Mark is so adorable!

How could he have dated such a terrible person like that? Mark is too kind. He is very understanding and he believes everyone has their own reasons for the things they do. Even with the situation he is in now, he still believes that maybe in some way, Karina has a valid reason and it's not just what she had told him. He doesn't know, he's just extremely upset and is trying to be optimistic. He is upset about the fact that she never told him about his child. He's upset about the fact that she is disowning her own child. He's upset about the fact that she was being a horrible mother.

Mark made his decision right then and there. He will not treat his daughter the way his ex did. He is going to love and protect her no matter what. He will give her the life that she deserves.

Mark looked down where he had set the child, only to find her missing. Mark internally panicked. "Oh my goodness, I lost the child!" He started to tap his finger tips against his pants, on the side on his legs - a habit he does when he gets nervous. He didn't know where she could have gone. Her options were very limited though.
That being because the apartment isn't that big. It's a cozy size for a person. "She couldn't have gone far. She's in here somewhere," he thought to himself. He checked the kitchen first and made sure to look behind everything. Nothing. He then checked the living room, behind the TV and couch. Nothing. He walked inside the bathroom and looked behind the shower curtains and in the closet. Nothing. He walked inside one of his spare room that was empty. Nothing. The only thing left was his bedroom and be hoped she was in there. He looked around next to his bed and both of his nightstands, which were adjacent to it. On his bed, he noticed one of his pillows were missing, but still no sign of the little baby girl.

"Oh gosh," Mark sat on his bed with his head in his hands. He roughly ran his hands through his jet black hair. "Nena, come here please. Stop scaring daddy," Mark spoke gently, hoping the little girl will pop up. Suddenly, he felt something touch the back of his legs. He looked down and noticed the baby girl's head popping out from underneath the bed. She crawled out, dragging his pillow along with her and sat legs crossed on the floor in front of Mark while hugging his pillow.

Mark looked lovingly at the girl. Her features were beautiful he thought. No scratch that, he doesn't think, he knows she is beautiful. The most beautiful baby girl he's ever seen. Her skin was a little tanned and very smooth. Her hair was dark brown and wavy. Her eyes, which now displayed fear, were a chestnut hazel color. Her cheekbones were tiny, but prominent. Her lips were round and pinkish red. She mainly resembled more of Mark and he was thankful for that. She was wearing a lime green T-shirt underneath her overalls that had a pocket in the middle of her tummy with a teddy bear printed on it. Mark thought she was the cutest angel.

"Hi baby," Mark tried to speak as softly as he could. "How old are you?" The little girl just stared at him. Does she not know what he's saying? Maybe he should word it a bit differently. "Your age?" Mark tried asking again and still no response. "Okay, how about what's your name?" Again the baby girl did not answer. "Can you talk yet?" He thought the baby understands what he was saying since she came out from hiding when he asked her to a few moments ago. Unless that was just a coincidence. Mark observed her and noticed how she was gripping his pillow tightly and her eyes flashed a wave of fear. Was he scaring the poor baby? Mark wasn't trying to be intimidating. A lot of people think Mark is intimidating from far away, but that would change once they get to have a regular conversation with him. Mark tried to soften his expression. He just wants to get to know his baby and take care of her.

Mark then noticed a piece of paper inside the baby's overall pocket. "Can I see what's in your pocket?" He asked the baby, hoping to get a response. The baby just sat there. "I'm just going to grab the paper in your pocket, okay?" Mark got up from his bed and crouched down in front of the baby girl. He slowly reached out his hand to grab the paper from her pocket, but the baby flinched, moving back a little. Her breathing started becoming a little heavy. Mark didn't know what just happened. Why is she acting like this? His baby was scared, but why? "I swear if that woman laid a finger on my baby," Mark thought to himself.

"Nena, it's okay. I just want the paper in your pocket," Mark tried to remain calm, but the thought of Mina hurting his baby was making him angry. He took a deep breath and spoke again, more gently. "Nena," Mark gave her a nickname. "I won't hurt you my baby. I promise, I will not hurt you." He watched as her eyes started to become glossy.

He realized the baby's breathing has slowed down and became regular again. He still saw the tension in her body and the uncertainty in her eyes. He witnessed how she went from being tensed, to more relaxed. Mark took this chance to slowly reach out again and grab the paper in her pocket. Successfully, he was able to get a hold of it. He gave his baby a smile. Mark opened the folded paper and read it. It was her birth certificate. He was able to read her name and birth date: Lee Min-ji born January 27. She just turned two years old a few months ago.

"Min-ji, you have a pretty name Nena," Mark smiled at his baby girl. Min-ji kept hugging Mark's pillow without saying anything. Mark's phone suddenly rang. He got up and walked towards to his nightstand to pick it up. He read the name of the caller ID: Channie☀️💛. Smiling, he accepted the call while putting the phone against his ear.

"Hello? Haechan?" Mark started. Haechan is Mark's best friend. They have know each other since they were in diapers. "Now?" Mark asked while looking at his daughter. "Alright, you can come over. I have something to tell you." Mark and Haechan then said their goodbyes. Haechan was on his way over to hang out with him. Mark glanced over at the time, which read 10:17AM. It's still pretty early and Haechan was going to be here in about fifteen minutes. "How will he react?" Mark asked himself, his head now facing the wall. Mark and Haechan never kept any secrets from each other. Mark then pushed the questions in his head aside and looked at his baby girl once again.

"Nena, daddy's best friend is coming over. I think you'll like him, he's the best!" Mark said excitedly, hoping to make Min-ji smile. Yeah, that didn't happen. Mark then started to think about the things he needs to provide for his baby. He'll have to go out to the store to buy things for her. Karina didn't even give him Min-ji's belongings, if she even had any. Hopefully, Haechan wouldn't mind going out to the mall. "Are you hungry?" Mark asked as he himself was actually hungry. He can only imagine how hungry his child might be.

The baby girl still sat there, but her gaze fell. Mark furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, but then relaxed. "I think you are, come on let's eat, hm?" Mark said, trying to convince his baby. He slowly started to walk out his room, only to be stopped by tiny arms being wrapped around his leg. "Y-you le-leave?" Min-ji choked out as tears rolled down her face. Mark panicked and quickly tried to push that thought out of her mind. "No, no, no, of course not! I'm just going to make some breakfast...although I'm no cook.." Mark scratched the back of his nape.

He felt his baby girl nod her head against his legs. "Do you want me to carry you?" Mark asked. Min-ji released her arms that were wrapped around his legs and stood up. She raised her arms in the air and made grabby hands, signaling that she does want to be carried. Mark bent down and lifted Min-ji off the ground. He made his way into the kitchen and set her down on the counter.

Haha! I was really contemplating on what name I should use, but I just made one up instead! Poor Min-ji!
