Syreana POV

We had been walking for quite some time. I already knew the way to Ponce de Leon ship, but the rest didn't know that. So Jack ended up leading the way with his compass. I'm honestly quite impressed that he still has it.

At the moment we were in the midst of what seemed to be a rain forest. Considering that the water level was up to the bottom of my breast I would say that it has rained quite a bit. Or else the forest has taken in too much of the ocean's water.

Last time I was here it wasn't near as high as it is now.

As Jack pushed back vines to get through he also allowed them to fly back and hit Grayson in the face. That caused Tim to snort, which caught Damian's attention also causing him to smile. I couldn't help but scoff at the lot. They're something else.

As I approached the vines I saw the veil part before I could do it myself. Two different looking hands had pushed each side away, so I could get through. When I walked through I saw the culprits, who were staring at each other now.

"Thank you." I said looking at them back and forth.

"You're welcome Love." Both of them had glanced at me before whipping their heads back up to look at each other.

Okay this really has to stop.

Thankfully I was saved by scrum before anything else happened.

"Why is it we have to bring her along?" He asked, sounding like he was struggling quite a bit as he sunk farther into the water.

I will say it did look heavy by the way they were holding it.

"Because tears don't keep. We need them fresh."
Angelica explain while going under a large branch.

"What was the ritual again?" Jack asked with his go to confused expression. "Water from the fountain and a mermaid's tear?"

"And two silver chalices. On cup with the tear, one without." She corrected quickly. She looked somewhat irritated by his memory, or really there lack of. I can't blame her this is a big deal. If Jack happens to mess this up.. well it won't be pretty.

"So..water in both- very complicated is it not?"

I couldn't help but chuckle at him. I looked back at Angelica. "Just make sure he doesn't handle anything in the moment."

Jack furrowed his eyebrows. "I still don't get it."

I smiled while playing with Nagini, who was resting my shoulder once again. She felt less heavy though because of the water. "Both get water Jack, but one gets a tear. The one that contains the tear is the one that gives life. Whoever drinks from that cup gets the remaining years of the other drinker's life." I explained, walking backward to look at him as I spoke. It was like having to teach a kid the alphabet.

But I can't deny that he's adorable.

Jack seemed to nod before flinching back a bit, looking down to my right. I looked there as well and saw a snake. Simply picking it up, I teased Jack with it as I spoke.

"See? Everything has a price Jack. Especially the fountain. Fate always requires a victim." I spun around quickly, throwing the hissing snake into the water. Only a few seconds later did Nagini attack it herself.

Well what do you expect. She is still an animal after all.

Nagini had devoured the other snake and simply swam beside me, Tim, and Damian after she had finished. They had gotten quite used to it so it didn't bother them. Hell Damian found it fascinating. That little psycho.
