chapter twenty-seven (xxvii.)

after i landed safely from the four hour flight from Los Angeles to North Carolina, where Rudy's birthday dinner is gonna be, i was at the airport about the call Jonathan was supposed to pick me up, along with Drew and Austin, when i saw someone jogging towards me and waving, who happened to be Jonathan

"JD! agh i missed you" i hugged him tightly as he finally walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me

"i missed you too, Kie! haven't seen you in a while!"

i let go of him and smiled "i know i know! but here i am! you didn't tell anyone did you?" he immediately shook his "nope, just how you wanted it, nobody knows. they think im picking up Drew and Austin.. which i am but they don't know about you"

i laughed softly and grabbed my little suitcase "okay thank you..well where are Drew and Austin?" i asked and we looked around for the two

"they should be here any minute" JD mentioned and i nodded, checking my phone i saw it was already half past three

"Kiara! JD!" we heard someone shout behind us, we both immediately turned their way as we saw them both, Drew and Austin

they walked up to us with their bags smiling "finally! haven't seen you in a hot minute Kie" Austin said and hugged me while Drew hugged JD

"yeah i missed you guys" i replied and went to hug Drew as well

"alright well, we have everyone now, let's go to the apartment" JD mentioned, we nodded and walked

"wait guys, i can't go to the apartment with you, where all of you staying, JD needs to bring to the other hotel i booked a place at"

"yeah okay, where are you staying at?"

"ehm wait lemme check the email, it was on some avenue street i think.... yeah Avenue street 451" i answered

"that's like three block away from where we are all staying at" Austin mentioned from the back as i sat in the passenger next to JD who was driving

"yeah i tried to find a place close enough"

"how will you come to dinner? Should i pick you up again?"

i stayed silent thinking a bit about it "ehm i.. i guess i could go on my own, or with uber?"

"no need to, JD just tell Rudy you'll be running late and you'll come pick up Kiara" Drew mentioned

"well i don't dunno, not a bad plan just" i looked at JD "is it already with you?"

"of course, he leaves 10 minutes earlier anyway he said he needs to check the place before we all go. he'll be there waiting for all of us. I'll come pick you up, Chase and others go ahead. we'll be at the least 5 minutes late. No biggie"

i smiled thankfully and squeezed his free hand quickly and let him drive
