Captain Rex x Reader

3. Chapter

Y/N Pov:

I woke up and looked at the ceiling, the events from the day before flooding back into my mind. I just wanted to get up and talk to the guy who killed my master (he's kept as prisoner), when there's a knock at my door. I wondered who would come to visit me this early and after a moment I came to the conclusion that it could only be Anakin or Ahsoka. „Come in." I said to not let them wait any longer. The door opens and in comes Ahsoka. „Good morning y/n, I just wanted to check up on you. I can only imagine how hard yesterday must have been for you, Anakin told me about what happened. I am so sorry." She looked at me with worry and concern showing off in her eyes. 

„Thank you 'Soka, I'm fine. I actually just wanted to go talk to him." I said with a fake smile, trying to hold back my tears. She seemed to buy my act and gave me a smile in return. „That's very good to hear, and remember when somethings wrong you can always come to me and talk about it." I was moved by that and almost choked out a sob. „Thank you very much 'Soka, I'll definitely keep that in mind." She seemed to be satisfied with my answer so she said goodbye and walked out of my room.

I decided to go eat breakfast before talking to the murder of my "father". I walked into the breakfast hall and enjoyed seeing everyone there being comfortable and playful. I walked to the buffet (which only consisted of weird looking little cubes), got myself a plate, put some of the cubes on the plate and walked to an empty table in the back of the hall. I sat down and looked at the cubes wondering what they would taste like, when my thoughts were cut off from a voice. 

„Would you mind us sitting with you general? The boys and I would like to get to know you." I looked up to see Rex and a few of his brothers that I haven't seen before. „Not at all, y'all can sit wherever you want. I'd like to get to know all of you too." I said waving my arms in the direction of the other chairs on the table, a genuine smile gracing my lips. I didn't want to admit it but I was secretly happy about the company.

They introduced themselves to me, their names are Fives, Hevy, Kix, Cody, Jesse and Rex but he didn't introduce himself to me since we already know each other. „It's a pleasure to meet you guys! I'm y/n l/n but you can call me y/n." They all looked at me with an amused face and Fives explained why everyone was so amused. „ You don't have to introduce yourself General, every single clone in here already knows your name." I must've looked quite confused because he seemed to notice that I didn't know what he was talking about and went on. „Everybody's been talking about your little stunt yesterday. I mean you being arrested by Rex and yelling at him." I finally understood what he meant and my face went red from embarrassment.

„Oh yeah that makes sense I guess. By the way you don't have to call me General, it makes me feel uncomfortable because it sounds like I would be in some way above you, which I'm not, we're all equals! So yeah just call me y/n" 

They looked at me surprised before they began smiling. „I already like you" they all said in unison except Rex, since he already knew that I didn't like it when clones were treated like they would be worth less than any other person. I blushed at what they said and told them that I like them as well. I suddenly got an idea and decides that I would embarrass Rex before his men a little bit. 

„Did you guys know that BJ-"

„Don't call me that!" Rex cut me off and shot me a glare. I just shrugged it off  and continued on.

„Anyways did you know that he wouldn't be sitting here with us now if I wouldn't have saved him yesterday?" I said with a glint of mischief in my eyes and a grin on my face. 

They looked up from their "food" and looked at Rex, expecting him to either confirm what I just said or to deny it, but Rex didn't even look up and just continued eating. Kix was the one to speak up before any of the other ones could. „I have a few questions right now. The first one is, what was that with BJ all about?" I saw Rex flinching at his nickname. „And the other question is if that is true, because Rex never told us about that."

Rex shot me a quick glare that was saying 'don't you dare answer both of these questions', but I just acted like I didn't notice it and started answering the questions Kix asked me. „BJ is my nickname for Rex. It's background is that he told Obi-Wan he couldn't babysit me and shoot droids at the same time. I of course course was annoyed at him for saying that he would've to babysit me, so I thought of him as a jerk. During the fights with the droids he tripped or fell, but I saw him on the ground. Before him was a droid a moment away from shooting Rex so I jumped with the help of the force and blocked the droids shot with my lightsaber. I asked him who needed to be babysit now, he just glared at me and said something ironic along the lines of ‹very funny y/n›. So to answer your question BJ stands for Baby Jerk and yes the story is to 100% real."

They just looked at me for a second before thy all burst into laughter, tears of laughing already filling their eyes. Rex was shifting uncomfortably in his chair. His face face bright red but his expression remained stoic. After s few seconds I finally picked up my fork and began eating these weird cubes. They actually taste like nothing, I missed the food they gave us at the temple but I knew that I just had to accept that and since it doesn't taste like anything, it doesn't taste bad either.

I was halfway done when the guys eventually started to calm down. Jesse was the first to calm down completely, he wiped his tears away and spoke up. „ That was hilarious! But how did you manage to let Rex call you that?" I was about to answer him, but Rex beat me to it. „She didn't! And I'm definitely gonna get her back for that." He said shooting a glare at me but also warning me to be careful over the next time. I gulped when I saw the determination in his eyes to get me back on this. 

I suddenly remembered that I'd wanted to go talk to our prisoner. „I have to go talk with a prisoner, does anyone want my cubes?" Hevy lifted his arm in the air so I gave him my plate and left them to their breakfast after saying goodbye.

As soon as I was left alone with my thoughts in the hallway, my happiness washed away and I became sad again. Up until then I haven't realized how much I liked having the company of the boys. 

After another 5 minutes I reached the cell of the guy I -more or less- wanted to encounter. He sat on the bed in the cell and looked up when he heard me enter the cell. He had bandages around his shoulders, where his arms were supposed to be. Even though I hated that guy, I still felt guilty about what I did to him and that I let my emotions take control over me. 

He shot me a hard glare, but remained silent. After some time I spoke up. „What is your name?" It was a stupid question but I didn't want to continue calling him 'the guy', so it seemed like the best way to start off. He looked at me for a little while, as if to ponder whether or not he should answer me before he started speaking. 

A/N: I'm sorry for not updating for so long even though I doubt that it bothered anyone, I still want to apologize. I hope you like this chapter and the little cliffhanger, if you can even call it that. I'll try and update as soon as possible, so see you soon and stay healthy!
