Best friends Jungkook and Namjoon sat on their apartment roof together in New York, watching the ball drop from afar. "5 minutes, Joon" Jungkook said excitedly.
Namjoon didn't pay much attention. He had a plan.

Jungkook was counting down from 60 with them. "Hey, Kook?" Namjoon turned to him. "Hm?" Jungkook smiled at Joon. "You know how kissing at midnight on new years is supposed to be all romantic?"
Jungkook instantly got it. "Uh huh?" He wanted Jungkook to kiss him. "And neither of us has had our first kiss yet.." Namjoon's hand inched closer to Jungkook's.
"10, 9..." They could hear people counting down in the distance. "I love you, Namjoon" Jungkook smiled brightly. "I love you too, Jungkook"
"5, 4, 3, 2" As they shouted happy new year in the distance, Jungkook connected their lips. He pulled away slowly, flushed. "Happy New Year, Best friend."
"Happy New Year, boyfriend"
