Ray POV

It had been a while but Norman and Emma eventually returned. Even though I sent them to give Little Bunny back, I didn't expect them to take this long. The others were randomly running around getting their energy out before bed while I sat on the stairs with a lantern nearby. I normally wouldn't read my book here but I was getting tired of waiting on those two.

"Ray, are they back yet?" (Y/n) called from the top of the staircase. I guess she playing with the younger kids along with Don and Gilda.

"No, not yet. Don't worry about it" I yelled back as I continued reading my book. It honestly wasn't the best book from the library, but I continued anyway. It was always my goal to read all the books in that big library. Even though I was immersed in my book I noticed the white and orange-haired figures walk past.

"Welcome back, how'd it go?" I asked. Emma looked like she was going to say something, but she stopped herself. No more like she choked over her words and nothing came out. Norman spoke up clenching his fists.

"We didn't make it in time... she left" I was confused by his statement. Little Bunny wasn't with either of them, how could they have been too late? Momma wasn't even back yet. What are they hiding from me? They didn't say anything else and continued up the stairs

They definitely found out...

-Y/N POV-

"Sherry! I only allowed you to style my hair if you promised you wouldn't pull it!" Your twin scolded the small girl. It was funny how she let the kids play with the thing she cherishes.

"I'm sorry Artemis..." she said softly.

"Ey ey no need to sound sad," I said while putting Yvette down and picking her up. " you know she didn't mean anything by it, so don't take it to heart"

"Easy for you to say" Artemis whispered under her breath.

"What was that dear sister..." you said while giving her a cold stare.

"N..nothing! I said I didn't m..mean it that way! haha, yea~" she quickly stuttered back. You decide to look at the time seeing how brightly the stars shined. It turned out to be late and you sent the kids off to sleep. As you entered the bedroom you saw Emma already in bed. It confused you because she's usually one of the last people to get in it. You wanted to ask her how it went with Conny, but it could wait until the morning.

-Next Day-

The morning bell came blaring through the hallways like usual. This morning you woke up feeling energized since you got a proper amount of sleep. You quickly rose to check all the beds to see Emma just sitting on her bed. Everyone else was up and getting ready, but she just sat there quietly not uttering a word to anybody.

"Good morning Emma..." you said softly while sitting next to her. The aura around the normally happy ginger was dark and cold. You tried cheering her up by talking about playing games, but that didn't seem to help. "Emma if you ever need anything you can talk to me alright." You said while your arms tightly wrapped around her small frame.

"G..good morning (Y/N)... I'm fine I s..swear. It was just a b..bad d..dream. Yeah, just a bad dream" she unconsciously says back while giving me a weak smile. You knew she wasn't alright, but you didn't want to pry into it with all the kids around. You had to find the right time to ask her about it privately.
