Chapter 21

The both of us didn't slept that night. We just watched Keiran sleep. We just watched him silently.

I also kept on looking at him and Keiran and I don't really see resemblance on the two. Maybe all the people kept thinking that Keiran was Phoenix' son but...

"Are you okay?" he asked, alerted as he stood up and walked towards me.

He was at the other side of the bed and I was at the other.

I tried not to be touched by him but I was sitting, therefore I cannot avoid his touch.

"I'm... I'm fine." and right after I said that, my tummy growled.

Perfect timing nga naman.

The both of us giggled by the sound of my hungry stomach so we ended up ordering food online.

We were super awkward when we're eating at a small table here at Keiran's room.

"Why'd stopped modelling—"

I looked at him and he stopped talking then be murmured something I didn't heard clearly. My brows furrowed because of that. He didn't even finished his sentence when I looked at him. 

"Go on," I said to him for him to continue what is he going to ask me. 

"I... I just wanted to ask you that—"

"That what?"

"Umm..."

"Umm?"

"Galit ka ba sa akin?" pag-iiba niya nang kanyang tanong.

Nagtaka naman ako dahil doon.

Galit ba talaga ako sa kanya? O nagalit lang ako noon dahil nahuli ko siyang kinakausap ang puntod ng kanyang napayapang ex-girlfriend?

"No." "I answered firmly and he just shrugged his shoulder.

"Why'd you stop modelling after you gave birth to your son?" he asked. 

My son? He told me a while ago that Keiran's his son. So, he's bluffing when he said that to me? Then, it is possible that Aidan is Kei's father? Pero sinasabi nila kuya na kamukha ni Keiran si Phoenix?

I groaned because of frustration and I massaged my temples. 

"Are you—"

"I ran away from home. So basically, I left everything and then ask for Karaleen's help. I owe her for helping me raise Keiran." I simply answered his question. 

"Why didn't you asked for my help?" he asked.

"Why would I do that?" I asked him back and then we continued eating. 

"Why not?" he asked back.

"Are you just gonna ask questions with each other?" bigla naman akong nagulat sa nag-salita. 

Pareho kaming napatingin ni Phoenix sa kakapasok lang na lalakeng pamilyar lang ang mukha sa akin. 

"Atty. Allardyce!" tawag sa kanya ni Phoenix.

Atty. Allardyce? Iyong ex-boyfriend ni Karaleen?

Before I can ask more question to Phoenix if why is that man doing here, he's already talking to him like they are great friends. 

Unti-unti naman akong lumapit sa dalawa at sinubukang sumali sa usapan nila. 

"D-Did you know each other?" natatakot kong tanong sa kanila. 

Sabay naman nila akong tiningnan at parang gusto ko nalang lumabas dahil mukhang nakakahiya naman sa kanilang dalawa na nakikisawsaw ako sa usapan nila. 

"Yes. We're friends." simpleng sagot ni Phoenix sa akin at tiningnan lang naman ako ni Atty. Allardyce. 

Umalis na ako sa tabi nilang dalawa dahil halata namang ayaw nilang marinig ko ang pinag-uusapan nila. Sa sobrang kabado ko habang tinitingnan ang dalawa, ite-text ko na sana si Karaleen kaso biglang nag salita si Atty. Allardyce. 

"Amaya," tawag niya sa akin habang nakatingin rin sa akin si Phoenix.

"Y-Yes?" kabadong sagot ko sa kanya.

"Do me a favor and don't tell Karaleen that I went here to check on you."

Agad naman akong tumango at itinago ang cellphone ko. Pinagtuunan ko nalang ng pansin ang aking natutulog na anak habang hinayaan ang dalawa na mag usap. Hindi nag tagal ay nag paalam na rin naman si Atty. Allardyce at umalis na siya na hindi ko sinasabi kay Karaleen na nandito siya.

"August helped me on finding you and Keiran." Phoenix explained even though I didn't ask for one. 

"Okay." I simple said because I don't know what to say.

I heard my son groaned and I immediately went to check on him.

"Keiran? Baby?" I called him but he didn't respond he was asleep but he's groaning. 

"C-Can you please call the—"

I felt Phoenix' hand in my back as he went out the room to call the Doctor while I was left here, trying to hold my tears from fallling... again.

I held Keiran's hand and tried to speak to him.

"Baby, please. Be strong for mommy. Hm?" I whispered to him then kissed his hand before the nurses pulled me away from him. 

When will I stop these tears from falling? I'm tired of crying because of the same reason. I'm tired of seeing my son in this kind of pain. 

"Hernandez?!" I heard kuya Io's voice echoed the hallway where me and Phoenix are—

I immediately pushed him away when I saw the two of us hugging each other. Kaya naman pala galit na sumigaw si kuya nang nakita niya si Phoenix. Akmang susuntukin niya sana ito ngunit pinigilan naman siya ni Ate Vanessa. 

"Ate..." tawag sa akin ni Chandria at niyakap ako. 

"Keiran will be fine now, May. Kaelix will be here soon with the test results. We'll see if who is the real father of Keiran." Ate Luna said as she was glaring at Phoenix.
