Shizuo gaped at what was in front of him. Out of all the things it could've been, it was a dragon.

And a badly injured one at that.

He felt bad for the thing. It looked like it was just ready to die the way it was making no effort to get up or even try to attack Shizuo. Blood was all over the walls and floor, obviously caused by the dragon failing around. He could see why though. The window in his bathroom had been smashed into a million pieces, allowing the cold December air to slip into the apartment and apparently a dragon with it. The creature slowly started to calm down. Which was a good and bad thing. A good thing because then Shizuo wouldn't get hurt, and blood would stop flying off the squirming serpent. But, it was a really bad thing because if it did calm down, it could die.

Shizuo didn't want that.

No, he had too big of a heart to let the dragon bleed to death in his bathtub. Besides, despite being a businessman, Shizuo knew a lot of medical treatments. He originally went to medical school, trying to become a doctor. When that failed because he had lost interest, he went to his friend and that was how his career started. And if things were really bad he could call his other friend, Shinra, whom he met at medical school.

Shizuo took a good long look at the beast in front of him.

It was a longer type of dragon, indicating that was most likely a Chinese or Asian dragon. It had sliver pointy horns adorned on top of it's narrow head. It's ears looked like they could be found on a deer, and it had a snout and face that could be associated with a wolf. Long ribbonlike whiskers were on the snout, flicking and swirling around their owner's body. Sharp sliver claws were on the birdlike feet. Its black mane going down the beast's long back to the tip of its tail. It was pitch black with a silver underside to it. Blood was gushing out of the right side of the creature's chest. Its body looked mangled with quite a few scratches, cuts, and broken scales. But all in all, it really was quite a majestic thing to look at. Definitely something you didn't see everyday. Shizuo moved closer to the serpent, trying not to startle it and make its obviously painful wounds worse.

Izaya could feel the presence of another being in the bathroom he unluckily crashed into. The dragon could barely keep his eyes open, wanting so badly to just rest. But if he did that he knew he would die. So he kept fighting. He fought the urge to sleep and squirmed in the bathtub he was in. Pain still shooting through him like an arrow. Izaya could feel whoever was in the room get closer and let out a distressed, yet warning, growl. Shizuo heard it and paused, knowing not to come any closer. Izaya couldn't trust this person. No, he couldn't trust anyone but himself and if he was going to live he had to do something. With that the black dragon struggled to its feet, slipping because of his dizziness. Shizuo watched in shock as the creature got up into an almost standing position in the bloody bathtub. The moment the dragon stood, a lot more crimson blood gushed out of the fatal wound. With a few whimpers of pain, Izaya collapsed, unable to deal with the intense pain as darkness surrounded him. Shizuo gasped as the serpent fell back down into the bathtub. He knew the beast was, for now, unconscious.

At that moment, Shizuo knew he wanted to help.

The blonde carefully walked over to the serpent. He kneeled down to get a closer look at the black beast. 'It sure is banged up.' He thought sadly, his heart aching at the sight. Every now and then the beast would let out a pained whimper, at least indicating it was alive. Shizuo placed a hand on the side of its face, stroking the dragon in a calm manner as if trying to comfort it after a tragic event. But by the looks of it, it looked as if there had been a tragic event. Izaya relaxed feeling the soft touch on the side of his face. However relaxing it was, Izaya could feel himself want to change back into his original human form. He had a better chance of living if he stayed in his dragon form; a bigger body meant more blood. But his dragon form took a lot of energy to stay in; energy he did not have at the moment and that in itself was hurting the dragon. 'Screw it,' he thought, 'I'm gonna die anyway.'

With the decision in his mind, he began to change.

Shizuo was still stroking the beast's face when a black flash startled him. He pulled his hand back and watched as the dragon got completely enveloped in shadows. It was a slight groan that sounded all to human that made Shizuo's heartbeat speed up. When the shadows disappeared, the blonde could no longer see a dragon in front of him, but a human. It was a very skinny male that looked to be in his twenties with pale skin and raven hair. Bad cuts and bruises were all over him along with his chest wound. The boy wore a black short sleeved shirt and black jeans. The shirt and the jeans stuck to his wounded body, soaking up as much blood as they could. Shizuo's eyes widened and his heartbeat sped up more. Now he had no idea what to do. He definitely couldn't leave the man to die. The blonde looked down at said raven-haired man. It made his heart hurt when he saw all the pain the smaller male was in. It was another groan that made his heart skip a beat. In a spilt second, auburn red eyes were staring deep into mocha ones. Izaya looked up at the blonde male, not knowing what to think. But he knew he wanted to get out of there. Shizuo couldn't find any words to say as he watched the small raven-haired male get up out of the tub. 'What the fuck is he doing?! Trying to kill himself?!' Shizuo thought frantically, not believing the man in front of him could stand with such injuries. Of course said man was a dragon a few seconds ago and that took a lot of "seeing is believing" power to actually believe.

Izaya gripped his bleeding side, small pants and whimpers escaping his lips. Shizuo got up and went over to the other male. At that point he didn't know what else he could do but take the boy to Shinra. At least the underground doctor would know what to do. Izaya looked at the blonde, fear shown in his eyes. "W-what are you d-doing?" He asked, whimpering slightly, scared of what the obviously-fake-bleach-blonde would do.

"I'm helping you."

Izaya's eyes widened as the blonde picked him up carefully, cradling him in his arms like a precious newborn child. The raven-haired boy squirmed. "L-let go of me! You! You. . . you stupid protozoan!" He shouted, acting like he was being taken hostage by a madman.

"Stop moving, you'll make your injuries worse." Shizuo carried the raven to his couch, carefully laying the boy down. Izaya stared up at the stranger in confusion.

"W-who are you?"

"I'm Shizuo, Shizuo Heiwajima. You?"

"I-Izaya Ori- Gah!" Izaya's sentence was cut short with a shout of pain. Once again his vision was blurring as his body ached in unbearable pain.

"Oh damn! That's right! Hang on, I'm calling a doctor. Just keep your eyes open, okay?!" Shizuo was panicking as he grabbed his orange cellphone from his back pocket and clumsily typed in Shinra's number. He kept watching Izaya, who's face was scrunching up in pain as he cried out on the couch. Shizuo finally heard Shinra answer his phone.

"This is Shinra K-"

"YEAH IT'S SHIZUO AND-STAY AWAKE DAMMIT!!-I NEED YOU TO COME OVER RIGHT NOW! NO QUESTIONS, IT'S URGENT!"

"Shizuo? What's going-"

"SHUT UP AND GET OVER HERE BEFORE-IZAYA! NO NO NO NO!-GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE! NOW."

Shizuo hung up, leaving behind a confused Shinra. The doctor looked over at his Dullahan girlfriend. "Celty, could you take me over to Shizuo's? It sounds important. Something about. . . Izaya?"

The helmeted woman nodded and with that they were off.
