Bakugo POV
Kiri was cleared for training and we headed to the field. Even with his ankle still bugging him, he was still allowed to participate as long as he stopped when it started to hurt, same conditions as me. We were second to go and sat back as we watched Mina and Toru went against Tokoyami and Ojiro. Kiri was eagerly cheering on Mina, he was so cute with that dopey grin he wore. He was excited, not just for Mina, but also because we were up next. Neither of us had worked out or trained in more than 2 weeks. To be honest, I was excited. I was excited to move, to train, to fight.Mina and Toru won their round and all might qued us for our battle. We had 2 mins to discuss strategy and then we would begin. We decided I would take Deku and Kiri would take Iida. We both waited at the door, our first battle back. We would make this one a good one.
The fight lasted maybe 10 mins. Kiri was able to handle Iida, but Deku. Damn Deku. He was too hard. I could tell he was going easy on me. I couldn't even beat him when he was going easy on me. I could never hear him coming. He would go behind me and I couldn't hear him. He would go behind walls and around corners and I couldn't hear him. I couldn't hear him. I couldn't hear anything. How was I supposed to be a hero like this? If I couldn't beat Deku, if I couldn't hear Deku, how was I supposed to hear a villain? How was he supposed to beat someone he couldn't see like Toru? If he couldn't hear them, and couldn't see them, what was he supposed to do? He followed Kiri to Recovery Girls office, brain going a million miles an hour. How would he ever be number one? How would he even be a hero?
