"Syreana? Is it really you?"Once again I lost my voice completely. I slowly shut the door, clearing my throat as I did. I looked him up and down before chuckling. "The one and only," I spoke in joking tone but felt in no way a playful. I was overwhelmed.
I swear Fate is such a bitch.
"What happened to you?" He asked with confusion evident in his tone.
I scoffed slightly at the irony. "I should be the one asking you that." I sighed before beginning my stuttering rant of questions, "Have you been- did you ever- How long-?" I huffed out of aggravation and looked up to the ceiling. I was trying my hardest to not cry.
Apparently Jason had noticed and cautiously took a step closer to me, "I've been on that ship ever sense that scoundrel stabbed me, and yes I did try to escape. It felt as if I was dying being away from you. It was the worse thing that has ever happened to me." Now he stood in front of me, and his words grew quieter, "Every single waking moment I longed for you. I had wondered if you were forced into marrying him- and I was so worried that he had-,"
That was my cue. I quickly jumped onto him, embracing him as tightly as I could. Tears flowed from my eyes, but I honestly didn't care. I had missed him for too long.He had landed on his ass, but didn't complain once. He simply returned my embrace and cried into the crook of my neck, just as I was doing to him.
Only a few seconds could Jason make the remark, "So how has my wife been."
I laughed through my sobbing at that. I wiped my eyes, still laughing. "She has grown quite popular."
I stated jokingly."Oh I know,"He said chuckling himself, wiping my cheeks that were now glossy do to my tears. "Everyone knows of the Powerful Siren of the ocean."
A light laugh left me as I let my head drop some. "Yes, everyone seems to know me."
Jason moves a strand of hair that dangled from my from my head, and lifted my head with his finger under my chin. "Well they were absolutely right about one thing."
I looked up to stare into his eyes. "What's that?"
"Your still the most gorgeous woman I have ever laid my eyes upon." He said looking me up and down, as if he was trying to memorize my face over again. A small smile crept onto my face at his comment. "Oh I saw it. Now there's my real smile."
Rolling my eyes at him I said, "I swear I have no idea how I used to put up with you."
Jason chuckled as he help me stand up. "Well that's because you love me."
I hummed fondly returning the favor once I was able to stand. "I know, that's what makes it so infuriating." I teased, scrunching up my nose and shaking my head.
Jason smiles widely, tapping my nose. "You're adorable,"He whispered under his breath. That made my smile grow even wider. We were so close in proximity that it hurt not giving into the edge to kiss him. "Do you still have it?"He asked out of nowhere, but I knew exactly what he meant.
Nodding I walked over to a creeky board, taking his hand as I did to guide him. I let it go to get on my knees. Then I tore the loose board off the deck. Inside was a black, leather box. Carefully I took it out and placed the board back to it's rightfully place.
"I wanted to make sure it would be safe. So even if someone found this,"I waved my hand by the lock and the green glow came from my hand once again, opening it, "They wouldn't be able to open it." I glance up at him.
Jason's eyes were filled with surprise after seeing my magic. "That's new," He remarked, making me chuckle. "But this isn't," He added taking out the 'necklace' as carefully as he could. Once he had fully removed it we could both see the wedding and engagement ring dangling at the end of the chain. "You don't know how much it means to me that you kept this."
I furrowed my eyebrows as I lifted myself to stand beside him. "Did you think I would get rid of it?"
He shrugged. "Maybe over time, or on worse circumstances." I nodded my head understanding what he meant. I know for a fact if I ever did marry Beckett that if he ever found that ring he would immediately get rid of it. "But I did expect you to move on at some point. Though even if you did because I am selfish, I hoped that you would always keep me in your heart." He added softly, looking ashamed.
I shook my head stepping forward to cup his face.
"Hey, it's okay. The fact that you were okay with me moving on and being happy shows your love for me."
I said, and that's when realization filled my mind. I did move on. Maybe not completely, but I did move on.I closed my eyes sighing. Feeling Jason shift beside me. "You did, didn't you?" I looked up at him and nodded. "Please tell me it was with a woman." He joked.
I scoffed, "Well.. there was a woman named Helena."
I said playfully. Then it was Jason's turn to scoff. "Was? What happened?"
I smiled at the thought of her. "She's free, has her own business and everything. What we had was never serious, but we did care for each other."
Jason looked at me with a thoughtful gaze, never a drop of judgment. "So who is it?"
I rubbed my arm, "*whisper* Jack Sparrow."
Jason raised his eyebrow. "Who?"
I sighed again, "Jack Sparrow."
Jason's eyes widened. "Jack- you mean the trouble making pirate?!"
"Yeah..."I said slightly wincing at the trouble-making part. I mean he did start up a mutiny.
Jason shook his head, chuckling softly. "Wow you went a whole different direction."
I nodded, "Yeah.. I know, but there is so much more to him. He's the only other person that ever made me feel as alive as you did."
Jason stared at me knowingly. He knew I was being truthful. He always could tell. He let out a forced breath, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well I guess this means I'll have to fight for you, doesn't it?"
My eyes widened as I quickly looked up to his face.
"What?""Well you didn't think I would ever just let go of you did you? I still love you with my every being, so there is no way in hell I'm letting you go without a fight."He said love and determination filling his voice.Jason caresses my cheek gently before bringing himself down to kiss my cheek. I felt butterflies erupt throughout my body. Oh how I missed him. "And even if you do end up picking him, know that I will never leave your side." He added looking straight into my eyes.
And with that he stepped away from me, and walked toward the door. Once he opened it he turned to me and said, "Goodnight," He smiled efore whispering one last sweet nothings , "My dear wife."
Then he shut the door. I slumped down onto my bed, millions of thoughts flooded through my mind. But one stuck....
This was going to be so damn complicated.
