And the day came. Friday night.

I was extremely nervous and excited, Liv and I were getting ready at my house, me with my blue dress and Liv with her beautiful red dress. We really looked amazing.

The ball started at 9, so Levi came by to pick us both up at 8:45. He was wearing a black tuxedo with a red tie, matching Liv's dress. They looked so cute. My mom took a couple of pictures before letting us leave, and then we were on our way.

We arrived at school at 9 sharp, just as planned. The entrance was very crowded, and I could barely recognize the people behind the masks. Everyone looked amazing though.

We came in, Liv was arm in arm with Levi, so I was getting ready to make my solo entrance when Levi offered me his other arm. I accepted, he was so thoughtful, Liv's very lucky. We walked in together and then Levi asked Liv to dance. And of course, as any rational person would do, I went to sit alone next to the snack table. I know, as I have established before, I'm pathetic.

The time went by, and I was having a really horrible time honestly, but then I saw a guy coming towards me. He was in a gray tux with a blue tie. Then he came closer and said

-Would you like to dance, Miss Williams?-

It was Ethan.

-It would be my pleasure Mr. Mikaelson- We both laughed. He looked so handsome.

He offered his hand and then lead me to the dance floor. A slow song was playing, so he put his right hand on my waist and his left met my hand. We started dancing, and I felt incredible, Ethan was such a great dancer.

-So, Sadie-

-Ethan-

-Sorry that I haven't spoken to you in a while, it's just, you were with Blake, and I-

-You don't have to apologize! If anyone should apologize that would be me. I'm sorry I pushed you away, it's just, I liked you, and I liked Blake, and I didn't want to make things complicated.-

-You liked me? for real?-

-How could I not like you? You are so sweet and funny, and such a gentleman. It would be impossible not to like you.-

Ethan was trying to hide it behind that mask of his, but I knew he was blushing.

-You are a great dancer by the way- I said.

-Thanks, so are you-

I laughed. -YOU KIDDING? I'm absolutely awful! I think I have stepped on you like four times.-

-Well, I'm honored to be stepped on by you.-

I giggled, he was always so nice.

-You look stunning by the way-

-Well, you look beautiful in that dress, Blake is one lucky guy.-

Wow, Ethan thought I was still together with Blake, and he was still being so nice to me.

-Ethan, I'm not with Blake anymore-

This time he stepped on me a little.

-Sorry. I just thought-

-It's fine, it hasn't been that long, you couldn't have known.-

Ethan was quiet.

-So, anyway. I have a question for you.-

-Go ahead-

Now that I knew that Ethan wasn't Hemingway I was very curious about why he started haging out with me.

-Why did you start hanging out with me?-

-Well, you talked to me first, so I guess the question is why did you?-

I told him the whole story, about Hemingway, the letters, the competition, my suspicions about him and Blake, everything.

-Wow, you have a pretty interesting life Sadie- He laughed.

-I'd rather not have one- We both laughed. -So, your turn, why did you start hanging out with me if we had never talked before? Didn't you find it weird?-

-Sadie, we hadn't talked before, but I did know you.-

What was he talking about?

-I have noticed you since we were in first grade, and now that you aren't with Blake anymore I have to say this, or I'll regret it again. Sadie, I started talking to you because I was in love with you.-

EXCUSE ME? What the actual hell is going on!?

-But, you didn't even know me-

-Sadie, I did know you, I paid attention to you, and I noticed things, sorry for sounding creepy, I promise I don't mean it in that way. Look, I have always wanted to get to know you, but I didn't know how, and then one day you just approached me in the hallway, and I thought, This is my chance! I can't blow this. But then Blake got in the picture and everything went to hell.

-Ethan I didn't know, I'm so sorry that I put you through that. I'm a horrible person.-

-You are not, you are an amazing person, and I'm one hell of a lucky guy for being here dancing with you tonight.-

-Thanks, I am too.-

-Sadie, I still feel that way. I've never stopped loving you. And I know things in your life are really complicated right now, and that you just broke up with Blake, and that you have a lot of things in your head, and that maybe you don't want to hear this. But I am here, and I will be here tomorrow, and in a month, even a year. So if you make up your mind, and you do want to be with me, I'll be here when you are ready.-

That was the most BEAUTIFUL thing anyone has ever said to me! And I was just there, speechless, looking like a moron.

I was about to say something when suddenly another guy stands beside us and says

-May I cut in?- I could recognize that voice everywhere, it was Nick. I didn't know what to do, but then Ethan said

-Go ahead, just now you are very lucky.- And then he winked at me and whispered

-You have to figure that out too, good luck.-

Nick was also a great dancer, we danced a little before he said

-I didn't think I would see you here.-

-I didn't know if I was going to come.-

-I see you are here with Ethan, he's a nice guy.-

-I'm not here with anyone, so- He smiled a little

-Is it bad that I'm glad about that?-

I laughed.

-A little-

-You look amazing-

-Thanks, you too-

-So Sadie, I'll get to the point, I really like you, and I would really love to get to know you in person if you'll let me. It doesn't have to be right now, but I just want to know I you think you might give me a chance.-

What does he want me to say! I'm so confused, since when one can be stuck between THREE guys. What the hell!

-Look Nick, I really felt the connection between us when we wrote to each other, it's just, I like you, but I also like Ethan and Blake.-

-Well, it seems to me that you have a choice to make. Hope it's the right one.- He gave me a kiss on the cheek and then he disappeared into the crowd.

I just needed some air. I went to the bathroom, and I started thinking about Ethan, and everything he said, and Nick, and... Blake. Blake didn't show up, he told me he wasn't going to, but I really thought he liked me enough to fight for me. I guess I was wrong about him. It was late, so I texted Liv to tell her I was gonna walk home. I just needed to think.
