I sat a my dinner table looking through wedding magazines and calling eveyone because the wedding was a month away. Ross opened my front door and walked up to me.
"Okay, good you're here. We need to start so many things." I say looking up from the mess at him.
"Well, I'd love to help you out. But, I brought a suprise." He held up a bag of Chinese take out.
"Oh, this is why I'm marring you." I said grabbing the bag and taking to the kitchen.
"About that." He said following me into the kitchen I put the food on plates and grabbed forks.
"Sorry, no take backs. You're stuck with me."
"No, That's not what I meant. I think we need to put of the wedding for a bit."
I turned to face him and arched my eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"We got asked to go on tour with Walk the Moon."
"Shut up, no way, that's amazing!" I jumped on him and he spun me around. "For how long?"
"Nine months." He said. My smile disappeared.
"Nine months. I could have a baby in that time span." I tried to smile. "When do you leave?"
"Tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? Are you kidding me? We are getting married in a month! How long have you known?"
"About a month."
"A month? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want you to get mad at me like you are right now."
"Well, I would have understood a month ago. But, you come in the day before you are suppost to leave for a nine month tour. We are getting married in a month for Christ's sake!"
"Yeah."
"Yeah? You just say 'yeah'?"
"I'm sorry."
"What am I suppost to do? Wait for you to return, waiting by the window?"
"You can come with me."
"Ross, I can't. I have a life here. I have a job. I have a dance career. I can't just drop everything and go with you."
"Why not?"
"Ross, it's because this isn't a movie. You think life is a movie. You do all these romantic gestures that no one does, except for fucking Ted Mosby and everyone knows that he is insane when it comes to romance."
"Well , you can't love easily either. You don't love easily. I worked on you for awhile and every romantic thing I did you just rolled your eyes. Any other girl would love what I do for you!"
"Then why don't you marry one of them!"
We went silent. We just stared at each other for awhile. I walked over to the table and sat down.
"Is this what it's going to be like?.……us married?" Ross asked as he leaned against the counter.
"I don't know. We never fought before...when we just dated. But now we're engaged...it's all we seem to do."
"Maybe....maybe-"
"We rushed into things?" I said looking back at him.
"Yeah." He said walking to the table and sitting down across from me. "I'm tried of fighting. It's all we do now. Do you think we should..."
"Take a brake?"
"Yeah." It was silent for a bit and he got up to leave.
"Ross." I stood up and walked over to him. I took off my ring and gave it to him.
"Keep it." He put it in my hand and closed it. "I know it's kind of stupid. But, we are still going to be friends right?"
"Of course." He walks to my door. "Well, see you later."
"Bye." He walks out the door. I leaned against the wall and broke down. I felt nothing.
