Ricky- Sinus Infection (request)

a/n- Ricky and Nini aren't together in this, it when Nini isn't with neither him nor EJ. Also, I was going to post this on Thursday (1/14) as a congrats of 'Lie Lie Lie' but with Josh in the hospital, I decided to hold off. I'm also just stopping the hey this curses things from now on because it kinda ruins the emotion of it when you know its coming :) I hope you like it!

General POV

Ricky had had a cold the past few days. The cast all knew he was a bit under the weather so they weren't pushing him as hard. Today was different. Ricky had a killer headache and was quiet all day. He was so congested you could barely understand him at times.

"Are you sure you are up for rehearsal today? You don't seem so good." Carlos asked Ricky.

None of the group noticed Nini turn and look to the other end of the table where Ricky sat.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just a cough. I honestly have a bit of a headache going so I might talk with Miss Jenn to see if at times I can just read my lines instead of full acting them while I sit."

"That's a good idea." Big Red said.

Carlos, Seb, and Gina nodded and they went back to talking about random things. Nini was confused at what was going on but brushed it off. He probably just wanted attention or for her to feel bad for him. She could feel herself want to feel bad but pushed that thought away. 

"Earth to Nini?" Kourtney was snapping her fingers in front of Nini's face.

"oh um, what?" She said turning her attention to her best friend.

"Did you hear anything I said? I asked if you wanted to go out and get ice cream or something after rehearsal as a little girl's hang out like we used to do."

"Yess let's go." Ricky was still in Nini's mind but not as relevant. The bell rang signaling the end of lunch and the school dispersed from the cafeteria.

The rest of the day went pretty quickly. Big Red was constantly checking on Ricky. The rest of the theater kids did too when they passed him. Ricky talked to Miss Jenn before rehearsals started and she was glad he was taking care of himself, and that he was still willing to try his hardest. 

"Just don't strain your voice Bowen." Carlos said walking away from the two. 

Ricky only sat down periodically during rehearsal. During the last 30 minutes, his headache became worse and he had to excuse himself to get a bit of quiet to stop the slight pounding. His head hurt and his face hurt around his nose. Gina came out to check on him per Miss Jenn's request. Gina slid down the wall next to him.

"You ok? And tell me the truth because you definitely aren't." She spoke up after a few minutes.

"I have a headache and my face hurts." He said bluntly, still staring at the wall in front of him.

"Wait where does it hurt?" 

"Around my nose and like under my eyes, a little between my eyebrows lol." Ricky said leaning his head back against the wall.

"Ricky, you mean here?" Gina asked lightly touching his face in the spots he said, the sick kid nodded, "That's not good."

"Why?" Ricky looked her in the eyes confused.

"You have a sinus infection. Rehearsals won't be fun, nor while the next 2 weeks probably."

"Oh. We should go back in, my head has calmed down enough." Gina nodded and helped him up.
