It was three in the morning and Mark woke up feeling thirsty. He can't stand waking up in the middle of the night for water, that's just precious sleep being lost by the second. Mark threw his blanket off of him and dragged himself off his bed, making his way into the kitchen. He poured himself a glass of water and drank it. Feeling refreshed, he walked back to his room, but stopping in his tracks. "I should check on Min-ji," he thought to himself and he spun around on his heels and opened Min-ji's door.

Mark jumped back a little and his eyes widened as he was wasn't expecting to see Min-ji sitting up, staring at the door. "Nena, what's wrong? Why aren't you sleeping?" He worriedly asked her and walked towards her. She looked down at her bed, shoulders risen to her chin as if she was being scolded at. "Hey, hey it's okay, Min-ji. You should sleep, it's really late. You'll be tired later," Mark told her. "I'll tuck you in." Her eyes were weary and Mark could tell she hasn't slept at all. Mark tucked her in. He didn't know what to do to help her fall asleep and he doesn't even know why she isn't sleeping. "Get some sleep, okay? Goodnight, Nena," Mark said.

Mark walked back in his room, leaving both their doors open. He reclined himself on his bed and shut his eyes. "S-sleep?.." a small voice spoke and Mark shot his eyes wide open. He sat up and looked at the door, where Min-ji stood staring at the ground while fiddling with her fingers. Mark flashed a small, warm smile while opening his arms, "Yes you can. Come here."

Min-ji shyly waddled her way to Mark's arms and he lifted her on his bed. "Are you having trouble sleeping lately, Min-ji?" He asked his baby softly as he laid both of them down. Min-ji was beside Mark with her face nuzzled in his neck. She nodded and Mark rubbed her back. She tensed for a few seconds, but soon relaxed. "I won't hurt you, Nena, don't worry," Mark whispered as he heard soft snores. Mark smiled and pulled the covers over them. He fell asleep with his baby in his arms.

Mark was awoken by the ringtone of his phone. The group chat he is in with his closest friends, "The Dreamies." Mark answered the phone with one hand while the other rubbed his eyes. "Good morning sleep heads!" a boy with a high pitched laugh screamed. Mark winced at the sound and lowered his volume since Min-ji was asleep next to him. She has her head laid on his chest as one of her legs draped over his stomach.

"Goodness Chenle! It's too early for this," an angry Renjun snapped. "Oh shut up. You have to get up for your morning classes anyway," Chenle sassily replied. "I swear when I see you I'm going t-"

"Okay! Moving along here, why did you call?" Jeno stepped in. A cranky Renjun in the morning is never the greatest and it's best not to anger him or else a wrath of hell will be released. "Well, Jisung and I thought it would be cool if we hung out tonight!" Chenle stated. "What?! When did I ever say this?" Jisung questioned in uttering confusion. Chenle put his pointer finger to his lip, signaling for the younger to shut his mouth.

"Okay, that sounds cool," Jaemin responded and Jeno nodded his head. "What do you think about that Junnie?" Jaemin asked in the sweetest voice possible, afraid to get the older mad. "I don't care," Renjun huffed with a pout. All he wants to do is sleep. Both Jaemin and Jeno cooed at the older.

"But it's Monday, we start school today," Haechan reminded his friends. "Yeah, why are we going to hang out on a Monday? That's weird, Friday's are better," Jisung exclaimed. "Are you really going to agrue with me about which days are better to hang out? Do you really want to do that?" Chenle scowled and Jisung zipped his mouth shut, "Thought so, anyways so what if it's Monday! The days of the week don't justify when we can hang out."

"I have work after school," Mark finally spoke. "So do I! I have a shift at the library after my morning classes," Haechan butted in so that hopefully Chenle would change their hang out day. "They do have a point. We can hang out this Friday," Jeno said with his infamous eye smile. "Hm, okay," Chenle agreed and Jisung scoffed. Nobody can say no to Jeno and beautiful his smile. "So you agree with him, but scold me?!" Jisung inquired with an angry expression.

"Oh come on Jisung, nobody can resist his smile, right Jaemin and Renjun?" Chenle smirked and both said boys blushed, along with Jeno. "Friday sounds good to me. You guys can come over my apartment," Mark suggested, changing the subject and all the boys agreed. "Great! Also Mark, what's on your chest?" Chenle asked. Mark looked down, nearly forgetting his child sleeping peacefully on top of him. "U-uh," Mark stuttered, unsure of what to say. "My new blanket?" Mark replied. "Yeah, the one I got you, remember Markie?!" Haechan quickly saved his best friend. Mark wants to wait and tell their friend group about his child on Friday because he's afraid of their reaction. Haechan knew Mark was worried, so he helped him out.

Chenle said something about the 'blanket' appearing to be fluffy to which Mark nervously chuckled. Soon their call ended and Mark read the time, 7:01AM. Mark groaned, setting his alarm to wake up at eleven and
going back to sleep.

Mark woke up for the third time today. This time being from something poking his face, specifically his cheeks. Mark slowly opened his eyes and stared at the concentration on his baby's face. She was so intrigued with playing with Mark's face and noticed him now awake. Min-ji jumped back a little, afraid she might get scolded for waking him up. She felt hands grab her body as she was now sitting on top of Mark's stomach. She looked down and Mark spoke up. "Good morning my beautiful baby!" Min-ji folded her hands behind her back. "I'm not mad at you. You're not in trouble. You didn't do anything wrong, it's okay," Mark assured her, unfolding her hands and kissing them softly.

Min-ji slowly raised her head and gazed at Mark. Mark smiled at her while stroking her tangled hair with one hand, while the other was still holding one of her tiny hands. Min-ji bent down and laid her small body on top of his. She was listening to the thumping, steady beat of Mark's heart and she finally felt at ease.
