"is everyone really gonna be there..?" kiibo tilted his head, looking over the invitation.

day - new year's eve

place - kaito's house (xxxx - xxxxx - xx)

bring a food or drink of your choice and feel free to enjoy the new year with all of us! everyone's coming, so you should too!

- kaito momota

"well, i guess i should ask kokichi and miu if they got one of these as well." kiibo shrugged and went to go knock on one of the rooms in their apartment.

miu had made a little space for herself in the room when she had to take her inventions home to work on them further, and though kokichi didn't really get it, in his spare time he would watch her work on them as they talked and joked together.

now that kiibo thought about it, kokichi and miu were always close friends at hope's peak. it's no wonder he developed a crush on them both; they were always finding some way to annoy or laugh about one-another.

they knocked on the door. "miu?"

"come in!"

he opened the door to unsurprisingly see them both - miu was working on an invention, kokichi was laying on the couch by the wall.

"hi! i was just wondering..did you two get an invitation like this as well?" kiibo held up the purple invitation from kaito.

"huh? yeah, it was for a party or something, right?" miu nodded, taking her attention away from the invention for a moment. "did you, kokichi?"

"surprisingly, yeah, i did. probably just an invite out of fear; my evil organization would come for poor kaito if i didn't get invited! he'd have to!" kokichi grinned.

ignoring kokichi's boast, kiibo looked back at his invitation. "should we go?"

"it is new year's eve tomorrow. we should! they'd all be left feeling empty if i didn't even bother to show up at their stupid party, anyways!" miu barked a laugh, picking up her invention again.

"woooow, miu's actually right about something for once! common sense and decency is apparently super hard, but it's a big accomplishment for someone with as big an ego as you!" kokichi's eyes seemed shocked, lighting up with surprise, but his mouth curved into a smirk.

"w-what?! i'm right all the time, you clown!-" her face flushed in embarassment.

"but the tiiiiiny thing she's right about is that if we didn't go to kaito's party, he'd make a huge fuss about it. better just to go and not let everyone down, eh?"

"i suppose that's right...we should go. i wouldn't want to make them all feel bad." kiibo sighed, trying to resolve kokichi and miu's bickering once again.

---

and so, the three found themselves on kaito momota's doorstep, a baked good or drink in each hand. kokichi rang the doorbell, with an immediate greeting from kaede and shuichi.

"it's so nice to see you two, oh my gosh! it feels like it's been forever, but it's only been a few months!" kaede was talkative, chattering about her piano concerts and miu's newest inventions.
