1:9 - Drinks

𝙳𝚊𝚢 𝟸, 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚎𝚜- 𝚜𝚑𝚊𝚍𝚘𝚠'𝚜 𝚙𝚘𝚟

We all woke up for a second day in this hell. Despite being in all black, I still felt pretty cold. I wonder if my family is doing okay. I look up to the sky.
"Shadow, c'mon, let's go~!" Haruna smiles and pulled my arm back towards the bathroom. She had some empty buckets and water bottles. I guess we're getting water.

Following along reluctantly, we all halt at the doors. Kotori hesitated to open the door.
"What's wrong Kanna?" Haruna asks the girl.
"...oh! It's nothing! Let's hurry inside, yeah?" Daniel nods, dismissing the matter, and we proceed into the bathroom.

"It's good we have a constant water source, at least we won't die of thirst." I joke. "And for bathroom water, it really doesn't taste stat that bad!" They all laughed at this.
"Come on, let us fill the bottles at once!" Daniel strides towards the sinks, with more of a happy mood than usual. He shoves the bottle under the tap and flicks the handle, only for a drop of water to come out.

"EEEH?!!" He squealed. He attempted to get some water out, closing and re-opening the tap, banging it, even asking please, but nothing.

We had no water.

"What the hell?!!" Kanna groaned.
"What are we supposed to do now?" I asked the group.
"Go back, I guess." Haruna frowned to us.

We had all sang a sigh of defeat, taking long and slow steps as we hung our heads in shame. Why is not there any water? I was the others facing the same problem? To my shock, they were. Some were confused, others mad, and the rest just looking defeated. We sat down and Kai handed us our rations. I grabbed my water bottle from yesterday as well as a sandwich and sat down on my bed.

"At least no one is dead, and the food we have can last a few days."
"What happens when we run out of food?" I asked.
"When we run out..?" Zino repeated.
"Yeah."
"W-Well," the boy begins, but stops himself. Then Reika starts to talk.
"Oh, Zino-"

"Heya everyone~!" A certain accented voice sounded through the megaphones as we ate our food. You never thougt you could despise someone so much in your life, but really, she gave you no choice. She's twisted... locking us up I'm here and expecting us to kill. Reika sighed as Monomia continued to talk. "It's a shame no one has died yet, but all in due time!" She flew out of nowhere, gracefully landing on her feet and palms. She stands up with a grin, her hands on her hips, and starts to ramble. "Now, I know you know that I know that you know your predicament, but I'll explain it anyway! It's only early day 2, yalls are getting along but ya have no water source, and ya gonna starve to death soon enough! What should you do....." she dragged out the 'oo'.
"Oh shut up you brat. You're just asking us to kill each other again." Kanna seemed pissed now.
"Well, duh! I mean, unless you all wanna die of thirst."
"We won't die by something so futile!" Iryo spoke, determination in her voice.
"Listen, lavender. Unless you plan to drink someone's piss you're gonna die."
"But what about helping us?" Joe asked.
"Listen kid, I dunno what you're talkin about."
"On come on! Don't play dumb!"
"Playing isn't part of my job."
"Now that's a lie-" The voices blurred as I felt heavy.

Third person POV.

"Guys, Shadow just passed out!" Haruna shouted to the group. The dark haired girl layed on Haruna's lap, looking sweaty and frenzied, despite being asleep.
"Oh right! That's what I forgot to mention~!" Monomia spoke once more. "Someone poisoned some of you~! By the food and drinks you're having right now, no less!" At hearing this, Tsukki spat out the mochi he was oh-so-happily chewing just moments before.
"How much of it?!" He asked.
"I think just under half of your food.... most of your drink. who knows! Only time will tell i guess." She shrugged. "I think that's it-"
"Why?" Reika frowned.
"Hmm?"
"Why poison us?"
"I thought you already knew?" Monomia pulls out a purple vile and continued to speak, malice once again weaving itself into her tone. "You guys seemed to be getting on so well together, I guess they couldn't bear the lovey dovyness! There was no despair! No chance to kill! So what better than knocking some of them out quickly?" No one spoke until Misuki dropped next.
"Mitsuki!" Several shouted as Natsuki held her close.
"Dammit!" She cursed to Monomia. Tears pricked the grey haired girl's eyes as she held her sister close.
"Another one bites the dust, what a shame. Well you could always just-"
"Shut up! Isn't there any other way to go about this?!"
"Not really. If you couldn't tell, this is the antidote, so if Someone could just kill, I'll give them the antidote, ensuring their safe return back to society!"
"What's the point in going back of my sister is dead?!"
"Then what if I let the killer leave with someone of their choice? If you get away with it of course."
"What..?"
"I said, you can take one person with you! This is a limited time offer though, So hurry up!"
"Does that rule apply to everyone?" Reika questioned.
"Sure! But I gotta go now, I have a feeling they're no going to like this."
"They?" Yagami questioned.
"Who? I didn't say they! Now chop chop! Get it? Heheh." She grins to herself before turning around.
"Hey wai-" before Yagami could send her his two cents, she jumped on the speakers, then to the roof, and ran off out of sight. "Bastard..." he cursed.

"How do we tell who else is sick?" Natsuki questioned. "It'll be better They all thought, then iryo smacked her fist into her hand.
"Let's check Shadow and Mizuki for symptoms with the first aid kit and my medical supplies. I can work as a doctor until we nurse them back to health." She walks over and checks their temperatures, as well as checking for other things like rashes and discolouration. Then she stands up, dusting herself, before continuing to speak. "Does anyone feel unusually warm?" Glancing around, Iryo notices two hands up, Olivia and Kanna. "Alright, you two stay with me. Is everyone else not feeling any sort of unusual sensation?"
"Nope." "Nothing out of the ordinary" "not really" as well as a chorus of 'no's and head shakes went through the crowd.

Time skip

As expected, the two girls passed out, but they are now being nursed by Iryo. Surprisingly, Joe also passed out, and despite others pointing out his symptoms, he had denied feeling sick. Well, it didn't matter, he was asleep now.
"No one else seems sick, so is it just those five?" Daniel questioned.
"Doubt it, I mean Monomia said that there would be around half of us. There's 17 of us in total, so around 9 of us should pass out. I think." Kai replied.
"Maybe the effects work faster on some people?" Yagami suggested.
"So we could all be infected?" Akui clarified
"Potentially." Iryo answered.
"Even you? The nurse?"
"Sadly, yes."
"Hey guys..?" Reika interrupted the group. "What do we eat?" An angry huff was heard from from Tsukki before he spoke back.
"Why is it that all I hear come out of your mouth is bad news?" The grey haired girl simply shrugged in response.
"Anyway,  we're gonna eat the food of cou-" Yagami stops himself from continuing his sentence, pausing then coughing. Akui let out a quick
"Smartass." Before chuckling to himself.
"You make a good point. Would there be a way to check the food by any chance? We haven't got any 'ultimate chef's here have we?" Kai asked the group. After a harmonious head shake, Kai just sighed and crossed her arms.
"Oh also," Reika pulled Zino aside and whispered into his ear. You could easily notice Zino stiffen from Reika's words, and when they walked back awkwardly close to each other, the whole group could sense something was off.
"What was so important that you couldn't say it to the rest of us?"
"Nothing really. It'd be useless to the rest of you."
"Tch."
