Only with the light of a torch and lantern could they see. It was dark and foggy. The air was undoubtedly muggy and wet. Tree limbs hang over deep pools of warm water. All of the Pirates had spread out, but one group stayed close together. The first mate of the emerald eyed captain stands a foot distance away from the pools after seeing the terrors that lie inside. While the little mermaid's face is pushed into his chest, sheltering her from any sight of the monstrosity. The sight would cause anyone of the sea to cringe. Even the man that had seen many bad things couldn't help but twinge in pain at the sight.
Death from drying out in the sun is the most painful, and drawn out, way for merpeople to die. It was excruciating. Something that could only be described as boiling from the outside in. Even the boy that stood next to him felt a lump in his throat from the sight.

"I know you do not plan on doing that to her." The first mate says with distaste evident in his tone. The boy that stands beside him must even hold his elbow so he doesn't stray toward Blackbeard.

"Oh I do indeed boy," Blackbeard replies with no remorse or fear. "If this is what it takes to get a tear then it'll be done."

Fumes could almost be seen coming off of Dick Grayson as he exhales shakily. His breathing was now shallow and his grip was tighter on the little mermaid. So much so that he almost didn't even notice when she let out a tiny whimper of pain. Immediately after hearing the noise though he looked down at her with guilt before gently setting her down, now being supported by the boy next to him.

"You're absolutely delusional if you think I'd let you do that to her. Even more so if you thought I would just go along with this- my orders were to help guide you, but my captain trusts my judgment. Even she would never agree to terms like these." He spoke aggressively, spit even managed to escape at the sides of his mouth. "What makes you think you'll get away with this once she returns, and I've told her what you've done?"

Blackbeard grins evilly, and anyone would see the intent behind them. "Who says you have a choice?"

Suddenly Grayson is grabbed from behind, and even though he wasn't easily subdued, he was. Even when he looked back for aid from his crew mate he saw that the young boy had been knocked out from behind. Serena looked up at him in distress, eyes glazed over with water. Never had he felt so helpless.

Syreana POV

   "Gibbs- ,"

"So did you actually get stabbed that bad or?"

"Gibbs-,"

"Wait- where have you even been this whole time?! Have you even been looking for Syreana?!"

"Gibbs!" I yell louder than before, making both boys turn their attention to me with worry. I roll my eyes at them. "No one can hear us calm down." Tossing a rock at the air, it falls right back down after hitting a barrier that lights up in a teal color.

"I still haven't gotten used to that." Jason says with awe in his eyes. I giggled at him and sat down beside him, in front of Gibbs. Jason took this as an opportunity to lock our our hands and kiss mine sweetly.

When I look at Gibbs, smile wide as it can possibly be, I see him glancing back and forth at us. His face was now blank, and by his eyes I knew he was contemplating something. "What is it Gibbs?"

As if I've snapped him out of a daydream he looks at me and shakes his head. "It's just-," he laughs as he looks at the both of us. "It's like you never left." Gibbs says, looking directly at Jason.

"I wish I hadn't." Jason comments, caressing circles onto my hand. His words touched my heart as  his hand touched mine.

God- I miss you grandmother. I need mega girl advise.
