"Mhm! What do you think mom?" Noel walked back and forth on the phone. The others sat on a bench in park, watching her pace. "Of course I have it!" Noel went on.
"Should we ditch her? I mean she doesn't have that much of a power." Adyn looked over to the others.
"Adyn!" Lila gasped, looking over to the red-haired girl.
"Just sayin'!" Adyn leaned back in the bench. Token sighed.
"Noel!" Token called.
"Hold on, mom." Noel took the phone away from her ear. "What?"
"We have class in 5 minutes!" Token told her.
"Oh!" Noel hurried to put the phone back up to her ear. "Mom, I gotta go. I got class soon." She told her mother. She hung up, putting the phone into her bag.

OPERATION SUICIDE: THE GREAT AND THE NOT SO GREAT

"I will go around, asking everybody their abilities." Said the teacher, putting his hands behind his back.
"You." He pointed to Knox, who sat next to Token. "Were you the one who started that fight yesterday?" The teacher looked down to the black-haired teen. Knox nodded to the teacher, still looking him in the eye. "I see.." the teacher closed his eyes. Out of nowhere, the teacher slapped his ruler against Knox's desk. Everybody flinched. All except for Knox, who sat very calmly, still looking the teacher in the eye. Not one bit of fear could be read in Knox's expression. Lila widened her eyes, surprised that Knox wasn't scared. She knew that she would be terrified. "Have I taught you nothing?!" The teacher yelled, gripping the ruler tightly. "I don't teach criminals in this class!" The teacher shouted. The teacher waited for Knox to respond, but he still just sat there. "If you're gonna be a criminal, please move classes." The teacher said rather calmly, lifting the ruler from the desk. Knox narrowed his eyes at the teacher, clearly angry.
"What's your ability?" The teacher asked Knox.
"Time manipulation." Knox replied, looking down at his desk.
"And? The move you did to end that fight definitely wasn't Time Manipulation." The teacher scrunched his nose, looking down at the teenager.
"I.. don't know." Knox said quietly, his brown eyes blinking slowly. Lila looked from Knox to the teacher, worried what would happen next.
"Hm.. is it new?" The teacher asked him. Knox shook his head.
"I don't know what it's called." Knox corrected the teacher, looking back up to him again.
"I see." The teacher nodded, moving on to the next person.
"Lila." The teacher pointed his ruler over to the black-haired teenager.
"Telekinesis." Lila replied, looking from Knox to the teacher. The teacher nodded.
"Token." The teacher then moved the ruler over to Token.
"Mind control." Token replied.
"Adyn."
"Fire Manipulation and Teleportation." Adyn said, scratching her neck. The teacher nodded, moving on.

