Chapter 19

What Kei told me brought back the memories that I had when I was modeling, when I was working in a photoshoot for a magazine.

That didn't bothered me during the party but it still lingers in my mind. That my son approves on what I usually do on a daily basis, five years ago.

Kei was having fun with his cousins and with the Villin's cousins. Yes, Karaleen and her other cousins are here. More like a private party for us because of kuya Io and ate Vanessa's wedding anniversary.

"For Io and Vanessa's fourth wedding anniversary and for the safe return of our dearest Amaya and Keiran." Mommy said as we all cheers to that.

We all finished eating and we're just drinking some wine and hard liquor for some of the men. Guest rooms are prepared for the Villin's so they can sleep here if they get drunk.

I also saw Kaelix, the man they said that can help me on my problem but we didn't talk about that but I can see that he's looking at me. Maybe a way of letting me know that he knows what I'm going through? I don't know.

I was looking at Keiran who is currently having fun playing when Kael called me.

"Selene," he said while extending his arm towarss me.

"Attorney Amon." I called him as I shock hands with him.

"Kael is fine. Since, I'm not talking to you as a Lawyer." he said then asking me silently to go out on our backyard, maybe for us to talk privately.

I went to check Kei before heading out. I hired a private nurse for him so it's fine.

"Kara and Io told me about your case already," Kael said as we walk towards the backyard.

"Y-Yeah? I'm sorry to bother you Atty. but my brother insists that we should seek for your help." agad kong sinabi sa kanya dahil nakakahiya baka busy siya sa kanyang mga kaso.

"It's fine. I had my people deal with that. All we need now is your son's hair strand or you can just give me his comb or toothbrush." he said as if what we're doing is simple.

He already had his men scattered across the globe just to get a DNA sample to identify who is the real father of Keiran.

I was about to thank him but he started to talk again.

"But his features screams Phoenix, Selene." he said that made my heart beat faster.

He walked towards me and patted my shoulder.

"Phoenix knew what's his, so better start packing your things now." he chuckled then went back inside.

What Kael said left me wondering. They are saying that Kei looked like Phoenix but I clearly don't see it.

"Is everything okay, Mama?" he asked then cupped my cheeks using both of his tint hands.

"Yes, Kei." I said then cleared my throat. "Did you have fun tonight?" I asked, changing the topic.

"Yes, Mama! Rin said we'll go play again tomorrow since they stayed here tonight. She'll ask Tati Kara if they can go home tomorrow afternoon so she can play with me." he said sounding super excited.

"Okay, okay. Just make sure that you don't tire yourself too much."

"Yes, Mama." he said then kissed my cheek and went to sleep.

The next day, I woke up a little bit late and my son is already nowhere to be found at the other side of the bed.

Bago ako bumaba ay naligo na ako agad at nagbihis para dire-diretso na ang takbo ng araw ko. Pagbaba ko ay naririnig ko na ang mga tawa nina Keiran at Karean kasama ang anak ni kuya Io. They are playing outside and thankfully it's not that sunny today.

"How's your sleep?" Ate Vanessa asked when she's eating alone at the dining table.

She stood up and did something near the sink.

"Good," I answered her but then I looked around to see the house very boring.

"They all went out. You know, business and modelling stuff." she said as she handed me a cup of coffee.

"Thanks." I said then sat in front of her.

"Pati ang mga Villin umalis na rin?" I asked her.

"Yeah. Your friend said there is am emergency so they left Karean here. They'll pick her up this afternoon." she explained and I just nodded.

We talked about random stuffs as we eat together and when we finished eating, I decided to go to the living room and watch TV but then she stopped me from doing it.

"Don't—"

My brows furrowed because of her actions. Something's fishy.

I was about to get the remote control when Karean shrieked.

"Madam Amaya!" narinig ko namang sigaw ng isang kasambahay namin.

"Mommy!" sigaw ng anak ni Ate Vanessa.

Agad na akong kinabahan dahil sa mga sigaw ng mga bata. Nang tumakbo kami palabas ay nakita kong nakahandusay at walang malay si Keiran.

"Keiran!" sigaw ko sa aking walang malay na anak.

"Kuya! Pahanda ng sasakyan!" narinig kong sigaw ni Ate Vanessa.

"T-Tita, we— we're playing but Kei collapsed!" Karean explained as she was crying so hard while she's holding my arm.

I caressed the child in horror and tried to calm her down.

"Ma'am, mukhang okay naman po kasi si Sir Keiran kaya akala ko—"

I stopped the nurse from explaining and tried to carry Keiran and send him to the hospital.

I couldn't stop myself from crying since my son isn't responding. He's breathing but he's not waking up.

Keiran is not waking up.

"Nurse! We need help!" I heard Ate Vanessa screamed for help when we arrived at the hospital.

The two kids went with us since they are also scared to be left with the maids at our house, so we didn't have a choice but to bring the two little girls who also didn't stopped crying because of what happened.

"Kei, baby, please wake up." I cried before the nurse carried him away from my arms.

"Ma'am, is the child allergic to any drugs?" I heard the nurse asked.

I shook but head and stop myself from sobbing.

"He has leukemia, miss." I cried and she just nodded and help to aid my son.
