Another couple of weeks went by, and I never brought up the subject of our fight again, but it was bothering me. It was bothering me a lot. Why did he have to have so many secrets?
I still wasn't talking to Ethan, and he slowly stopped waving at me in the hallway. It's a little sad I guess, he's a really good guy, I'm sorry things ended so badly between us.
I was coming out of art class when I saw a poster in the hallway, "Mascarade Ball". It was in two weeks, and I thought it was an awesome idea. I ran through the hallway to find Blake, he was coming out of the locker rooms.
-Blake!-
-Williams!- He said in a little sarcastic tone. Making fun of me, as always.
-I have great news!-
-Really? What's up?-
-We have plans next Friday night-
-We do? And what are we doing, if I may ask?-
-We are going to a Mascarade Ball!-
-No we aren't-
I was not expecting that reaction.
-What do you mean we aren't?-
-I don't do dances-
-Please, I really want to go-
-Well, you can go with Liv, cause I'm not going-
Why was he being so mean about it?
-Fine,-
I was going to keep going when suddenly I heard someone calling my name.
-Sadie!- It was a male voice. -Sadie Williams!-
I saw someone running towards us, it was Nicholas Kane.
To put you in some context, Nicholas Kane has been my classmate since I'm a little girl, but we have never really talked, and nobody knows anything about him. He only has friends outside school. He is tall, black hair, blue eyes, and he has a notebook he is always carrying. And that is everything anyone knows about him. Now you can understand why I found it so weird that he was running screaming my name.
-I won!- He said.
What the heck was he talking about?
-You are Overwatch!-
I went pale, and I think I was about to pass out. There was no way.
-Why do you know that?- I said, with a pretty horrified expression.
-Because I'm Hemingway!-
I looked at Blake, he was looking at the floor.
-You can't be Hemingway. Blake is, right Blake?-
He didn't answer.
Nicholas kept talking
-Look, I have your letters- He handed me about twenty or more letters, all signed with my handwriting. I knew the truth, I just didn't want to face it. I didn't want to face the fact that Blake had lied to me, and that our whole relationship was based on a lie.
-I- I couldn't even speak. -I have to go-
I started running. Blake started screaming at me, begging me to stop, but I didn't wanna hear it. I didn't want to hear more lies. I kept running with everything I had until I was outside the building. But Blake was faster, and he grabbed me and lift me up so I would stop running.
-Why did you lie to me!- I yelled.
-I'm sorry-
-You are SORRY?!- I was starting to tear up.
-The only reason I chose you is that I thought you were Hemingway! I told you about him a few weeks ago and you didn't deny it, you made me think it was you!-
-I didn't know what you were talking about, you were mad, I didn't want to make you angrier.-
-Well, good job. I can't do this. I just can't-
-Come on Sadie, it's just some letters, it doesn't matter.-
-But it does! Everything I thought I knew and loved about you was in those letters! I don't know anything about you. I don't know you.- I started to tear up.
-But you do!-
-Stop it Blake, it's over. Stay away from me.- I ran away sobbing, marking Liv on my phone.
-Liv, I broke up with Blake-
-Where are you?-
-I'm outside-
-Give me two minutes.-
Literally, a minute later Liv was running next to me and hugging me.
-What happened?- She said.
-Blake lied, about everything. He is not Hemingway.-
-I'm so sorry-
-But if he isn't how could he have known about my perfect day! I didn't tell him that, I told Hemingway-
-Oh...- Liv seemed like she had seen a ghost. -That's my fault.-
What the hell?
-He talked to me and said he wanted to take you on a date, and that he wanted it to be perfect, so I told him what to do. The amusement park, the pizza... I didn't think this would happen.
-It's not your fault, this is all on him.-
