Shizuo felt nervous.

What the hell was Shinra going to say?

The doctor had even made Shizuo take Izaya up to his bedroom and put him in bed, just in case he woke up and heard the conversation. The blonde's mind kept wandering back to when Shinra had told him about his 'new discovery' about Izaya. Maybe this was what is was. That or maybe Shinra would tell him something like "Izaya actually only has two hours to live and when he dies you're going to be so heart broken that I'll laugh in your face."

Okay, now Shizuo was just being hysterical.

He sat at the kitchen counter, waiting for Shinra to get done checking on Izaya's injuries. The blonde was still pondering on what the doctor would tell him. It was really starting to drive him insane. But he sat there, waiting for whatever was to come.

Soon the brunette walked through door, a smile on his face.

"Shizuo, I have to say, if you and Izaya ever did get together I think you two would probably win the title of 'world's cutest gay couple'."

"Shut up." Shizuo growled in response, his cheeks blushing pink.

"Right, anyway let's get down to business." The doctor's expression went from happy to serious in a matter of seconds. He pulled out a case which contained tons of papers.

"What the hell is up with the papers?"

"It's research. Your little dragon has a lot of important information. That is, if you want to keep him healthy, understand his body, understand his mentality, blah blah blah."

Shizuo raised an eyebrow. "Understand his body? Why would I need to know that?"

"Ah! Izaya has the most amazing anatomy! His stomach has a stronger acid than a normal humans' and his bones are hollow. Which, that means that he is indeed, very fragile. Along with that we have the matter of his senses. His eyesight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing are all very strong."

"Okay, anything else?"

"I'm not even close to finishing! He's just so fascinating! Almost as fascinating as my darling Celty."

Shizuo sighed.

Shinra cracked his knuckles. "Alright here I go, the full analysis:

"Upon further inspection of the patient I have noted that he was indeed a dragon. His type of dragon is the rare Asian lung. The right term for this kind of species would be a hybrid. Like his ancestors, Izaya has a sixth sense that has mostly to do with his instincts.

"There is no name for this instinct but it all has to do with trust. Within seconds of meeting a human, a dragon will decide if it will trust that human. More times than not, a dragon will not trust the human and attack. But if the soul of the human is pure and kind enough, a dragon will sense it. If a person is given this sacred bond of trust, they must not, under any circumstances, betray that trust."

"Wow, how'd you find out all that?" Shizuo gaped.

"Mostly google; but that's not the point Shizuo! Don't you understand? Izaya has given you that bond! He trusts you with all his heart Shizuo! If you ruin that trust then basically you break his heart!" The doctor exclaimed, putting his hands on the counter.

"Shinra, I don't think you understand. Would I ever, ever do something like that? The correct answer is never. In case you didn't know, I love Izaya and I would never, even in my wildest dreams, think of hurting him."

"Aww!! Shizzy is all grown up! And gay! How cute is that!" Shinra grinned.

"What the hell are you talking about? I've been grown up and gay for awhile now. I don't know what medication you're on, but you better not give it to Izaya." Shizuo smirked.

The doctor laughed. "Well, anyway, I'm still not done yet. So here is some more important info:

"Dragons are strange when it comes to certain things. For example, if one is too rub a particular spot on the lower back of a dragon, it will paralyze it. Along with that a dragon will often times make nests out of materials in its environment. This behavior will usually only happen when a dragon is homesick, pregnant, depressed or when it's mating season. A dragon seems to have an attitude that of a teenager, mainly because they have constant mood swings. These will never stop due to the fact that it's normal for a dragon to switch moods quickly in response to actions or changes in the environment.

"Dragons, however, all have seven similar character traits; greed, trust, love, lust, loyalty, cruelty, and rage. Greed for the love of shiny objects; Trust for the sacred bond they make with humans; Love for the affection they show to their mate; Lust for the actions of love they take; Loyalty for the undying loyalty they give their mates and friends; Cruelty for their ability to kill and finally, Rage for the wrath of a dragon.

"Health is always an important thing. For a dragon to stay healthy they must eat some kind of meat everyday and get exercise by flying. It has been shown that dragons hate sweets; but love bitter things. Certain foods a dragon must never eat include; cinnamon, peanut butter, pudding, sardines, and milk chocolate.

"Cinnamon is poisonous to a dragon, it makes them loopy before they pass out and therefore never wake up again. Even though the spice is deadly to them, dragons love it. Considered Izaya ate some, I gave him pills to get rid of the cinnamon. I recommend keeping the cinnamon out of reach though. All the other foods I mentioned will only make the dragon vomit due to the fact that their stomach acids are stronger.

"And finally, my 'new discovery.' When I was fixing up Izaya I noticed how his blood was turning black on his fatal bullet wound. That is because Izaya has black blood. His blood will turn from red to black to heal fatal injuries his body gets. Therefore, it's hard for him to die. Oh, and one more thing; Izaya is highly poisonous himself. So if you two ever do get a little carried away with the kissing, try not to bite his lip so it bleeds. His blood is very poisonous if swallowed."

Shizuo flushed at the last statement. "Alright, but how the hell am I supposed to remember all this?"

"This is why I brought the papers Shizuo." The doctor grabbed the stack of research and handed them to the blonde.

"It's all there, but if you ever have any questions don't be afraid to call."

The bleach blonde nodded. "Sounds good. Oh, uh. . . Thanks by the way."

"Sure no problem, I'll see you later. Toodles!~"

Shizuo looked down at the papers as Shinra walked out the door. There was a lot typed on the pages. The blonde sighed and put them on the counter before getting up and going over to the cabinets. He took the small container of cinnamon and placed it on the very top shelf; a shelf Shizuo knew Izaya wouldn't be able to reach. Careful not to leave any cinnamon behind, he cleaned up the mess Izaya had made earlier. Shizuo was in the middle of washing his hands when skinny arms wrapped around his waist from behind.

Shizuo smiled.

"I thought you were sleeping."

"Was, but not anymore." He felt Izaya pull away. Shizuo turned around to look at a sleepy bed headed Izaya.

"Hm, come 'ere." The blonde held out his arms and Izaya immediately embraced Shizuo.

"I think you should go back to bed sweetie, you look tired." Shizuo said picking up Izaya bridal style.

"Mmm, okay." The raven nuzzled his cheek against the soft material of Shizuo's shirt and breathed in the familiar scent. He fell asleep in the blonde's arms almost instantly.

Shizuo walked up the stairs to the bedroom, carrying Izaya with ease. He laid the small male down and tucked him in under the tons of blankets he had. Shizuo gave Izaya a quick peck on the cheek before going back downstairs to do some more paperwork before tomorrow.
