Shizuo woke up at 11:34 in the morning. It took him a matter of seconds to realize that Izaya wasn't anywhere to be seen.
He still felt butterflies in his stomach at the wonderful feeling of Izaya's lips on his. Shizuo wondered what that meant, when Izaya kissed him like that last night. And more importantly if it would happen again when he was actually awake.Shizuo groaned as he realized it was Sunday and that he would have to go back to work tomorrow.
He quickly got up from his bed and walked out of the bedroom to his small living room. When he saw no trace of Izaya he started to walk to the kitchen. Where else could he be? His apartment was really small so there weren't very many places to go.
Shizuo would be lying if he said that he wasn't worried.
He walked quietly into the kitchen and that's where he found his sweet little dragon boy; laying on the floor, hiccuping.
"Izaya! What happened?"
"Mmm, hic, hi Shizu-chahnn~"
"Shizu-chan? What the hell; what have you been eating?" The blonde asked as he took note of the brown powdery substance that was surrounding Izaya and that had found its way into the raven's fluffy hair. This was definitely odd. Way too odd; even for a strange dragon human thing.
And only with that thought did Shizuo realize. . .
He had absolutely no knowledge about Izaya.
He knew nothing about what Izaya actually was, how to take care of him, or even what happened to him. He barely had any basic knowledge about him.
But this. . . this was really strange.
"Shizu-chan, hic, my head hurts! Can I go to Paris? What's that, hic, over there? Do you have any kittens? I like kittens~, hic!"
"Uh, hang on a second. . ." Shizuo casually said as he pulled out his phone. He pushed a few numbers and soon he was listening to Shinra's usual greeting on the other end.
"Yeah, Shinra, can you come over?"
"Why? Is your dragon boyfriend in trouble?~" Shinra teased.
Shizuo's face turned bright red. Shinra sure knew how to get on his nerves. And make him really flustered while doing it. Either way, it was like the brunette's second profession.
"HE'S NOT MY- JUST GET OVER HERE."
With that being said Shizuo hung up. His mocha eyes settled once again on the small male that was still on the kitchen floor.
"Hic!. . . Hic!"
"Do you want some water for your hiccups?"
Izaya smiled innocently. "Water? Hic! What's that?"
Shizuo's face clearly said 'I am not amused.'
The blonde sat down next to the man on the floor. Almost immediately the smaller male moved so his head rested in Shizuo's lap. The blonde smiled. In all honesty, Shizuo thought that Izaya was absolutely adorable. The boy might be a deadly beast, but he was still cute.
Shizuo smiled, fondly petting Izaya's head.
"Mm, Shizu-chan can you get rid of my headache? It hurts." Izaya whined, stretching like a cat in Shizuo's lap.
The blonde blinked. "Uh, I can try I guess. . . Oh wait! Here, sit up, " He instructed Izaya. The raven obeyed and sat up in front of his blonde caretaker.
Shizuo put his hands on both sides of Izaya's face, so his palms rested on the raven's cheeks. The blonde moved his middle fingers so they both were on the spots behind Izaya's ears where the skin was soft. He pressed lightly, trying to ease up the muscles that were awfully tight in that area, obviously making Izaya's headache worse with all the tension built up there. When the blonde pressed down just a little harder he earned a soft moan from Izaya which made him involuntarily shiver.
"Feels good, right? I get headaches often and I found that this is a good way to ease the pain. I used to do this to my younger brother too, when he was little." Shizuo explained, starting to rub and push down on Izaya's tense muscles to ease out the knots.
"Mm, I had a brother too. Well, three actually. . . Hic! Their names were Roppi, Psyche, and Hibiya," Izaya sniffed slightly, "I really miss them. Roppi would always stay up in his room, too antisocial to do anything with us. Plus he was way too occupied with his, hic, boyfriend anyway. Hibiya, Psyche, and I did, hic, did all kinds of things together. But Hibiya was usually too bratty and stubborn so often times he wouldn't join us. So, hic, it was mainly Psyche and me," Izaya paused and wiped his eyes.
"That was until he got really sick. The doctors said it was a rare disease and they were surprised he got it. Psyche couldn't do anything anymore because the disease, hic, paralyzed him. After lots of physical therapy he was finally getting better when. . . When it happened. I don't even know what provoked me, but I, hic, remember turning into my dragon form right in front of my whole family. My mom was shocked and immediately grabbed Hibiya, while Roppi and his boyfriend clung to each other," Warm tears fell from Izaya's eyes and streamed down his face.
"And Psyche. . . He cried. He cried because he was scared of me. Before I knew it I was taken away and I never saw them again. And the last face I remember was Psyche's, who was crying and begging to come with me. . ." Izaya hiccuped again while more salty tears rolled down his pale cheeks.
Shizuo kept massaging Izaya's tight muscles as the tears ran down the raven's face. He looked down slightly. "That's awful. . . All my life I've done nothing but disappoint my parents. Nothing happens to me. I guess I'm just too ordinary or something. I mean, there was only one event in my life that might be worth taking note of. . . But that's it."
Izaya wiped away a couple tears. "What, hic, event was that?"
Shizuo stopped massaging Izaya's muscles and pulled his hands back to run them through his thick blonde hair.
"Well a few years back when I was still in high school, my friend Shinra, or better known as the doctor that treated you, and my brother, Kasuka, were hanging out on the roof of our apartment building. I leaned back on a railing and it broke, so I fell. But, as I was falling, something caught me. I rode on its back for quite awhile before it put me back on top of the building. Riding whatever that thing was, was like the most amazing experience. It had really silky scales and soft fur, and flying was one of the most amazing things. I've always wanted to fly. . ." Shizuo trailed off, obviously trapped in his fond memories.
Izaya gaped.
"S-Shizuo. . . That 'thing' w-was. . . Was me."
The blonde stared wide eyed at the boy in front of him.
Before either one of them could say or do anything, Shinra walked through the door.
"Here! What's going- well well well, what do we have here?"
Shizuo's face turned tomato red.
"Hi Shinra-San! Hic!" Izaya grinned as he waved at the doctor.
Shinra waved back. The doctor took note of Izaya's behavior and his hiccups. It took the brunette a matter of seconds to notice the powder on the floor.
He smirked.
"Izaya, what's that?" He pointed to the powdery spot on the cream tiled kitchen floor.
"Ohhhh that? That's cinnamon! Hic!"
"Mmhmm. And are you supposed to be eating cinnamon?"
Izaya gave Shinra puppy eyes that Shizuo found so adorable he wanted to snatch the raven in a tight hug and never let go.
"N-no."
Shinra sighed. "Exactly. So now, I would like you to take these pills."
The doctor walked over to the sink and got a glass of water. He crushed the pills and sprinkled them into the cold clear liquid. Shinra gave the glass to Izaya and the raven drank all of it as instructed. Izaya curled up to Shizuo and yawned slightly before falling asleep in the blonde's lap.
"Why did you give him those pills? And why can't he have cinnamon?"
"I'll get to that soon. But right now Shizuo, we need to talk."
