorite songs from my favorite band, Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon. Ross sung the lead and really got into it. I watched and smiled.

"Madi?"

I jumped and and turn around. Stormie smiled and looked at her son and back at me.

"So, we are about to open. Do you want to stay back with me or head up to watch?"

"Um.."

"Go. I got this."

"Thanks Stormie."

"Wait," she called out and I turned around. "So....you and Ross?"

"Are just friends. I mean he's cute but...I don't know." I shrugged.

She smiled. "Give him a chance. I like you, I want you around."

I smiled and walked to the front. The crowd started pouring in. I got front and center so I could see all of them. They sung their songs and covers. Then Ellington spoke into the mic.

"Okay this last song is new," the crowd cheered. "It was written by our little Rossy. Also, y'all should say hi to our friend, Madi." He pointed his drum stick at me. The girls around me cheered and I waved and looked at his questionable. "Anyways, here's Fallin' for you."

They started to play the cords and then Rocky started singing and my smiled faded. "You like mismatched socks with polka dots, you like you're pizza cold, I think that's hot. You like to swim at night when the moon is full, you think that makes you strange I think that's cool."

I looked over at Ross with big eyes and he was just staring at me as they keep singing Rydel joined in. "And you say you're scared, that I won't be there. But baby, I swear." And with out breaking eye contact, he sung to me. "I'm not going anywhere. You can change you're hair five times a week, you can change your name, get a little bit crazy, you can dance in the rain rocking second hand chic, but I live for the day that I'm calling you baby. Cause I'm fallin' for you, for everything that you do, yeah I'm fallin' for you. You might be crazy but baby I'm fallin' for you." I smiled as Ross continued to sing to me, which lead to a big smile on his face. The show ended and everyone started to leave. Rydel came off of the stage and walked to me and we hugged.

"Oh my god. That was awesome. Y'all are great. Do you think I could get a discount on your merch? The sweatshirts look super comfy."

"Totally. I'll go get one from my mom now."

She walked to the back and Rocky, Riker, and Ellington walked up.

"How'd you like the show?" Riker asked as he throw his arm around me and I wrapped mine around his waist.

"Y'all were great. I loved all y'alls originals and the Walk the Moon cover. Plus, Rydel is getting me merch."

"Woohoo, representing your best friends's  band." Rocky yelled.

"Oh yeah and thanks for the shout out Ellington or should I say Ratliff like the girl next to me yelled in my ear repeatedly, so I will never forget it." We laughed then I saw Ross walk off of the stage and did a side smirk at me and I looked at the boys. "I'll see y'all in a bit. I'm going to go.." I pointed over at Ross.

"Oh, okay. I see, have fun you kids. But not to much fun." Rocky said.

"Get out of here." I pushed him away and walk over to Ross. He had his hands in his pockets and I crosses my arms. "So, that song."

"Yeah....I'd you like it?"

"Yeah, but I think I should get like a coauthorship or something because I'm pretty sure the first verse was mine."

He smiled and looked down. "Yeah...um okay. So remember that one night a couple of weeks ago?"

"When you fell into the pool and then pulled me in?"

"Yeah, I was going to ask you something and.....god this is so hard. I can find the right words to say. Why can't I just sing you a song?"

"Well, you kind of did?"

"Will you go on a date with me?!" He said really fast, it kind of surprised me. I just stood there and looked at him. "I'm sorry this was rushed." He started to walk away but I grabbed his arm and turned him around.

"Ross, yes I will."

He smiled and then Ellington screamed.

"She said yes!" Then the band rushed and did a group hug.
