MYTHS VS TRUTH
By dusky_dreamsWe have heard many myths since childhood and have followed them. Here is a list of some such myths and their truths we have heard.
We are told since childhood to sleep facing the left side after eating to have good health. This is because as we sleep facing the left side the digestion takes place more effectively than In the right side and this way we won't have to face any indigestion or gastrics.
We get hiccups when someone thinks about us or we eat something after stealing.
We have heard this myth many times. Scientifically we get hiccups because of the involuntary contractions of diaphragm. So, it's all about myth, no one thinks about us when we get hiccups. As babies, we all were put kalla tikka or black dot as a protection shield. This is because wearing black thread or black dot gives peace of mind to a person who fears the concept of nazar and in old times it was used as a way to decorate the new born child.

By JyotiiD"No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met neatly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone."
— Shirley Jackson, "The Haunting of Hill House," 1959
