Bait

"Syreana," I heard a soothing voice whisper in my ear, making me stir. I shifted my head to the side and slowly fluttered my eyes open. I stretched out my limb before sitting up. I looked over to the side of my bed to see Nagini slithering to the door. Only then did I notice the sound of commotion coming from outside. I sighed.

"I'm guessing we're sending out the row boats now." I commented to Nagini as I stood. I moved to my closet and grabbed a fresh shirt. I tossed my old one to the side, and slid the new one on as I walked out the door. "Let the chaos begin." I mutter as I walk out onto the deck.

Crewmen were running about, doing their jobs, and several were setting up the boats. As I neared to the side of the ship I heard the voice of my first mate.

"Ahh our Captain is now awake. Right on time, as always."

I scoffed at his playful remark. "Yes I slept quite well even though it was only for a few hours." If I wasn't part goddess I would probably have eye bags already.

"I think we both know you can manage."

I sighed. "Unfortunately, yes."We both laughed before I felt something smooth brush against me. I look down and smile. "Hello amica mea." My love
My hand glided I've Nagini as she slithered over onto the side of the ship. After rubbing her head against my hand she turned her attention to Dick. I giggled at her. She just stared at him as her always does. You see Nagini has a love-hate relationship with Dick. Grayson is very much a tease. So every time he teases me or even Tim..she's not to fond of him.

Grayson of course just stares back her except he never keeps a straight face.

"Well I'm going to go to shore."Both turned to me after I interrupted their intense eye battle. "Now if you would like to join me I suggest you follow."
I tell Nagini as I climbed up onto the side. "Oh! And Loverboy."Immediately Dick turned his head to me with a goofy grin. I rolled my eyes at him. "Only send two boats. Make sure the boys are on one of them. I need them to come as well. We're in their territory now."

At the mention of "them" Dick nodded his head solemnly. Not that that lasted to long though. That expression quickly changed as he asked, "And what about our new crew mate?"I pushed my lips together as I looked back over to my working men. Jason came into my view.

"Just keep an eye on him."

Keeping that small smile on his face Dick nodded once again. "Aye, aye captain."He gave me a small salute before running off to work. With that I took one last glimpse at my first love before falling back into the water. Once I was fully submerged I ran my fingers through the water as you would with clean sheets on a mattress.

Oh how I've missed you.

It's only been a short while since I've been in the ocean, but it's been longer since I've been able to swim freely by myself.
From being overwhelmed about the feel of the ocean on my skin I was totally oblivious to the change of my leg. The tail that I hadn't seen in some time appeared. That's when a smile grew on my face. With one push of my tail I was moving at a fast speed toward white cap bay. Swarms of bubbles floated around me as I swam. Finally as I drew near to the delta of white cap bay I heard someone yelled.

"There's one! Right there."

Quickly I burst through the surface of the water. This caused many screams to abrupt from the men. I chuckled at this and shook my head.

"Your men scare to easily Blackbeard." I announced as I transformed once again. As I grew closer to the shore my legs appeared. Finally I was walking onto the sand shore. "This is why I don't take to many sailors from Tortuga that are drinking the whole night. Or really the ones that can't hold their weight if they do." I ran my fingers through my hair as I spoke, and looked toward Jack to see him smiling.

"I'll keep that in mind Siren."I turned my gaze back on Blackbeard to see him watching his men work closely.

"I'm guessing you'll be wanting to lear them to shore, so you can catch one."
Blackbeard simply hums and nods. A grin appears on my face. "I see.."

Perfect, just in time I see some of my crew men arrive as well. Along with Nagini of course. She likes to move at her own pace. So when she finally slithered up my leg I chuckled at her. " I'm guessing you saw that Tim will be ashore soon."As I spoke Blackbeard and Angelica took a glance at me. In which they probably got a pretty good look at Nagini as well. Angelica let out a gasp while her father simply just stared at her.

"Ahhh Nagini,"

Oh dear lord

"We meet again."

By now Nagini was partly on the shoulder. So when Jack come up to her, and I think we all know how she feels about him, she got a bit tense.

"You've gotten quite bigger haven't you." Jack said with a gulp. He knew it to.

Luckily before Jack could get eaten alive a familiar voice rang through the air." Captain."

Immediately a smile was brought to my face, and I quickly take of running. "Timmy!!"I jumped to him, embracing him tightly.

He stumbled a bit before returning the hug. "Why must you always do this?"

I groaned childishly. "Because I missed someone that can think logically and creatively that doesn't make flirtatious and pretentious comments." He scoffed at my comment. "Besides," I pulled away from him fully, "Nagini missed you as well."

This is when his gaze went straight to my shoulder. They widened at the sight, and a smile crept up his face. "Bene, bene.. ego vos desiderabat Nagini."
Well, well... I missed you Nagini.

She over course automatically tried to hide in my hair. "Oh no, no."I shook my head and gently grabbed Nagini. "You will be working with Tim any how. I must take care of my own duties."With that I made sure she softly got back onto the sand floor.
"Do behave yourself."

Then I quickly left. If I had stayed any longer they would get nowhere. I would go nowhere. And I have to make sure everything goes smoothly.
But of course! When I walked back over to the many men. I see that Blackbeard has already sent a lone ship into the mermaids grasp. Thankfully none of them had attracted any yet.

"Captain Blackbeard!"I quickly walk over to the trio, of complete morons at most. "Please tell me my first mate is on that ship."

"He is."I sighed in relief. "Yes he was quite persistent about it, so I felt no need to detest."

A grin rose on my lips. "He's just following orders."
Blackbeard raised his eyebrow at me, and seemed to want to ask me something. Though it seems Angelica has a quicker tongue.

"Why did you order him onto the boat? Certainly you know that's like a death sentence."

I chuckle. "Hardly. Grayson has been among his fair share of mermaids as well as mermen. Even the cannibals that call themselves mermaids."Distaste was evident in my voice towards the end. "Quite frankly ...he is the only hope for the poor sailors on that death trap." This made Angelica look back at the boat with sympathy, a bit of fear, and even a bit of intrigue. "Luckily, we have half of the plan complete already. Now that our trap is set all we have to do is wait for the fish to nip at the bait. The thing about that is...
