*you should listen to this piece! It's beautiful..*
"Oh hey Mark. What are you doing here on your day off?" the blonde haired male at the register asked. "Hi, Taeyong. I'm here to play some piano," Mark replied with a smile. "Well you're in luck. The practice room is empty at the moment," Taeyong grinned and waved at the baby in Haechan's hold. "Thank you! Don't stay out too late," Mark said and guided Haechan to the practice room.
Mark advised them to sit in the chairs beside the piano. He tugged the silk cover from the piano and pushed back the lid. He took a seat on the bench, his hands hovering over the white tiles. He moved his fingers along the board to warm up. "This is one of my favorite pieces by Chopin, called Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2," he said and continued, "hopefully, I still remember how to play."
Mark's hands gracefully danced across the keyboard, making sure to hit every tile with emphasis. Min-ji's full attention was on the scene exhibiting in front of her. Her eyes sparkled, her mouth agape, her hands clutched together below her chin. She let the music cave through her ears without any restriction. Haechan observed the baby in his lap, smiling fondly. "He still got it," Haechan mumbled as Mark played on, the music growing more intense.
Haechan had to admit. Everything about this was so breathtaking and mesmerizing. He doesn't know how to describe it. Mark finished playing the last few notes and finally looked up at his baby and Haechan. Haechan clapped as Min-ji slid off of his lap and waddled her way towards Mark. She pulled herself up on the bench and stared down at the piano keys. She pat Mark's arm and lifted his hand on top of the row of tiles. She wanted him to play some more. She could listen for hours and hours.
Haechan stood behind them and watched as Mark moved his fingers again. Min-ji subconsciously moved her hand on top of the keyboard and pressed on a tile. But she quickly retracted and backed away, almost falling off the bench if Haechan hadn't been there to catch her. "Min-ji be careful please," Haechan and Mark told her to which the said baby winced in fear.
Mark sighed and held her hand, placing it on the piano. "There are seven notes on the white tiles, A, B, C, D, E, F, and G," Mark slowly moved Min-ji's fingers across the keyboard. "As you go along, the same seven notes repeat. As you move towards the right, the notes get higher and as you move to the left, the notes become lower," Mark explained as Min-ji carefully listened to each word. Mark was then explaining to her about the black keys and how they're natural and flat tones are used for different reasons.
"You try going up the scale," Mark told her as she complied, using her pointer finger to slide across the keys from A-G. Mark and Haechan praised her for being able to pick that up quickly. "One day, I play good," Min-ji said as she made it her own personal goal to become just as good as her father, maybe even better. "I'll teach you, you will do really well. One day, I'm sure you're going to achieve a lot," Mark had replied with a smile as Haechan agreed and Min-ji nodded.
Mark looked at Haechan behind them, at pat on the empty spot on the bench besides him. He sat down and Mark intertwined their hands, lacing their fingers as Haechan rested his head on the older's shoulder. Min-ji was concentrating hard on what Mark had taught her, trying to play the scale with more than one finger.
After about an hour, the three made their way to the park with a bag of food. It was a little past six in the evening, as the sun started to set. They sat down at the picnic table and began eating their dinner.
After dinner, Mark whispered in Min-ji's ear as Haechan found it odd, "Are you ready?" Min-ji nodded and pulled a sunflower out of the ground. She waddled over to Haechan and stretched the sunflower to his grasp, "For sunflower." Haechan cooed at the baby and thanked her, feeling something around his neck. He rose his hand and looked down, touching what now was a silver necklace with a sunflower attached around his neck. He turned around to face Mark who finished clipping the necklace.
"Mark...it's beautiful. Why did you get me this? You didn't have to," Haechan said, at a loss for words as he blushed. "Donghyuck," Mark spoke and whenever Mark said his actual name, it meant he was serious.
"We have known each other for so long and I can't imagine my life without you. You were always there with me when I would laugh. You were always there with me when I would smile. You were always there for me when I would fall. You were always there for me when I would cry. You were always there when I needed you the most. I seriously can't thank you enough. We have been through so much together and you know me better than anyone else," Mark said as he was gazing deeply into the younger's eyes, which were glistening in the sunlight. Min-ji watched the two men standing in front of her and fiddled with her fingers. "Lee Donghyuck, I love you so much. Will you be my boyfriend?"
Haechan couldn't stop smiling, his eyes becoming glossy, "Of course you idiot. I love you too." Haechan wrapped his arms around the older's neck and kissed him. Mark kissed back, circling his arms around the younger's smaller waist. They broke off the kiss as Haechan snuggled his face into the crook of Mark's neck.
Suddenly, Haechan pulled back with an apprehensive expression, "Wait, I don't want to be your boyfriend if Min-ji is still uncomfortable." Mark only smiled, "I asked her and she agreed with the idea. She helped me plan everything out." Haechan sighed in relief and proudly said, "Okay, then I'm definitely your boyfriend now."
Mark giggled at the younger, who is now his boyfriend. Haechan crouched down to Min-ji, "Thank you Min-ji...for accepting me." Min-ji wanted to give the male a hug, but something stopped her and she didn't know what. Instead, Min-ji simply nodded.
Mark was extremely happy as they drove back to his apartment. Haechan was now his boyfriend and he couldn't be happier. Him and Min-ji are the best things that ever happened to him. He finished giving Min-ji a bath and dressed her in her pajamas. Haechan was waiting for them on the couch so that they could watch a movie.
They sat down and Haechan laid his head on Mark's lap while the older played with his hair. Min-ji sat beside Mark, feeling a little left out since she wanted to be on Mark's lap. However, she kept quiet as Mark wrapped one of his arms around her and watched the movie.