After that, the teacher brought them to one of the battle courts. The sun shined down on their backs and shoulders, making them sweat heavily.
"Now we are going to be testing our abilities. I want to see how much you can control them." The teacher told them, looking at all of the students. "I will match you up in pairs, and you will battle with your partner." The teacher examined the teens.
"Token, with Lila." .. "Adyn with Noel." .. "Nokkusu with Leslie." .. and he went on with the other students. Leslie, Knox's partner, stood next to Knox but didn't speak a word. Knox focused on the battle and didn't bother to meet his partner. His brown eyes blankly stared at the ongoing fight.
"Hello?" Leslie spoke, slightly smiling. Knox looked over to his partner, his eyes still blank.
"Hello." He spoke, his voice low.
"I'm Leslie! I'm your.." Leslie could see Knox's expression growing more and more annoyed. "..partner." She sighed.
"Knox." He said with no emotion. Leslie looked to her partner with hope.
"Nice to meet you, Knox!" She smiled, putting her hand out for him to shake it. He took her hand and shook it, giving a nod in greeting.
"Next up, Adyn and Noel!" The teacher called.
"This must be a mistake! My ability it's meant for battle!" Noel told the teacher.
"Use your ability in any way you can. You can't avoid a battle in the real world." The teacher looked at Noel with cold eyes. Noel and Adyn got into position on the court. "Go!" The teacher shouted. Adyn suddenly disappeared, nowhere to be seen. Noel nervously looked around. Suddenly, Adyn reappeared, taking a swing at Noel with her fist. Noel ducked down, letting Adyn tumble over her. Adyn stood up, her expression growing angry. Noel ran towards Adyn, but she teleported behind her. Adyn punched the back of Noel's head, letting Noel to fall to the ground. Noel gasped, looking over to Adyn. She was nowhere to be seen. She stood up, brushing the dirt off of her knees. Suddenly, a burst of fire could be seen coming straight at her. She screamed, trying to shield herself.
"I forfeit! I'm no match!" Noel yelled before the fire could reach her. Aydn laughed, flames in her blue eyes. Aydn made sure the fire didn't reach Noel. Aydn smiled, showing her sharp teeth. The teacher face palmed, sighing. Noel ran off of the court. She ran up next to Token.
"You did good." He smiled, patting her back. She breathed heavily, nodding and slightly smiling. Adyn strutted off of the court, cracking her knuckles. Lila pressed her lips together.
"Next up, Nokkusu and Leslie!"
They got into position on the court. Lila grabbed Token's arm, worried about what was going to happen.
"Go!"
Leslie sent a burst of wind towards Knox. He held his ground, his legs locking. He started to walk through the wind, carefully stepping so that he wouldn't fall back.
Leslie's mouth opened in surprise. He looked at Leslie, sad that he had to hurt her. She was so nice to him, he just couldn't see himself laying his hands on her in any way. Knox looked back to the teacher.
"Something wrong, Nokkusu?" The teacher asked, yelling over the wind. Knox looked back to Leslie. He struggled to plant another step. He breathed deeply, feeling weaker and weaker the more steps he took. The wind stopped, Knox falling to the ground on his knees. He shakily stood up, slowly blinking his eyes. Leslie sent a blade of air at him. He was thrown to the side, hitting his back off of the fence. His nose as well as his mouth was bleeding. Leslie waited for him to stand up.
"Use your powers!" Shouted Token.
"What a wimp." Adyn scrunched her nose, spitting off to the side. She carefully watched the battle. Knox stood up, going back to his position. His mouth gaped open, blood layering his teeth and lips. Leslie sent another blade after him. Knox cowered down, closing his eyes and putting his arms in front of his head. Everybody gasped when they saw that Leslie, along with the blade was frozen. Knox groaned, trying to keep the blade frozen. He could feel the energy drain out of him. Blood dripped from the bandage on his arm down to the his boots. He let his breathe go, falling to his hands and knees. Leslie and the blade were unfrozen, the blade going right over his head.
"Knox! What's going on?!" Lila shouted, still holding onto Token.
"I can't!" Knox cried. Adyn smiled, turning to look at Noel.
"I told you he was weak." She smirked.
Leslie looked at Knox, not making anymore moves. Blood dripped from his nose and mouth down to the court floor.
"Knox?" Leslie said, concern in her soft voice.
"I can't hurt you!" Knox looked up to Leslie. Leslie's eyes widened. She backed up a few steps.
"Leslie is the winner!" The teacher called. Lila let go of Token, running into the court and kneeling down next to Knox. She helped him up, putting her hand under his chin to catch the blood.
"I'm walking him to the nurse." Lila told the teacher.
"Very well, then." The teacher nodded.

They ran down the hall, Lila still trying to catch the blood. She opened the door to the nurses office, walking in with Knox beside her.
"He got injured in battle." She told the nurse.
"Please sit down on the table." The nurse told Knox. Lila sat down in a chair next to the door. Knox hoisted himself up on the table. The blood had stopping dripping at this point. The nurse came over with a wet rag. She carefully wiped the blood off of his face. She handed him a glass of water and a bucket. "Wash out your mouth, please." She told him. He took the glass of water. He washed out his mouth with it, spitting pink into the bucket. The nurse took a look inside of his mouth.
"It looks like you bit the inside of your cheek pretty bad. Does it hurt?" The nurse asked him. He nodded, putting his hand against his cheek. The nurse prepared a pack of ice. She put it against his cheek. He grabbed the ice pack, holding it there.
"Come back if it starts bothering you." The nurse told him. He nodded, sliding off of the table. Lila walked out of the door, followed by Knox.

"What happened back there?" Token asked Knox later that night in their dorm.
"I didn't want to hurt her.. she was so nice to me." Knox sighed, moving his black hair out of his face.
"You have to! She obviously didn't care about hurting you!" Token looked at his roommate with concerned eyes.
"I just-" Knox looked up to Token, who was standing in front of him. "I just can't hurt anyone who didn't do anything wrong." he sighed, his brown eyes filling with mercy. Token nodded, sitting down next to Knox on his bed.
"Well, sometimes even if people seem innocent, they truly aren't." Token told his cousin. Knox looked over to Token, confused.
"Leslie has a pretty bad background." Token said.
"What do you mean?" Knox softly asked.
"She has a history of battling for sport outside of competitions. She's actually just looking to hurt someone." Token told him. Knox said nothing, but he just blankly stared at the floor. "That's why she didn't stop battling you when you were clearly done." Token added. Knox looked up, confidence in his eyes. "That's why you can never trust anyone."
"I trusted her, though." Knox told Token.
"Well, that was your mistake. From now on, you should know." Token put his hand on Knox's shoulder. Knox looked over to Token, anger building up in his expression.
"You sound like my mother." Knox growled. Token opened his mouth, about to speak, but not sure what to say. "She told me not to talk or trust anyone, but I am different than her." Knox coldly stared at the blond teen. "I don't like to ignore people just because they might be a bad person." Knox pressed his lips together. "So if you wanna live your life being scared of every stranger, then go ahead. I am not like you." Knox took a deep breathe, looking back down to the floor. Token stood up, speechless.
"I'm sorry." Token sighed, walking out of the room. Knox slowly blinked, lying his head down on his pillow.
