"Here you go."

The warm cup of hot cocoa in Jake's hands was taken by his soulmate, and Sunghoon thanked him softly as Jake sat down beside him on the couch. The Netflix logo appeared on the TV and Jake lifted the TV remote to choose something to watch.

"I love these pyjamas, where did you buy them?" Sunghoon asked, looking for the logo on the pyjamas Jake had given him.

"Saint Laurent, so please look after them," Jake joked, putting his head on Sunghoon's shoulder. "What do you want to watch? I've watched the majority of these shows already…"

"Start-Up looks good," Sunghoon hummed, pointing to the far left of the TV screen. "Are you comfortable, Jakey?"

"I should be asking you that," Jake smiled, looking at the other for a moment. "You seem happier already. Am I that much of an effect on you?"

"You drive me crazy, and that's enough to make me happy," Sunghoon replied softly. Jake let out a little laugh, shaking his head. "For the record, when's your birthday?"

"November 15. Yours?"

"December 8." Sunghoon was quiet for a moment. "Happy belated birthday, Jake."

"It's okay, it was over two weeks ago," Jake gave a weak shrug. "Besides, I found you. And that's the best birthday present ever."

Sunghoon smiled, some pride dancing along his thoughts. He looked at Jake again. "My birthday is coming up soon, so I hope I'm getting something."

Jake smiled. "Maybe I can kiss you."

"That'd be perfect."

Jake laughed slightly and the room went dark as the episode started, only the red letter N of the Netflix logo illuminating the room for a few seconds. "Those kinds of things can wait. We just met."

"Then let's get to know one another even more," Sunghoon smiled softly, putting his mug of cocoa down on the table beside the couch. "Shim Jaeyoon. Prefers to be called Jake. Tell me about your life in Australia."

"Life sucked in Australia, I'd rather not talk about it." Jake's smile was slightly smaller, and it didn't seem that Sunghoon was going to drop it without an explanation. "Australia was okay, I guess. I had enough friends as a 14-year old. I wasn't… lonely. I was a softie. An easy target. I feared no one, yet I had enemies. Kids are brutal."

"I left school early, so I didn't experience too many harships," Sunghoon replied softly. "I was… extremely apathetic. I didn't care about others. I couldn't make enemies because I didn't bother anyone. I was tired of my senseless life and… left. I left. And now I'm here, with you. The love of my life. If anything, my life began when I met you." Sunghoon smiled, lifting a hand to push Jake's hair behind his ear. "You're beautiful, Jake. I'm glad it's you."

Jake was quiet for a bit, his heart beating at a dangerously fast pace. He watched as Sunghoon's eyes flickered to numerous places on his face — his nose, eyes, cheeks — and eventually stopped on his lips. He looked into Jake's eyes, and their hearts spoke to one another.

Should we?

I want to, but I'm scared.

Scared? Of what?

The unknown.

Sunghoon smiled softly. "Don't be afraid, Jake. Feel it. Just feel it. Do you feel it?"

"I do," Jake replied quickly, his shoulders tensing due to his fast reply. "I do feel it, Sunghoon. I've been feeling it this whole time. But it's so fast. I don't know… I feel like I've known you for years, but at the same time, you feel like a complete stranger to me. I want to know Park Sunghoon before we go anywhere further. I'm scared that we'll fall deeply in love, and I'll disappoint you with who I am."

"Jake, it's destiny. No matter who you are, I'll love you. I'm pretty sure I'll love you," Sunghoon said softly, turning to face Jake fully. He put a hand on his cheek, gently stroking with his thumb. "Jake, I'll fall in love ten trillion times, no matter how many times you think you'll let me down."

Jake looked at Sunghoon in the eye. "And what if I let you down ten trillion and one times?"

"Then I'll forgive you again, and fall in love again." Sunghoon's beam had yet to disappear. "Just feel it. What does it say?"

Jake smiled fondly, the gentle beat of his heart synchronising with Sunghoon's. "It's telling me to love you."

"Then love me, Sim Jaeyoon."

He nodded, moving closer to Sunghoon. "I'll love you."

Their lips clashed in a soft kiss, Jake's warmth merging with Sunghoon's ice. The feeling of pure bliss overcame them as their gentle embrace became more passionate. Jake loomed above the taller boy, their lips only ever parting as they found a new position. It just felt right. It all just slid right into place as every situation just felt perfect for that moment.

"Just love me like this, Jake."

Sunghoon's hands drifted downward, resting on Jake's waist to draw him closer. Sunghoon's ice slowly dissipated, being replaced by Jake's overwhelming, beautiful warmth. Jake pulled away for a moment to look into Sunghoon's eyes. The silent question was asked again, and their hearts drew closer with every passing second.

"Don't let go, Sunghoon," Jake spoke softly, lifting a hand to run it through Sunghoon's hair. "Don't let me go. Just keep holding me like this. I'll be your warmth."

"I'll never let go, I swear," Sunghoon responded. "You're my warmth… and I'm your ice prince."

Jake laughed slightly, giving the taller a nod. "Yes, you're my ice prince." There was a moment of silence before Sunghoon leaned forward to claim Jake's lips again. The kiss remained fluttery and beautiful, calm and sweet. Gentle warmth cascaded through Sunghoon's body as Jake put a hand to his cheek.

"Boys, it's getting late."

Jake pulled away quickly, sitting beside Sunghoon and facing away from him. Mrs Sim walked down the stairs, her hair in a messy bun above her head compared to her beautiful flowing locks from earlier. Sunghoon hadn't had time to recuperate yet and his eyes widened as his body tensed slightly.

"Jake, Sunghoon — it's nearly 12am, get to bed soon."

"Yes, Mom," Jake replied hastily. Mrs Sim frowned and walked upstairs again. Jake let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and Sunghoon felt the disappointment sink deep within him. "Sorry about that, Hoonie. Let's get upstairs."

Nothing could compare to the immense disappointment Sunghoon felt at that moment.
