A lot time had been lost they've seen suffering within the group and some were reluctant to speak, but they were met by the same goal to escape together. Only in the morning, they would find a way out to their surprise it wouldn't be pretty.
In the midst of the Outsiders work, Miyun stood guard at the shopping mall's entrance. It seemed more peaceful, usually few people came around the streets and... now the air. It felt off, a strong metal aroma filled the air.
Way off in the distance, she saw something emerge from the shadows. She readied her gun and walked towards them.
"Hey! You! You have some nerve walking here!" She growled as the the stranger limped closer.
"Stay back!"
But they—it— didn't listen.A horrid scream echoed through the room waking up anyone who was half awake, all the Outsiders grabbed their gun.
"Check on it!" The leader pointed.
"S-Sir..." They backed away as two figures entered their sights, but they seemed to have multiplied.
More and more of those things appeared.
"What the..." The leader muttered, they slowly prowled into their spot.
"SHOOT THEM!" He screamed.
His followers did as they were told except Seungjin, a lovely helpful person, gestured to the captured group.
"Come on!"
Chaeyoung and Tzuyu jumped and followed her, the others were persistent and cautious.
"We trust her." Tzuyu spoke and beckoned her friends as Mina followed on.They ran into a room filled with what they had stored and their lost equipment.
"Take them and leave." Seungjin said.
Everyone grabbed their stuff.
"What about you?" Dahyun asked, taking her knife and placed it into Nayeon's bag.
"You don't want to be followed, right? Plus I need to help my group." She had her hand on the handle and smiled at each one of them.
"Now go!"
The door swung open and sprees of bullets shot out of Seungjin's gun her only focus was to protect those girls who were just strangers to her, but to help them escape and thinking that they would be very grateful for her sacrifice. That's the reason why she did it, to die for the innocent living like a hero.

Rushing out into road and heading back on path, not looking back. Just keep running! They couldn't stop if they were out of danger, those who were falling behind were tightly held onto those who pushed on even if they were panting. The road kept going and soon they all came to a stop when they couldn't run anymore. Tripping on their own feet, they all dropped onto the floor. Nothing but their panting and heavy breathing was heard.
"Are—we... safe?" Yeji sighed.
"I hardly call it safe... but I don't hear them." Jeongyeon coughed and stood up. The journal she had recently picked up, she dusted off the dirt and picked it back up, she was not yet ready to read it yet."Have you taken a look inside?" Jihyo asked.
"No, not yet." Jeongyeon grew quieter as the others started to regain their stamina.
"We should head on, is everyone okay?" Momo said.
They all mumbled and headed into the direction to Busan, they were so close and yet they would have no idea how to leave, but Chaeryeong seems to be certain there is a way out and they believed her.The road was endless, nothing could be seen at the other end but more paths leading to Busan. The group gained back their humour and started to poke fun out of the oldest of the group. Nayeon was not impressed, nor did she find it funny as they were speaking about how the bag she carried made her look like a grandma. Usually, the younger girls had the most energetic voice and now targeted the whole group and even made fun of themselves. It kept their morale high, and this time Nayeon joined in with the fun.
Whilst walking down the long road, the noticed a figure in the middle of the road. An infected, they had thought. Their movements weren't so human like, it also helped that they were covered in blood and a rancid smell wafted into their nostrils.
"Are there more of them?" Mina asked as they all surveyed around.
"Doesn't seem like it." Ryujin whispered. They had to lay low and if something went wrong their last resort would be to run.Momo leaned over to Jeongyeon and Nayeon whispering in closely.
Mina raised her gun towards the infected, but Jihyo stopped her.
"We should keep it quiet for now." But as soon as she spoke, two of her friends zoomed past her in a blur. They tackled it down and pinned them on the floor as it growled with its raspy voice."What the heck you guys!?" Sana exclaimed.
"Just hang on." Chaeyoung stopped everyone as she watched Momo search in Nayeon's bag, finding a knife. She handed it towards Dahyun.
"If you want to prove yourself, you must first kill one."
Dahyun hovered her hand over the knife, her hand trembled trying to take it. She let it steady with her other hand. She bit her lip and gazed her eyes towards the floor.Dahyun took it and stared at the knife's glare and glanced back to Momo, who gave her a simple nod. Slowly, she stepped over to the pinned infected, Jeongyeon and Nayeon firmly gripped them down. Dahyun kneeled down near its head as their eyes met, terror in her eyes, she couldn't move nor did she want to.
"Don't think about it, it's for the best to release them from the suffering." Chaeryeong said. With a deep breath she took, she placed her knife towards its heart and closed her eyes. Digging in through the skin and hitting the bone, she raised it high and stabbed down hard until the infected screeched and struggling before they stopped moving. Dahyun released her grip and released all her tension.
"You did it." Yuna spoke and looked away from the body.
"This is how the world is supposed to be. There are killers and survivors, but you must be both to keep alive." Momo said. That phrase stuck out towards to all of them. It's the circle of life, the predator will always get the prey and if you become weak and hopeless, you won't survive. This wasn't a journey for a great discovery or an adventure, it was for safety. It always has been, but in realising to kill was a part of their plan. All of them must pick themselves up from the floor, take a weapon and strike before they get killed.
Dahyun stood up faced her friends, her eyes towards the floor, "Let's get moving." Taking out her knife from the body.
