Chapter 11

Parang nabuhusan ako ng malamig na tubig dahil sa nangyari sa akin at doon sa ibon na iyon. Ang akala ko ay wala siya, nagulat ako nang nakita siyang nakaupo sa gilid ng kama ko, mukhang hinihintay ako.

"H-Hoy, lumabas ka nga." suway ko sa kanya.

"Oh, I will, mi luna. But first, I'll make sure you're fine here." he said as he rested his arms in his knees. Mukhang nahihirapan siya ah?

I smirked on the thought that he is literally having a hard time.

I walked slowly towards my door and locked it. He immediately looked at me and he's shocked.

"B-Bakit mo ni-lock? Lalabas na ako!" sigaw niya sabay tayo at lumapit sa gawi ko.

Hinarangan ko siya agad. Ipinatong ko ang palad ko sa kanyang dibdib at dahan-dahan itong inilandas pababa. Ngumisi ako dahil mukhang ang tigas niya nga sa baba.

Ngunit natigilan ako nang bigla niyang hinawakan ang kamay ko. Ngumisi pa ako lalo.

"Huwag mo 'kong subukan, Amaya." nahihirapang sabi niya sa akin.

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay at mas lalong dinikit ang sarili sa kanya.

"I like to tease the bird."

Nagulat naman siya sa sinabi ko at mukhang nataranta dahil naitulak niya ako ng kaunti.

"A-Anong bird ang sinasabi mo dyan! Tumigil ka nga!"

And with that, the bird flew out of my room. I guess he's not that kind of man huh.

I felt better that afternoon after I took a nap and to my surprise, nasa pamamahay pa rin namin yung ibon. Iyon nga lang ang umiiwas na siya ng tingin sa akin.

"You feeling good?" tanong ni kuya Io sa akin nang makababa na ako.

Kasama nila si Chandra kaya naman tinigilan ko na ang panunukso sa ibon naming kaibigan na mukhang wala namang gagawing masama.

Duda ako sa kanya eh. He'll just show up during my work. He's a business tycoon yet I just knew in a bartender that he was a part of the military, went home because of his now dead ex-girlfriend. And I just knew him for like a week or two.

His existence is so suspish.

"Yeah. I'm good." I answered Kuya Io while looking at Phoenix.

He just gave me a glare but I just winked at him.

The next few days was kind of normal. I am locked up in our house since they didn't want me to go back to work.

But a week after locked up in our house, they decided to give me work.

"Is this what you want, Dad? Akala ko ba you'll let me do what I want?" naiinis kong sabi sa kanya.

"Hija, you're not going to take over the company. Chill." Dad said as he's looking at his phone while sipping on his tea.

Ate Luna is just looking at me while eating her breakfast silently. Mom didn't want me to be exposed on the factory since she's concern about my skin getting dry or burnt.

"Hon, I think it's better that—"

"I think my idea is way better than yours, honey. Amaya, you'll go with Phoenix, okay?"

"What?! Dad!"

"I like your idea, Daddy!" Ate Luna exclaimed.

And Chandra was all smiles as she heard the bird's name.

"I really don't like this idea." I murmured to myself as the bird opened it's car door for me.

"I can hear you." the bird said as he ruffled my hair.
